Just went to see LotR again yesterday, and I enjoyed the TTT footage. I was surprised, however, that they showed Gandalf the White. I figured they'd want to keep Gandalf's "survival" a secret to those who hadn't read the books.

True, but I think that Peter Jackson and New Line also figured that, by far, the majority of those going to see Fellowship this late it it's run were the die-hard fans that have read the entire story before. Jackson has always held that these are films for the fans, so I guess putting that in the preview footage for TTT isn't that surprising...

I've never read the story, and I have no clue what happens, but for some reason, I knew that Gandalf wasn't really dead after his fall.

Well Mckellan himself has told people he was coming back so I don't its a secert now. I saw the footage though it was that awful version that Marcus linked, the sound was terrible, I think I am going to see it in the theater just to get a better look at it.
