A question for the council

I wish to know the average time it takes to get promoted, if the time lapse has changed since I was last here with a diff. character.

Well, normally, it takes at least 3 months. However, it may take more, depending on how well you get noticed. The most important factor is how active you are roleplaying. If there are threads of your training in Jedi Academy, but much more important; roleplaying and confrontations with Sith at SWforums.net RP forums, it is a very good argument for promotion. Such threads indicate your roleplaying skill, how well you play Jedi IC and illustrate wether you can face Sith on your own.

Sometimes though, promotions take unecessarily long, even if the Padawan is more than ready. I think, that is one question the Council need to discuss how to improve, because it is actually not the time of membership which is important, but how active the Padawan was. I prefer to view the 3 month as a guideline rather than an absolute rule. If a Padawan is ready, he/she is ready.

I was always of the opinion that the primary responsiblity of reccomending a Padawan for promotion belonged to the Master.

Few reasons:

1) They're the ones doing the training.

2) They should know the Padawan better than anyone else at GJO.

3) They should be helping get the Padawan's feet wet at SWFans.

Members of the council don't have the time to hunt for people who are ready to be promoted.

And, I like to add, sometimes Padawans Masters might not be on alot or getting to training.

Real life issues do pop up so one, be patient and two, if it gets too long where you need a new Master
