View Full Version : New feature (minor)
TheHolo.Net
Mar 12th, 2002, 06:36:02 PM
A new feature suggested by ReaperFett and added by me is now available when using any of the Star Wars style sets. In the vB code section of your new thread or add reply screen Aurabesh is now one of the available fonts to format your text as. Please note that this font will only display correctly to people who have the font installed on their computer. If you do not have the font installed, the true type file version of it can be downloaded from the download section of the portal page.
Good luck to those of you who don't understand how to translate this font.

I can provide instructions on how to install the downloaded zip file into the fonts section of a Windows 95, 98 or XP PC if needed.

Here is an example of what my first post in this thread looks like with the font installed.

Problem: It's a pain to read if we do have the font installed. :p Have to copy-paste the text to do so.

General installation instructions for the file font file that can be downloaded from the Portal Download page.
Download the zip file, unzip the contained file to a temporary foder.
“C:\temp” if you are using NT or XP
“C:\Windows\temp” if using Windows 95,98, or ME
Once the file is unzipped to a location you know, open the My Computer window, then browse the C drive. Find and open the windows directory (at which point you may need to click the link to “show files”). In the windows directory you will find a directory called “Fonts”. (You can also locate your fonts directory by using the search feature if you like.)
Once the “Fonts” directory is opened and you see the list of fonts within, click the “file” menu at the top of the window and select “Install new font” (it might say “add new font”). That should open another window that will allow you to browse to the location where you unzipped the font file (Star Wars Aurabesh.ttf), highlight the file once you see it in the list of fonts in the Add Fonts window and click “ok”.

Ahhh, now I see how to use it. Stuffed if I can read it however. I'd love to see this in Defaul mode, cause it draws less attention if someone is looking over the shoulder at work.

It can be used in any style if you just use the HTML or vbCode manually.
HTML
<font face=Aurabesh>Affected text</font>
vbCode
[ font=Aurabesh ]Affected text[ /font ]And that vbCode would be done without the spaces after the [ and before the ].

Unfortunately, I can't play with the font while at work cause it's not loaded on my comp. Besides, it would take to long to have to copy/paste to notepad. I'll just play with it at home. :)
But I love the idea! Good job! :)

<font face=Aurabesh>Oooohhhhh!!! I was wondering what all the funny text was.
So, if I had other fonts on my PC and I had font face=*whatever the font on my machine was*, would that work?</font>
TheHolo.Net

It would for you, but other people who don't have the font would just see it as the default, which is Verdana round these parts.
