I'm not sure that I would publicly tell posters that moderators can see invisible users in Who's Online and Who Was Online. Some people may see that as an invasion of privacy. :\ But it is of course up to you.

Hmm.. good point. Will fix that. :p

Anything else I should add/change?

I think it looks pretty good really, and can't think of anything to add/modify at the moment.

Well, it is good to hear it is looking good. :)

Think I will have a second look if there is more that could be added. I am sure there is. I would need to be more explisit on some paragraphs and perhaps add a few more.

Yep, its always true that there is more to be added to anything. We are indeed all human and imperfect.

What do you guys think about how these forums should be announced? I will need to write something for GJO as well, to get this moving.

Well, the people in Avalon should probably be the first to hear about it besides the GJO staff, and then move it into a more public discussion.

Ok, so first a thread at Temple Avalon, then a full discussion thread at a public forum like Arcan IV. Sounds like a good plan.

How about the timing of opening up these forums? At what point would it be good displaying it for the public?

Probably best to do so if the discussion in Avalon goes well.

A simultaneous topic in OOC to the one in Arcan would probably be a good time to make these forums no longer private, least the ones that aren't meant to be.

Ok, that procedure makes sense as well. Thanks!

I just found an error in the FAQ:
* List by Access Mask (viewing who got access to privat forums) * Find and ban users by username, IP and email...was in the section of things available to moderators and it is only in part true. Mods can only ban by username. IP and email address bannings have to be done by administrators. I would have given the abilities to moderators if I could easily, but that particular part is tricky.

You can find usernames by IP and/or email address, but not ban them by IP and email address.

If you guys really want to have that available to you, let me know because with some work I can probably swing it somehow. vBulletin is nothing if not pliable to a person's whims via hacking.

Actually, that would be both a useful and a cool feature. Moderators would then be able to block spammers o other malicious posters on short notice, even if they changed username.

Btw, I suggest an adition to your custom title. A line break (br) and then the following:

Alrighty, time for a crash course in more MySQL and a little study of our Database, to try and accomplish this. It could take me some time.

Well, it didn't take as long as I thought it would. Moderators now have the ability to ban by IP and email address. We do request that the Admin staff of SWFans be asked or at least notified when such extremes are needed. :)

Very good job! :)

Mod powers here definately rival mod powers on ezboard and damn close to best admin powers on ezboard. Well they do except for board customization. :)

One thing on the question of moderators ..... actually I'll discuss that privately with you Yog. I was thinking about shifting Moderator access at GJO around a bit - anyway let's discuss that offline

The FAQ is good insofar as selling the idea. I'll still admit I;'m not really sure, but as I said, I'm going to give it the best opportunity for the idea to grow on me

One other thing I would recommend removing from the public FAQ announcements: I don’t think making the location of the mod CP public is a good idea. For mods, its good, but for regular posters to know...:\ I’m not very comfortable with the possible hack attempts it could open up.

True, need to remove that
