FYI, Yog and I are cleaning up the lists. We are removing people who have not been around for a while and also re-evaluating who gets what. One of the things changing is that active Jedi only will have admin / moderator access. And even if it's a pain for me, I only have access via the one account now, this one.

Admins now are

figrindan
jediboricua
jediknightleiasolo
marcusqdunn (senior)
morganevanar
obiwan2
Masteryogurt (EZOp)

Basically, we are looking for the most active Jedi to be mods. Xazor and Ryla would be great mods I think.

Oh one nmore thing - the reason Yog and I are doing this is because of the potential move. We are cleaning up the lists and also setting out policy on what names are allowed to moderate. Up to now, who gets what was solely up to me or Yog. With the potential move, we are using the opportunity to clean up the lists and also ready ourselves if the move happens.

I concur with Yog's statement. Good moderators Xazor and Ryla will be.

Mm... I just caught it. Excellent movie. Danny Elfman is The Man™. Some of the early romance scenes with M.J. kind of dragged a bit, but the rest of the movie more than made up for it. Ending was really good, too.

My review? I give it 7.5 out of 10 walnuts. The action scenes are brilliant: Fast paced and heart-stopping with the effects. the CG was delicious. The music was phenomenal. Tobey makes nerds look human and cool. I loved this film.

Why then 7.5? Well here goes:

.5 of a deduction: The story tries a bit too hard to cram things together in a timeline that originally was spread out. He gets bitten, graduates, and moves before you are even into the Rasinettes. We're down to 9.5.

.5 point deduction each for Mary jane and the evil guy's son being totally and completely under-developed. Evil Guy's Son (EGS) has no personality, no depth, and really serves only as a place holder. MJ is far too innocent and unrealistically sweet for being a preppy dingbat. She acts all excited about seeing Peter, then brushes him off. It's totally out of character the way she acts at the end. We're down to 8.5.

The absolute worst part of the movie? MACY GRAY is in it. She sings like a wounded bantha, and looks like buckwheat's evil stepmother. Oh Force I Hate That Woman. She gets 1.5 points taken away from the movie right there, which would have left us at 7 if it weren't for a certain creator's cameo redeeming it up .5 of a point.

Go see it. It still is a great action movie and roxors yo. :]

But... but it had an Elfman score! Surely that elminates Macy from existance.

I have not seen it yet but Osborn's son, Harry, is Spidey's best friend in the comics. So I think it's a big mistake not to have him developed. Also, if you're saying MJ is a hot/cold character, she's kind of supposed to be I think. In the comics she's a total flirt.

Hey, how about making Avolon a mod for the bar and grill? Since he is Chief of Security.

It's not that she's hot/cold, but that her side of the whole romance seems unrealistic and rushed. She's dating this guy, she's dating that guy then, Oh! Wait! You too! I was like, huh? and stuff. Ohmygaw! Like, for sure!

*rambles on until someone injects her with de-blondimufication syrum*

Anyway, still a great movie. Totally. :]

Yeah... I didn't like how she went from Flash, to Harry to Peter. I think they just shoved her relationship with Harry in there to give him more reason to hate Peter / Spiderman later on. Really, they probably would have been beter off just cutting her relationship with Flash, and developed the other one more.

I like Kirsten Dunst as an actress, but her role was about the only thing that dragged the movie down some.

Oh, and you forgot to add an extra .5 for a cameo appearance by Bruce Campbell.

Bruce Campbell rules. He's been attached to Raimi at the hip since childhood. They knew each other in Junior High. He has him do something in almost every movie he does. His first film was actually Evil Dead, starring Brucey.

Well, I think in the comics she dated Flash and Harry. Flash goes on to become Venom, doesn't he? And Harry goes on to become the Hobgoblin I think.... So maybe they're setting things up for sequels. It seems to me, even though I haven't seen it yet, that they tried to crunch a lot of comic book time into this movie.

His first film was actually Evil Dead, starring BruceyPlease... that's Campbell's defining role! That's what he's known for!

Eddie Brock, rival photographer at the Bugle, becomes Venom. Harry becomes continues the legacy of the Green Goblin after his father dies.

I'd like to see Venom in the next movie, but I don't see how they're going to explain the symbiotic suit in 2 hours.

Didn't Harry Obsborn become the Hobgoblin before he was the Green goblin? or was it his father who was Hobgoblin first? @_@

I'm fairly certain Hob is seperate from Green entirely.

I thought there were as well. Didn't the Hob Goblin and Green Goblin figth it out to see which was the better Goblin (Say that 5 times fast). I could have sworn I had that comic somewhere....

Roderick Kingsley, a fashion desginer, modified the Green Goblin formula that Norman Osborn took and used it to become the Hobgoblin. Later on, some criminal named Jason somethingoranother took over the identity. Then he made some deals with demons for power. And the demonic entity split from its human host, leaving the Hobgoblin a purely demonic form. Or something like that.
