Success!!!!! I scored 12 AOTC figures yesterday. I'm on vacation in Florida right now. On the way to Sebring from Ft. Lauderdale I hit a WalMart on Route 27. I came upon a pallet full of AOTC figures. Someone had just opened a case of figures. My eyes bugged out when I saw the Tusken Raider female and child. As I was pulling figures from the box a stock person told me the had a display of figures at the front of the store. She wasn't too happy that I was going through the case and I didn't want to push my luck. I took the figures I'd already snagged and found the display. It was filled with figures from a different case; Jango, Boba, R2, Anakin, Super Battle Droid, 3PO, etc.. I took 12 figures to the register and then the hassle began! First they would ring up as SALE NOT ALLOWED. The person at the register had no idea why, but I knew exactly what was happening. The store computer knew the figures weren't suppose to be sold, but the store manager had no idea. 20 minutes later I finally had my figures after the register clerk and an assistant manager had to manually imput the figures under a different code. The result of my purchase? The store manager realized his mistake and pulled all the figures! I may have been one of the few people to have gotten figures from that one store. I think this is how it's shaking down around the country. As soon as a manager realizes their mistake the figures get pulled. Anyway, I'll post a detailed list and maybe some pictures this Sunday when I'm back home.

12 new AOTC figures... VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crack

Damn you Jedieb! First, you take off to sunny Florida, then you score the AotC figures along the way! You would think that out of anyone in North America, the french up here would screw up and put them out early!

In the winter months, just about. I was being sarcastic.:p
In the summer, at least here anyway, it peaks at about 37-40° at the most. I can only remember one summer where it routinely got above 38°-40°, plus a fair percentage of humidity, like 80% or something...yes, 1995 it was....

ok, I got to get off the rocking chair...

sirdizzy
Apr 6th, 2002, 10:17:33 PM
its ussually 115-120 where i live during the summer

sirdizzy
Apr 6th, 2002, 10:18:23 PM
it was 90 today

JMK
Apr 6th, 2002, 11:00:23 PM
Where are you then? Christ 120 is hot, if humidity is involved. If you have that nice dry Arizona heat, then damn you!

It was about 42° here today. Isn't that special? I love seeing Americans and Aussies that come up from warmer climates at this time of the year and they think they're going to die, meanwhile, we have thin sweaters. It's too funny.

i am in the same desert that Las Vegas is in

Well I'm back home at last! Speaking of climates, it was a bit of shock to leave sunny Orlando and 85F and drive into SW Roanoke and see a nighttime temp of 27F. I'd go out in the pleasant Florida mornings with 70F temps and my relatives while my relatives were shivering from their Florida "winter." I always know someone's got it worse than I do so I never complain about it being hot or cold, but I just shake my head and laugh whenever any of my Florida relatives talk about it being cold, they have no clue. I know that if it's 35F in my neck of the woods some Canadian is probably dealing with temps in the teens, if they're lucky. So I zip up my jacket and pray for pleasant 50F temps on that weekend. :D

As for those of you who haven't been able to score early figures, just be patient. It's not that big of a deal really. They'll be available in just a matter of days. Now I'm going downstairs to open all of my new AOTC figs. MUHAWHAWHAW!!! >D

Jedieb
Apr 8th, 2002, 06:57:57 PM
I had never considered Sears either. They had some EP1 merchandise the first time around, as did JCPenny. It stands to reason they'd have some figures this time also, although I bet they cut back this go around. Thanks for the heads up JMK!

sirdizzy

i dodn't even know if our sears has a toys section

4 more basic figures and all 4 deluxe figures. WalMart just doesn't give a damn this time around. I think all this $10,000 fine per figure nonsense is just that, nonsense. I'll believe it the day I see a scan of a check made out by a retailer to a SW licensee. I think a lot of these stores are PURPOSELY letting some figures slip early to try to get as many of the collector sales as possible. They'll do anything to avoid another EP1 glut.
