I'm in desperate need of some help with Linux.
I need to know how to completely disable a firewall on it, anyone know how?

Someone's been playing Blood Omen.
And, from what I remember of Linux, I don't recall it coming with a forced firewall. But I didn't exactly use it extensively. :p

Eh, well a friend of mine is trying to host a MUD, but this firewall keeps resetting itself up so that no one can remotely access it :| Very annoying.

Firewalling on Linux is done by IPCHAINS. Now is the firewall on the server itself? Is there a port that needs to be opened?

Ok, and the reply to that from my friend is:
i think lookkit is the problem, but i have renistalled linux and chosen medium firewall to allow telnet and trust for 4242 etc... basically allow everything
also:
/etc/xenetd.d/telnet has had disable switched from yes to no
