If there are no objections, the rule change will take effect tomorrow, as that will make it a week since it was suggested.

And...finito!

It is done.

I'll institute a 2 month trial period, to see how this works. If there are major problems at the end of the trial period, we will return to previous rulesets.

Whoohooo! o.o Seeing how fleeters have come, I'd say this is probably going to stick.

Approves of this more mature direction being taken and the lack of pressence of many stringent rules

I can't wait until someone makes some sort of post under the new ruleset. I sure would like to get an idea of what this all entails. Maybe someone could make a FAQ about it?

Pretty much the same FAQ you follow with normal RPing. Just read what's been said in Clean Slate. I mean, no killing, maiming, planetary takeovers, etc without permission. NR and Galactic Empire naturally are the powerhouses, and other groups essentially gauge power with however many officers they can field. And officer rank would be similar to force user rank...so that the bigger the brass, the larger the force they could field, the better ships, and better tactics.

Vis...just use common sense. Its simple that way.

Oh I did have a few other questions I forgot to metion before.

1) Unowned planets are still fair game right? They aren't assumed to be under NR control?

2) Is it still 30 posts for a takeover?

3) I know build threads aren't required, but are new tech threads same as before. Just posting that you are doing a new type of tech.

3b) If yes for above, are the rules for new tech still used?

1 and 2 are both yes.

3...consider tech to be like training. You don't need a build time per se, but it would be strongly advised to have a RP about the new tech.

Okay that sounds good to me.

Could we consider changing the 30-post rule to something like 5,000 words instead? I tend to make really long posts :\

Sumor Rayial

Yeah me too. But that's a pain to count words.

Maybe half it for longer posts? I dunno.

Darth Viscera

It's not that much of a pain. Just copy & paste into MS Word.

True I suppose.

Up to the mods though.

the 30 posts is to give others involved in the thread due time to participate, and such. It stays.

A quick question that has kind of plagued my mind. A planetary takeover would be strictly a military takeover, yes, or would merging a pre-existing planetary government (for an unaligned world) into your own also constitute as a planetary takeover? o.o

It can be any manner of methods. Political coup...invasion...or maybe your rich uncle died and left it to you in a will. As long as its RPed out over at least 30 posts (and no one-liner chat bits), it should be legit.
