Notice how all of West China is...blank. 1.2 billion people and it's blank! Come on, they can't all be in the East. They must have developed some sort of transmitter which renders null any orbital sensors, like a ranged sensor jammer. Otherwise, there'd be lights.

Amazing, you can actually pick out Berlin and Moscow, even Kirov! Madrid, Paris, Rome, London, Liverpool, the Azores. Amazing.

You know what would be cool to sell is a standard globe that has a cheap, malleable LCD screen wrapped around it. A little modem would download the latest composite satellite images (you could plug it in to your network or a wall outlet to download the updates, then unhook it), which would then be displayed on the LCD. A text overlay could point out which cities were which. Off the shelf parts could be stored inside the globe, and the thing could be run by batteries.
