My only problem is, Jehova seems to be the type of IC character who would flaunt his position in TBH. Instead of being a quiet Dark Jedi he'd be a loud one...and TBH doesn't need that correct?

Granted I've read a lot of Stephen R. Lawhead recently, but I wouldn't think TBH would want to rattle their sabers too much so to speak. I thought the key to TBH was to be in the background, coming out only when it really did hit the fan.

Do I want TBH to have a bit more of a presence? Yes, but not in a loud, manner...but that's my opinoin. Any others?

Any reason why you made two posts in two threads with this same thought? :p

Yes, TBH is more like a secret society. People still call LD a Sith, but she doesn't correct them. Who cares what they delude themselves into thinking about her?

Of course, she isn't controlling anything yet. And we always had SOME sort of presence at TGE...Shimi used to be the Emporer for TGE, but Charley's stopped RPing him. So..its tenuous at best, our connections to TGE or any other powerhouse.

Well now we have an Imperial Grand Admiral who has presence in both TBH and TGE.

And I did it because I wrote it once, and then ended up writing the same thing here in the thread. It was an accident, butit happens. :p

EDIT >D now the thread (the other one) no longer exists. :D

I might be biased due to knowing Jehova IRL, but he'd fit in pretty well overall. He has a good attitude about keeping IC and OOC seperate, which is good. If he's loud, then that should be a right he should be entitled to. The key is that he deal with his own problems if he causes them for himself. As long as he agrees to clean up his messes, then I'm for it. My vote is a Yes.

Well, I would agree with that. If you cause problems for the BH, then you clean them up yourself or you're not a part of the BH anymore. It would seem to make sense.

Since I suppose I'm too new and haven't done anything to affect matters in the slightest, I will vote yes as well. ;)

Although, of course, if his character seems like it will be OOC to be a part of this secret society of sorts, then nevermind.

Shhh, you're not a full member yet, Shaed! Too new!

Although I'm sure they'll vote you in when the time comes. Jeseth, in case you were wondering..I explained who he was at the old TBH.

To clarify something: I do think that Jehova is an alright RPer. HOWEVER, OOC he leaves something to be desired...he's sort of whiny and easy to insult...I mean, he's had minor tantrums in the OOC forum of Swfans.

I hesitate to call them MAJOR incidents, because they were not. And we really don't need someone causing OOC trouble for us, especially with TSE.

This is another thing I want to reply to, but have to do it later.

Okay...newest thought on new members...specifically Jehova and Zasz (should they ever show up IC and ask.)

Trial periods. It is my understanding that such trial periods were implemented in the past, where people would be "allowed into Bast" under the watching eye of one of the other members.

During this time the applicant would not be allowed into HoS, and vile tests would be incurred upon them. Sort of a winnowing..see who really wants to be in, and who will get bored by being on the outside of the inside.

Two RL months usually suffice for this period. I respectfully submit that any applicants we are not totally sure of (and can't find a reason to say NO to right away) we place in the trial period.

Of course, remember that they haven't come to Bast to knock yet.

I have two options, following the thread at Rama's Corner. I could, (a) take them to Bast. Eh..bad idea. (b) tell them to get lost and stop telling people they are Dark Jedi. ^_^ More fun!

Or, (c) just leave without saying anything.

Well if they have to seek us out...tell them to get lost, and then have them come to us...

I know Seth was rather hesitant IC to give me info on TBH...it might be a good idea to do the same with them.

And a trial period sounds good to me.

Well I haven't given any IC information to Jehova yet.

My personal feelings on the Jehova matter are as follows: let the man in.

Reasons:

1. He's wanted in for a long time and been very patient about it. That is a good kind of loyalty and commitment that should be rewarded.

2. He's a B-grade roleplayer. Needs work in a few areas, but has what I look for in a fellow TBH member. We can work with him where he falls short and help him create an identity for himself as a Dark Jedi.

These reasons also apply to Zasz, but I think Zasz is one of those matters where everyone here should say yea or nay, simply because I don't think anyone here has worked with Zasz personally like Jeseth has. If they have, correct me please.

LD: Here's an idea for your RPs with them... in your newest thread give them tasks that will prove their loyalty to the Hand, or at the very least, have them gang-attack some Sith or Jedi. That could count towards their trial period, which I do think they should have.

Place Jehova and Zasz in the same theoretical box, and send them after the same goal. Perhaps a Jedi Master. I'd be more than willing to participate in that sense, especially considering Morgan's history with TBH.

Anyway, semi OT - In regards to my own participation:

Since everything I seem to do with Milivikal gets badly sidetracked by other poster's attendance issues, I'll assume there was a sort of offer involved. Hob and Jeseth aren't stupid, and there were temporary side effects (to Mili) from being out so long.

Her brain isn't working so well, and Bast and Meras are the only two places that she has any mental grasp to in the galaxy.

I'm playing on assumptions here that aren't entirely unreasonable. Mind you, I don't think she would be welcomed with open arms, exactly, but it makes it that much more interesting.

Hrm, I'm going to go post now.

Addendum - Jehova's feasablity check really seems to be broken sometimes, so he ends up doing (sometimes just proposing) outlandish schtiff (stupid swear filter) on occasion. IMO, one the ice cubes in the tray run together too often for my taste (regarding information between characters.)

Zasz is a better RPer than Adrian, IMO. IC, he better suits an unknown threat far better than Jehova. OOC, he's also very quiet.

Then again, Jehova would make a good theoretical distraction, diguising our theoretical IC "intentions".

I'm rambling to a degree, but these are all things bouncing around in my head regards to the two of em.

I've always viewed Jehova as a vicious weapon and TBH the darkness wielding it, like the sword of flame and the Balrog in FOTR.

Even Sidious had his Darth Maul.

I say let Jehova in, he's shown more dedication in trying to join this group than anyone I know. But, I think he should be taken under someone's wing and taught the TBH-ropes... OOC and IC. Just to make sure we can control (and possibly avoid) any future problems. Maybe Jes is already doing that, though.

Oh, and I think Zasz should be allowed in as well.

Zasz has shown a tremendous amount of improvement in his RPing skills. I've worked with him and so has Seth, IC and OOC. He deserves in. He already went after Nichos IC and caught him, bringing him before me as I requested. This is what earned him a promotion to Knight. He even went out and has made a small name for himself. He is loyal and commited.

Jehova might be very direct, but he is also very honest. I don't see a problem with that. I had a talk with him about his OOC attitude (hey, we all have our times when we speak a little too loudly or outside of the appropriate mediums) and he said he would be willing to avoid OOC if it was too much of a problem.

I worked with both them and they both were very patient. They've both been looking to join TBH for months on end now, and Seth showed that same dedication, and made a value addition.

Like I said before, so long as they clean up their messes and don't have to beg for others to do it for them, I don't see a problem.

I say, let them both in, with a trial period, to start as soon as I have another half an hour in which to post. I need to sleep. But I'm not. Curses!

I'll start another thread, in which I'll be mysterious, etc, and put them through a few, EVIL hoops. >D
