In the past, scientists have rocked the foundations of society. New discoveries challenged the theories of old, and warped the perceptions and ways of thinking that so long held man kind. A decade does not go by without some new break through taking place; whether it is the tiniest of advancements in the production of modified food to the monstrosities that are created when man decides to play God. These leaps in biology can be both beneficial and a hindrance. Those which help mankind can develop cures, however those who spend their time engineering calamities will one day be the downfall of humanity.

Although it is considered that only the largest of corporations can afford and orchestrate creating such experiments, this is not true. All across the galaxies, citizens every day purchase black market equipment that is capable of spawning things so terrible that not even the most strong of men could stomach laying eyes upon. It is sad to think that they have no comprehension of what they are doing. The uneducated oafs will think of the equipment as a toy, of creating a new being as child’s play.

There are others among us who know more of the laws of the universe. We and we alone, are the true scientists. We do not dabble in genetics for the simple fun of it, but for purpose. If you can read and write you are not automatically qualified to create, however if you can read, write and defy convention you are. Those with limited imagination will find nothing in these sets except mutations of household animals or objects – perhaps a spoon that can bark, or a chronometer with wings. To truly create, you must have perspective on multiple plains. The normal senses are useless for this type of create; only the Force can create a true freak.

A freak, yes. Because after all, that is all that these spawned shells of mankind are. Twisted and warped distortions of our dreams, and of our nightmares.

For this particular experiment we will be using the tribal residents of the planet known as Helios. Based in the outer-rim, it is sparsely populated and inhabited only by a small number of clansmen, as well as the remainder of the Van-Derveld family. The climate of very hot and at mid day the heat reaches such levels that would cause a man to have heat stroke if he stood out in the view of the sun for more than five minutes. It is lucky, therefore, that there is so much foliage to line the pathways of the planet. Fascinating flowers and shrubbery of hundreds of variety are spread across each square meter of the ground. Even the towering mount Hyperion is speckled with small wildflowers and shading Banja trees – large canopied evergreens which produce a rather fragrant edible fruit, the local delicacy.

The planet is split up into four main segments. Firstly, the northern quarter which is held by the Sith. In this section there are many modern structures including the towering Figaro Favoura manor (home to the Van-Dervelds), Cloud 9 and the Dark Apollo Tavern – the two eateries on for the Sith family – and finally Hades Pit, the gaping chasm worshipped by the tribesmen from afar. The southern territory is held by the Shojo tribe, a group of peaceful nomads who keep themselves to themselves, skulking about in the forests of Junen; their home city. Of all of the land on Helios, the Shojo lands are the most scenic. It is within these regions that the fabled Eden’s Garden is supposedly location, a literal paradise on earth.

Eden’s Garden has never, infact, been found though. It’s whereabouts remains a mystery.

To the east, the great Hadou have settled. These are the warrior peoples, the great delivers of justice. They pride themselves on their hunting skills and show great courage when venturing up into the northern plains to try and enter the Hades Pit. The Hadou were once the ruling tribe upon Helios, however with the arrival of the Sith Empire’s members were pushed back into the east, where they still remain, honing and improving their combat skills as they rue the day that the ‘Gankha’, the Helion term for demon, ever arrived.

Finally we have the westerners, or rather what is left of them. Before the takeover of Helios, the Kemono were rivaled only by the Hadou in might, however during the rising of Palpatine’s Empire were crushed by the Hadou and sold off as slaves to the Hutts. The Kemono hold the Hadou fully responsible for their down fall, but in their current bitter state of poverty have no means of taking their revenge. This would be where we step in.

Revenge hungry tribesmen + offer of power = Helion slaves.

At any given time, if a party is weak, they will accept any help available to them. Therefore, if you find the time of exact depravity, you can seize their minds and their will. And then they are yours. Or ours, more precisely.
