The large hall was empty and dark -until a lone man stepped inside the entrance door and turned the lights on. As the lights flickered and held, a long Firing range was revealed, several replaceable and rangeable targets on one end, a seating and firing area at the other. The scruffy Jedi was carrying a bag filled with different weapons, which he set down.

"Damnit, food isn't.... ah hang on, here's the droid now. Over on the table thanks"

Xazor was carrying her own, as well as several other weapons in various holsters on her body. She stepped into the room and walked around, smiling as she took in many details of the room.

This place is great!

She exclaimed and turned around to meet Marcus's eyes with her own.

Thank you for bringing us here.

She said softly.

Kaman arrived on the Firing Range, after stopping by her quarters to finish a few details on her new lightsaber, so she could bring it with her. The details which were etched into the hilt were unfinished, but they could wait. She brought the guns that she had recieved and collected throughout her years as a special ops agent. There were a few standard ones(collected), A few enhanced ones(special ops weapons), one specially made(one of 30 made for special ops) and one, only one, saber gun, which was built from the specs drawn by her father. This gun was her own. The only one in existence.

"Sorry I took so long. I had to finish a few things on my new saber before I could use it. So what's up?"

He smiled at Kaman.

"What we do here is we have some food while we shoot some targets. And also, I begin your training. I for one dont do the typical 'lift that rock young Padawan' thing. I'm a bit different. So, you fire first and while you do, tell me what you know of the Force so far. Yeah, this isn't a bad place Xazor. I designed it in my NRSF days. I remember testing the first version of the Rail Gun - one of them exploded in my hand. Not a lot of fun"

Xazor winced slightly at his words, grabbing her own hand as she imagined the immense pain.

Sorry to hear that....but this is a beautiful complex! Well.....shall we get to work?

She questioned with a smile. The Knight was going to force herself to use her blaster, if it was the last thing she did. This was one of the few obstacles left between the bonds of her past.....and a new freedom....

Kaman takes a small sandwich. It contains tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, cheese, dijon mustard and mayo. The bread is toasted. She takes a bite, chews, and swallows.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say someone in the kitchen knows how I like my sandwiches made, and what I like in them. So what are we starting with today?"

Kaman removes a small plate from her gun and taps it twice with her thumb. A beep replies from her gun. She holds her thumb to the plate for a few more moments, he eyes closed. An strange look passes her face. Then she returns the plate to her gun.

"Hmm. That's odd. I could have sworn I took care of that already."

The Jedi Master raises an eyeborw as he watched Kaman.

If I didnt know better, I could have sworn she seems to be communicating with the gun itself! I must ask about that weapon and find out what it is

"The kitchen knows what each Jedi likes - I made sure they bought something we would find edible" he said out loud. "Now, what we will do first is firstly work without the Force, then with. This is a simple perception exercise."

Marcus checked the clip on the Rail Gun, before clicking off the safety and settign for maximum power.

"Central, Rail Gun target required, point 2" he stated out loud. Then to the two women - "The target range is built to have targets that will resist certain levels of fire power. Select the type you want, set for 100 meters. Dont use anything to help aim.... "

He stepped up to the firing line, breathed in, then out, raised his left arm and aimed the Rail Gun. Two seconds later, the familiar highpitched CRACKBANG! sounded out. On the target, the explosive rounded detonated with a loud bang, too low. The next one went too high and missed completely, exploding noisly on the rear wall almost half a km away. Another four shots blazed out, the room becoming filled with echoes of exploding projectiles and the whipcracks of the bullets being acceleratied to Mach 5 and hurled out the barrel. One more shot, finally almost dead centre of the target blossomed into a sprout of flame, before silence began to return to the firing range.

"Not good" he said, moving back to the table. "I'm too used to the Force as a guide. Not that it matters with a Rail Gun. Rightio, who's next?"

Xazor took quick bite of her turkey sandwhich and set it back on the plate.

"I'll go next."

She said, pulling a shiny silver blaster out of the holster on her left thigh. Her name, engraved on the barrel, gleamed brightly as it caught the light from the ceiling. She stepped up the firing line with great confidence. This being the first time she had used this blaster since.....She stopped for a moment, raising the gun up about eye level. Her thoughts floated back again. This is the first time she had used it since she killed hundreds in "The Great Defeat" on Cysaria. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, the gun feeling perfectly fitting in her hand. She called out in a loud voice.

"Blaster Target required."

And she left it at that. She had never been taught to use the Force for sharpshooting...but relied on her eyes instead. She had only used an aim guide once and vowed not to use one again....it always messed her up. She sighed, raising her right arm once again and eyeing the target. She held her left hand on top of her right and focused her eyes just a bit more. There was a silencer on the gun itself and when she pulled the trigger, only a small hissing sound was heard. The beam shot right at the target and made its mark just centimeters from the center. She smiled and lowered her arm, turning around to face Marcus.

"Guess I haven't lost my touch.....I am still a bit on the rusty side, though...."

She smiled slightly, putting her blaster back into its holster, then taking another bit of her chicken.

"Okay Kaman......looks like it's your turn."

She said with a grin.

Kaman takes another large bite of her sandwich, then puts down the rifle that is slung over her shoulder, then the shorter one which is slung across her back. She also removes two silenced guns from around each of her upper legs, and one other on the back of her left hip. This accounts for only a small portion of guns in her collection. These are all set on a table to her right, except for her attachments and equipment belt, and her personal weapon, which she removes from her belt, and looks it over. She removes the plate, and presses her thumb to it. A small, almost inaudible click comes from the gun. The gun shimmers, a shift and click and Kaman takes a sideways stance, lifting the gun to see if she can still get the stance right. Then she removes something from the hollow the plate sits in and hands it to Marcus.

"Here. This small disk holds info on all the targets some of my weapons require for practice. Especially this one. It's quite powerful. There's nothing quite like it. Please load those, Marcus."

He gives her a slightly odd look, but does so, because this has piqued a curiousity...

"Spike Gemshoot target model A1" she says.

"Okay....."

He did as Kaman asked. Now he was really beginning to wonder what these guns were. She was treating then like they were alive almost.

Going to watch this rather carefully - and not just with my eyes. I wonder what the Force will tell me?

Kaman closed her eyes. The room was quiet, as all eyes were on her. The target she had specified was made to withstand a lightsaber. Why choose that for this weapon? She could see the target through closed eyes. The centre was a small dot. A black mark. Not really visible at this distance. She opened her eyes and pulled the trigger. A sky blue bolt flew from the barrel, zipping toward the target, the buzz of lightsaber energy flying with it, and dissipated when it hit the target, leaving only a round black burn, 6 mm in diameter, and a white mark where the black one had been. Right in the centre of the burn. She returns to a standing stance, and blows across the opening of the barrel, pretending to clear away smoke. She winks and grins at Marcus, and turns the gun off.

"Questions, anyone?"

Xazor
May 8th, 2002, 09:04:40 PM
Xazor shook her head, looking at the target once again.

"That was great!"

She said, forcing a smile. It was so easy for them......they just could close their eyes and shoot. It almots didn't seem fair and Xazor felt a twinge of jelousy. She immediatly pushed that feeling out of her mind and smiled once again. She had to try so hard and work for where she was at....and it still wasn't perfect. She sighed and shook her head, pulling her blaster out of the holster. She ran her fingers over the words "No Chance". She smiled, recalling this gift to her.

No one will have a chance to survive once this falls into your hands Xazor. All those enemies of yours had better watch out!
That would be the entire galaxy Chase!
Well then, let them all run.....you'll be great. Your skills serve you well my love......and so I give this gift to you. Look, I even engraved "No Chance" right on the side underneath your name.....
Thank you my dear....
Maybe when you get out of here, you'll still be able to use it. Put fear into the Sith when we're Jedi together.
I'll do that Chase...

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted. She shook her head and felt a tear run down her cheek. The Knight quickly wiped it away and walked over to the table to eat some more of her sandwhich. She took a few bits of it and ate it hungrily, standing there, her eyes focused on the blaster in her free hand.

Kaman looks at Xazor. She seemed distracted...frustrated...

"Xazor...You'll be better at this than ever before. I assure you. I didn't just become like this on any whim. It took years of practice. My stance is so steady, it's difficult for me to miss my target."

She sighed. Her own conditioning was frustrating sometimes

"I used to do sniper. I never used scopes. I had to perfect it the hard way. I don't know what it feels like to miss the target anymore. Sometimes, missing the target is a good thing. It gives you a second chance. A second chance I sometimes wish I had. But that's in the past. Can't do anything about it now."

She finished off her sandwich.

"Can I tell you about my gun? It's like telling about a part of me."

Marcus glanced at Xazor - I must one day think about giving her a base to stand on, she is a good Knight, but her emotions are so raw and on the surface! and then back at Kaman.

"I would love to hear about this gun. It seems to form aprt of you, it seems to be an extention of yourself. Like any true gunfighter."

His thoughts drifted to a man who also seemed to be part of his weapon. I wonder what became of Tondry?

"And the weapon seems to be quite different. Please, the floor is yours. I would love to hear what it is"

Xazor
May 10th, 2002, 05:55:42 PM
Xazor glanced up at Marcus. She could hear his thoughts in her own mind and looked down at the floor a bit ashamed. Her eyes slowly fell to rest on Kaman. Indeed, Xazor's emotions were raw and close to the surface....but for some reason, she couldn't help it. She had to do something soon or she might loose it one day.

"Yes.....please tell us about your weapon."

The Knight said with a half hearted smile. She eyed the gun and then her eyes went up to meet Marcus's.

Perhaps I should not have come..... I don't feel......welcome.......

She spoke in his mind, looking away to the target once again as she pondered her thoughts and feelings.

Kaman holsters her gun...

"The gun I just used is called CobraWolf. Its energy bolts and power comes from a power cell and gem...much like a lightsaber. Except it has a interruptor that opens and closes to release strips of the beam like regular blaster bolts, when the trigger is pulled. I spent a great deal of time like some Jedi do with lightsaber building in building this gun. The plans, like my new saber, were drawn up by my father. It holds the same cutting power as a lightsaber, in the form of bolts."

Sorry to interrupt - just a message from Marcus. He hasn't forgotten or is ignoring, right now he is getting ready to do some international travelling. He'll answer as soon as he can, from some part of the globe in the next two or three days.

"Most interesting"

He pulled his thoughts back on track - there was a reason for coming here and it was not just for the discussion of guns, however pleasant that might be. He turned to a control pad and tapped in a specific code - the range target reconfigured and began to move in random directions - up, down, forward, backwards and sideways.

"One of these targets is different. Use the Force to find it and then shoot it. "

Even he wasn't to know which one had the marking on the back. Marcus colsed his eyes, feeling in the Force to the targets, feeling their various movements.... using the Force to sense differences...

"Kaman. Your first"

Xazor watched the targets for a moment and looked away, trying to sense with the Force which one was different. She watched Kaman, to see what she would do. In her heart, Xazor hoped that she would miss...but then she remembered the Jedi Code. The Knight shamed herself for the feelings she had. You're always so jelous and bitter.... She heard the words over and over again as she looked on, her eyes drifting to the targets once again.

he Jedi Master opened his eyes slowly, then cast a weighty stare at Xazor, not saying aything. Not needing to say anything.

But eventually he did.

"Too much like Turbogeek you are. Always be mindful of your feelings and your heart young one"

Xazor Elessar
May 18th, 2002, 07:14:40 PM
Xazor looked down at the ground, knowing very well what Marcus was saying.

I can't help it....that is how I feel!

She said angrily through the Force, and then caught herself. She turned red once again from embarrassment.

Perhaps I should meditate later. Much is heavy on my heart...and I seem to be failing everything and everyone lately...I don't know why...I seek your counsel, if you will...later...

She spoke to him through their life bond as she watched the targets, casting a worried look his way. She was deeply concerned for herself...

This is not like me...what is happening to me?

She questioned through the Force, hoping perhaps, that he might have the answers to all of her problems...

Marcus Telcontar
May 18th, 2002, 07:19:26 PM
Yes we will speak later - but not long later. After we finish here, you will join me on a trip.

Xazor Elessar
May 18th, 2002, 07:34:04 PM
Xazor gave him a puzzled look at his reply. She lofted a brow and thought of what he said.

A trip? To where? How can a trip give me the counsel I need from you?

She questioned through the Force, not wishing to sound or appear disrespectful or ungracious, for she wasn't...just slightly confused....

We go to my home.

Even if he was communicating in his mind, he still turned to look Xazor in the eye.

It is a place of great peace and beauty. It is a place filled with life and the Light Side of the Force. Nothing evil will tread there. It is a place of healing of the mind, body and soul. When you step foot on it's soil, you will know what I mean

Xazor bowed her head and then looked him in the eyes as she spoke in his mind.

I thank you, great friend and Jedi Master... you are truly wise. I hope this helps me...

She smiled gently, showing her gratitude through her eyes.
