Okay everyone, we are getting a major influx of padawans, but this is only the beginning. Once EPII comes out, I am sure there will be even more. I have created this thread so that everyone is aware who the newbies are so that the process of assigning a Master to them is easier. The following are Masterless padawans who have been quite patient in this whole process:

Jedi Apprentice Anakin Larkin
Darial Alimas
Lucine Kasstra
Daigo Kenshu
Cmdr Lafeyette
Kenshin
Ooban Naaredla
Kurklash(MxPx)
Sejah Haversh
Raistlin Nemiss

To help out the situation, I took on yet another padawan: Kan Riki. If someone would like to take one of these, please post in this thread so that we can narrow down the list. I know it will continue to grow, but if we keep narrowing it down, that would help. Thank you everyone!

P.S. One more thing, if someone could make this a sticky topic, that would be great. I would just hate to see something so important get lost in the great abyss!

P.S.S. Thank you to those whom have taken some off of this list! It's a great help!

Thanks Morgan. Okay, whenever someone takes a padawan, I'll erase them from the list to avoid confusion!

Ugh..we are going to be in trouble! I am at my comfortable limit of 2.

Ok...what knights, masters can train??

Satine..are you ready? That's one maybe.

BTW: I stickied it

Thank you Leia! Yes, perhaps we should also make a list of available Knights and Masters. I am at my limit having five!!! I think that Satine would be a good teacher.....anyone else? Either post yourself for availability, or just pick off the list and let me know so I can delete names as they are chosen!

I'll take on a Padawan.

If there is anyway I can help I'll be glad to - once I've got my coursework done and dusted I'll be a lot more active in the recruitment center in order to make future Padawans feel welcome.

Then once my exams are over, if it is okay with the hierarchy of GJO; I wouldn't mind making a Jedi Master character for the sole purpose of training Padawans be it in training threads or roleplays. It will not be used for anything other than being someone's master, I'm sure I could handle it by mid-June. Would that be alright?

I don't mean train them as Loki, I mean create a Jedi Master character in an effort to help meet the inevitable growth of demand for masters after Episode II.

I've trained a good number of people in my time, all be it they were Sith, I can do the job just as well in the Jedi teachings.

ooc: I was wondering the same thing. Last time we had an influx like this, we started Force classes. Those worked until we found masters for the padawans.

OOC: Loki I do love that idea. But hmmm wonders if we can do that??? DUNNO!

Do you not remember when we were going to accept assistance from TSE members concerning this exact same problem? They offered to create Jedi Master accounts to help instruct Padawans due to the large numbers, now it is a touch more manageable. But if I only wish to use this character as a teacher and nothing else, I really don't see the problem.

I'm not dissing Loki's idea, esp given how much RP experience he has. A Jedi Knight character would be quite acceptible and I say go for it - Knights are allowed to train after all. A Jedi Master character? No. That would degrade the value of the Master's rank, which has been hard won by most memembers here. If I had to go through some of the tests I put people through, I would be a bit miffed if anyone could just create a Master character and be accepted straight away. So, Jedi Knight, go for it whenever you want

I wont take credit for this idea - but Helenias suggested a few nights ago a "Clan" format could help. A Clan would have one Master, a few Knights and they would take as many Padawans as they felt comfortable with. The Knights would train the Padawans, with teh Master as an Overseer. Padawans would be free to help each other and the more experienced ones would even help out if Knights and Masters not availible or snowed under. As a for instance, I have a Clan. I would be it's leader as such. Attached to this would be four Knights, whoch then gives the group the ability to accept up to 10 Padawans (ior even more) with comfort. Now, when a Jedi is availible to take a Padawan in more traditional one on one's, they can. Or you could stay in the clan. It also has the ripple effect on exposing my experience and knowledge to a far greater amount of players at the one time if done right. This could help players that arent on a lot either.

Really, it's an idea above and beyond what we have here and yes, part of this idea was ripped from AOTC.

Might be worth thinking about.

Personally, I prefer the student/mentor, one-on-one approach. But I do like the idea much, I'm just a bit of a traditionalist now and then.

When I said Master, I didn't mean status or Force abilities per se, I simply meant that this character could take on a number of Padawan's to help lift the pressure from Masters and Knight's here and there. Anything from 3 to 5 Padawan's even. I really don't care about the characters ability in the Force as I wont be roleplaying him outside of teaching duties, as long as he can teach, I'll be more than happy with that and it'll give me something to do after these exams.

I really really like your (Helenias's) idea about the clan thing. That sounds really cool, and a bit more under control than a Force class. I think that is an excellent idea!!

About Jedi Master character. What we could do is create a shared account for that specific purpose which people like Gav, me, Marcus, Leia, Nav, Sage etc could use.

When can one take on a Padawan? A Knight?

If so, I can be more involved in this when I come back from Aus. Not much point starting before then and plus if it IS as knight, Estelle is only just getting comfortable with the increased expectations/ability with this.

Toward the end of June, I will crank up her activity around here

Yog, I like that idea. That way if someone cannot post, then another member here can continue if something comes up and they cannot post.

But... peeps have to speak up and say that we need to help... unlike our characters, we aren't mind readers

Also, jdragon needs a Masters willing to train. I cannot take on new Padawans just yet.

Hey Estelle, go to the "Imminent Concern" thread and choose from the list of Padawans there. You only want one?? You can pick one or I'll give you one. Let me know....I'm kinda in charge of the RC now, and I have been working to get everyone a Master. Now we are talking about clans and things. Just look over that thread and let me know what you think! :) Thankies bunches....

Do you advise them or how does that work?

What do you mean, do I tell them of their acceptance to you? It doesn't matter....if you'd like to tell them yourself that's fine, or I could contact them. It's your choice! :)
