Slayn Cloak

Slayn had yet again stolen a ship to suite his purposes; This was the first time the owner had put up a good fight. A young man had caught him off guard; He held him in the air using a force choke, his intentions where to subdue the man and leave him in the docking bay. The young one then maid a valiant shot with a small blaster, this damaged Slayn’s shoulder and irradiated him greatly. He gave a violent jerk and snapped his neck. After healing himself he found a small moon to start Aevenon’s training.

Once upon the moon and after exiting the ship; Aevenon followed him to a small clearing. The area surrounding it was densely wooded, but the clearing itself was just dirt and hand a radius of about three meters; It seemed to Slayn that locals had used it for ceremonies, creating fires and such.

Slayn spoke to Aevenon in his mind, this has always been Slayn’s most comfortable manner of speech. His words were subtle in his equals mind; He took great care to ensure that it wouldn’t have the damaging effect it did on most people.

”Now my apprentice, I deem this to be are only form of communication. It might not be hard to speak to me in this manner as we are one, but you will find it difficult with others until you can weald the power that you have such great potential to use.”

Slayn began to walk around Aevenon, encircling him and continuing to speak in the same fashion.

”Know this Aevenon, that you have great aptitude and therefor ability, once practiced. Now then, I want you to concentrate and feel the very essence of life around you. Once you can literally feel it, I then want you to reach out and embrace it, use it to your will.”

Slayn lifted his hand palm up, then closed it and lifted his arm. A small boulder that probably weighed close to eighty kilograms slowly floated near the pair. Slayn opened his hand again and it fell and upon impact maid a large bass sound.

”Lift it, please me and grow in your strength.”

Aevenon focused his strength as he had in the alternate world, and just like the first time it came to him, yet not in near the strength he expected. Regardless of the need to motion, he raised his hand in a motion and was suprised to see the rock not move. He concentrated further until beads of sweat began to form on his forehead. Finally as he felt himself release the pressure and the rock lifted, albeit a few inches, once he gave himself into the power.

He let the rock drop to the ground with a shudder. His shoulders sagged.

I didn't think it would be this dificult. Nor did I realize the control must come through surrender

At this Slayn was satisfied, though his apprentice couldn’t send the rock hurling at an enemy; He had the wits to defeat one. He spoke to Aevenon in the his usual manner: ”Yes, indeed very good. You have the wits to se this power not fight it. Now then, try again this time give in to it, feel the pull and lose yourself inside it; Beg for its help and muse its approval.”

With the conclusion of his words he raised a hand the rock seemed to tremble then cracked; with a second jerk of the force and his hand closed into a lose fist it was split, and four smaller stones were created.

Aevenon let'shimself get lost in the flows. The energy sweeps him up into it's embrace as if welcoming him back home. He realized this is where he came from.

home.....

Lost in a trance he doesn't observe the four stones lifting and begin to spin around his head.

The power seems to accept him as it's own. The light fills his mind's eye almost blinding him, yet its warmth makes everything feel natural.

The stones fly out from around his head to float 3 meters in from of his teacher and himself . A resonance begins with in the massive rocks. The air around each seems to flex and the stones shatter....

Slayn directed the debis around him with the force., they moved around him as ash in a breaze. He was not surprised, Aevenons power was at full strength in the other realm; What had just happened only proved him right. Once Aevenon learned control over himself in this reality, he would grow strong quickly. A smile cracked his stern face, bringing happy features where usually none can be found. Slayn spoke in his mind yet again:

” Better Aevenon, you’re growing quite quickly and you’ve proven my suspicions about us. You are one with what you are, you only lack now control on this plane of life. You will now take three severe lessons, and perhaps make some decisions...”

Slayn then spoke out as common folk, with his voice. It was a simple statement; His tone was stern and subjective, trailed with malice and force.

“ One “

With that stated Aevenon could feel a huge serge in the force; It had emanated from his Master. A tree that had rested for unknown years and lifetimes was ripped from its home. It was behind Aevenon some three meters, it was unexpected and moved quickly towards him; The huge mass of wood loomed over the floor traveling over three knots. It’s mass had accumulated with such great momentom, and would be a deadly blow if it met its mark.

It was as if some guardian angel had whispered within his ear, telling him of ill futures – a pang of worry pressed upon his mind as his eyes traveled to the side, with a glance over his shoulder. The hurtling tree grew closer at phenomenal speeds, but for Aevenon it all seemed so slow.

Life moved as a sluggish blur with single frames of movement appeared as jagged links in some crude tarnished chain. As he had done during his manipulation of the rocks, he tensed his body. It was not a forced reaction, but one instead induced as the Force followed into his being. Not on par with the ethereal realm, his physical self found taking in such power a strain on its structure and thus compensated by giving the energy an easy swift passage.

Though the momentum of the tree was quickening its pace, Aevenon still showed little concern. He moved with slow steps forward – his eyes traveling upwards so far that his pupils disappeared almost completely from view – and raised one hand. The palm faced upwards then turned almost gracefully in the measured manner all of his mannerisms had become.

A light wisp of displacement in the Force caused azure strands of hair to snake upwards as intangible pale energy massed its self at the tips of each of his fingers. As if again he was straining out to feel for the first time, he brought both palms now into the line of the tree.

A quiet inhalation of air and within a split second everything became its normal speed the tree crashed full force into his outstretched hands and was shredded almost instantly. As the bark connected to his body, each digit acted as a razor blade. The wood warped after having being cut and shot outwards, the gnarled shards dropping to the floor once out of the reach of Aevenons presence.

The azure eyes rolled back downwards, and the temporal displacement in the area vanished. He relaxed and canted his head backwards, looking upwards towards the sky before twisting slowly, head moving in turn, to look upon his Master in silence.

" two "

Slayn lifted his hand and sent Aevenon into a tree. He wasn't damaged, but a jolt was sent through his system, mortality was made a clear notion, as Slayn waved his hand to the left and a large boulder was hurled at his apprentice.

" You will not damage this rock, I forbid it."

His will was pushed into Aevenon's mind and was understood properly. It wasn't harsh or demanding, it was a reasonable order.

A flow of pain was such a shock to the system. In his life he had not been the receiver of pain, but the soothing balm, the quiet light that wept over wounds and healed their pain.

Aevenon watched the rock from his slouch against the tree. One hand stretched backwards to rest against the bark of the tree as it traced his fingertips over the grain, over the life. It spoke to him on a sublime level that only the Force could reach, its words whispered echoes in his mind. It calmed him, and willed him to feel safe in its embrace.

The peace that filled him was euphoric – a helpless sense, yet at the same time one which left him feeling completely invincible. Time froze moment after moment and became more jagged than before as whole seconds skipped his conscious mind, leaving him with only a short reel of disjointed images of the boulders advance.

Into his chest.

Everything became still the rock struck him, square in the ribs. Though nothing shattered, the Force had held its end of the bargain and encompassed him in irradiant luminosity. Aevenon welcomed it to him with open arms, accepting the boulder into his aura before repelling it with light force. It was as if on striking it, its momentum was absorbed fully into the man’s being.

The stone halted and set itself into Aevenons rising hands. He smiled softly and knelt to place it down at his feet with a tender care akin to a mother and child.

Slayn was surprise, he had intended for Aevenon to dodge the projectile, this proved to be more interesting. Slayn was growing pride for his student, thought it was the same as what he had held for himself.

"three "

The rock lifted up again as Slayn held to fist clenched toward it. The rock shattered and created a large basin which had been filed with water, provided from a collection of dew from surrounding plants. Slayn placed the basin on the floor in front of Aevenon.

" You will not permit the water to be emptied from this container; Now lift it and defend yourself."

Slayn came at Avenon with great speed, he was little more than a blur to his disciple. Slayn swung his right fist with furious power at Avenons jaw.

Aevenon took up the basin in two hands as Slayn advanced. He smiled somewhat, it was a look of childish naivety again, one of innocence and at the same time some form of compassion, previously alien to the Cloak.

As the fist came towards impact with his jaw, Aevenon pushed the former-boulder out to the side - letting go of it with both hands - to catch the incoming punch and hurl it to the side. He took in a deep shallow breath, alarmed having just registered gravity in his mind. It worked its way on the basin and sent it plummeting, throwing a miniature tsunami into the air from it.

Aevenon whipped one hand upwards to his temple and became tense, and within that moment a rewinding motion took place with the basin. It jumped upwards, and the water that had been rising within it was sucked back downwards into the base of the vessels. His palm slid out neatly to settle beneath it, whilst the other fell from his head to clench at his side.

Slayn followed through Aevenon's dodge manuver, spinning around and sending a side kick into his chest. The stone container was sent into the air water flying at gravities whim.

" Use your mind, don't disapoint me!"

Aevenon crumbled against the tree, his light eyes raising upwards to the heavens to see the silhouette of the basin. Quickly, he drove a kick outwards and planted it against Slayn's shin. Then, stepping out sideways away from the Sith, extended one hand upwards - leaping to meet the basin. As he caught it, the Force wrapped itself around the container to form a protective bubble; which the water simply bounced back off of.

Slayn kicked Aevenons arm just above the elbow, sending a shock up his shoulder. He then pushed the bowl through the foce away from Aevenons physical grasp.

Aevenon's body was infiltrated by a tremor which whipped up through his arm to his neck, causing his head to jerk backwards - his movements seemed very exagerrated in this aspect, as all that he did was very pronounced. Still, he managed to maintain some aspect of control over the bowl and as he leapt out towards the side, extended one hands towards it. Though he could not physical grasp it, an echo of his fingertips stretched out through the force and cupped over the top, acting as a shroud over the top of the bowl so that water would not escape from it as he drew it inwards towards himself.

Slayn narrowed his eyes at Aevenon, and waved his hand; Aevenon was sent sideways away from the basin, and the vase itself burst open sending the water in many directions.

The adept stumbled and began to fall back upon himself, crumbling from standing to the ground in a ill-controled heap. All at once his eyes filled with dread as above him the basin arced upwards and span full circle, sending crest upon crest of water off into the air.

The waves that cut about above his head moved quickly then delayed and became sluggish, as most everything did, a fraction of his own speed. He rose upwards, into a half-kneel, and watched the droplets; their reflection in his bright eyes. One by one, they withdrew and felt guilty for their transgression, immeadiately persuing a course back into the basin.

A hand moved upwards as Aevenon did and palmed the thing into a tight one handed hold, whilst his blue eyes fixed back upon Slayn.

Slayn stood still, locked in the position he had assumed prior to Aevenon's recovery. He nodded his head as he spoke in his apprentices mind.

" You will be of great use... Of course there is one more lesson you should learn for today."

Slayn's hand seemed to crackle and spark, the small tendrils of electricity that branched off of his fingers grew in only seconds. Meanwhile he finished his message to the Cloak pupil.

" I will always be the master..."

Thin shots of energy bolted toward, and entered Avenon's body. It cued his muscles to twitch rapidly, in an uncontrolled fashion. The first wave had come from Slayn's right hand leaving his fingertips sore and blackened; But this was repeated as he rose his left hand and sent another blast into his apprentice.

The force, it appeared, had turned on him, and whipped at his being like an angry demon. Encircling and lashing him, it seered through the fibres of his muscles and licked hungrily at his flesh, charring it. His eyes were alight with the sparks for the electricity, whilst temporarily dormant wings flickered and convulsed under the pressure of the attack.

There was, however, no protest from Aevenon. He understood that discipline must be brought to his body and mind, and if Slayn thought it best to teach the lesson in such a manner, then the pain would only make him stronger.

Yes…
