.. but too lazy to find where.

Is it me or is Xazor welcoming three new people in recruitment that are the same person?

Ya know.....I was wondering that myself. I think that one person is playing like, ten people! I keep greeting new ones.......but they all seem the same.....all have the same writing style...kinda like my padawan; Clay. I am just thinking it is him.....hmmmm......maybe Marcus could do some checking on the admin level. I mean, they don't even sound serious.....just like...okay, train me. I think it is fine when you have an alternate Jedi character like Sage and I do.....but when you have like, ten.....that is a little ridiculous...

Point out who they are. I did a quick check and their network addresses are wildly different, or at least the ones I checked. Personally, they remind me of young(ish) kids. You wuuld be surprised how similar under 14's seem to write in the beginning. You could be looking at a set of friends.

Let me know who you want looked at further.

Clay Dennatta, Ulic Dennatta, and everyone that I have greeted in the recruitment center in the last day or so. Finalkwest, the Aiki dude, Viper....etc.....

Thanks Marcus! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

Oh geez, now your asking me to remember back that far?!?!

:-p

Hard to say. Everyone who has been around 2+ years would be highly embarrassed by what they were writing like in the beginning.

I am determined to dig up my first post on my aniversery, so everyone should see the horror that was my ridiculous writing. Heck, I might do it soon just to get a few laughs.

People usually suck when they first come here, then get better. Maybe someone advertised on a board for us, and we got some of the people from there? Perhaps that board has younger people, which might explain the poor and sloppy style.

Well....

I have to admit I have not seen 10 genuine newbloods for years! I went into 1337 h4X0r mode and did some checks. These new people are genuine and ALL different.

When was the last time we got 10 newbies within two weeks?

Is this a sign of the Member storm coming? I dont know, but you really have to think and wonder if it could happen

Remember to promote!

Remember to welcome new players!

Everyone keep an eye out at the Recruitment centre!

Now as for Writing styles----

Over the three years I've been RP'ing at SWFans, You just learn how to pick people...

1) Not much spelling or grammar, feels rushed - young males.
2) Want to get with someone fast - young females
3) Want to fight and get promoted fast - young males again
4) Want to relationship RP more - young females

Generally women post more in a post, spell better and structure the flow of their posts better. They also tend to have smaller characters. Males tend to go for whatever punchest hardest.

Also, females tend to stay around. Generally they are better roleplayers to start out with. Males often use multiple accounts, women tend not to. Troublemakers are almost always male.

Now given that you might think males dominate Net life, that is not true for roleplaying. Often it's noticable females make up a high percentage of the community.

What is very odd however is the number of working partnerships I've made with females. And some very productive ones. It's alos notible roleplayers often form up partnerships as well, eg Ogre / Dale / Soojin, DT / LMJ (which is why banning her hurt, we used to be one hell of a team), Marcus / Arya, Deville / Tondry, Sanis / Sasserri, Gav / LV / LW coming to mind. There are more and I see one or two more forming now.

Eh, enough of my old timer waffling <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/image/emoticons_classic/smile.gif ALT=":)">

I would have to respectfully disagree with you on two points. (of course, these may be exceptions to the rule... and keep in mind that they were not necessarily here) First of all, I have known at least one male poster who sought out the ladies more than any lady I knew. Secondly, I knew of a few ladies who were much more concerned with the "sharp, pointy end" of the deal... :]

But still, I do agree.

I always pick light characters that fight tough. I just dig that more than muscle bound brutes.

I think I joined up in August 15th 1999, but I can't find that thread!!

No, not Ogre lol. I was pointing it out because i felt a Padawan shouldn't be able to do those things as Anbira pointed out

Hell it took me an entire RP as Dale to figure out how to go Ethereal lol
