Can someone please tell me why that superfluous ">" shows up and how to get rid of it?

My guess is that it might have something to do with the custom body tag that includes a comment. Look to be missing a >

Found the real cause in one of the script add ins you have. The closing script tag has an extra > after it. Look for...
dots[i].obj.left = dots[i].X;
dots[i].obj.top = dots[i].Y;
}
}and find it just after that.

I've been trying to paste code here, but it just comes out as HTML. In any case, I corrected that code so it looks like this:



dots[i].obj.left = dots[i].X;
dots[i].obj.top = dots[i].Y;
}
}


and then an end script tag.

it used to be that there was a body tag after it. I've been going around deleting any superfluous code I could find, and it's still there. The body tag that you mentioned earlier is something I have no control of. it's ezCode, and nothing I can change in advanced customizations.

Script tags are banned here so that people cannot place them in posts. To post HTML source with script tags, use the php block tags and modify script tags just slightly, something like < / script .

I have another board which is nearly identical to this one here (http://pub88.ezboard.com/bthegalacticorder), and somehow the superfluous > is not present.

I'm actually trying to tidy the board up so that it will be easier to move the layout here, if I can get shawn to allow me to buy some hosting.

Speaking as the one who sets up the boards, it shouldn't be much problem to emulate whatsoever. vB is not bound by the frelled restrictions in coding that ezboard is. :)

It was the close script tag. EzBoard automatically creates another > to close it for whatever reason, so I just deleted the manual one, now the automatic one is the only one there.

EzBoard SUCKS.

Hmm, I think all is well.....actually.

Did you want all the aspects emulated here, including the mouse trails, left side Navigation panel, and the AIM function drop down?

Are there any forums you don't think you need? Keep in mind that Archive forums are not needed on vB, since forum depth is unlimited.

Let me get rid of some of the forums I don't need. I'd like to keep the left side navigation panel, the mouse trails, and the AIM function drop down. I think that all 4 construction forums can be merged into a new one called "Imperial Construction".
