Currently the East and North Quadrants have been laid out.

I'd place it in mid alpha stage (for those of you who know about software developement.)

If you're on a modem, its going to hurt. I'm working on that.

Suggestions? I will be re-aliging some planets to better correspond with hyperspace routes.

Anyone happen to know what sector Nirauan is in?

ReaperFett

Columbia? :)

Good, but some of the next is hard to read

At last a reliable source! Keep up the great work! :)

yes, great job, btw your black line slips up in the corporate sectors region

Great. Suggestion: The Hapes Consortium is not all the way near the Galactic boundaries.

But I like the clickable sections. You even got Salliche near the Deep Core, good job :)

:D FINALLY!! I've been pushing forever for a new map. :) Several things, though:

1. The Map is upside down vs. Official SWGamer Map

2. I'm not sure if you used this (http://www.lowlight.com/swmap/) as a base, but they are very much alike in that it has an insane amount of planets and systems, and unfortunately is somewhat inaccurate.

3. This constitutes #2 as well, I suggest we decide on a true, official, base for the map. Like, say, the map in the NJO books. Those are accurate, just not as specific and not as many sectors/planets.

(I thought Vis was on the job?)

Its primarily based on the information from the SW Nav computer ( http://www.lowlight.com/swmap/ ).

Very useful, but not very good for getting idea of where things are.

Very good work, Morg. :)

Reminds me of another map site, but yours is far prettier. :)

Lord Gue
Mar 11th, 2002, 06:39:36 PM
i think vsc was on it for group related maps, a map showing specific planetary positions would be so EXTREMEly helpful

Morgan Evanar
Mar 11th, 2002, 06:44:10 PM
I didn't like Visc's map at all... and I've yet to find a good picture of the NJO map. If you can find one, I'd be happy to update it according to that.

I left some stuff in from the lowlight campaing crud, I'll remove it. Like I said, still in heavy dev.

crappy as they may be, those two maps are the ones ive been going off of for a while now

Morgan Evanar
Mar 11th, 2002, 08:02:18 PM
Now I add detail!

Those should be moderately useful. While pleasantly artistic and all...

Its very difficult to read in some ways. I think... for my next trick, I'll merge the two.

Going to take a while, but I have hopes it will be the most useful SW map on teh intraweb.

Lord Gue
Mar 11th, 2002, 08:19:31 PM
well, its my assumption that Nirauan isnt in the north or east

Morgan Evanar
Mar 11th, 2002, 11:54:38 PM
Ok... I've been trying to make that NJO map more legible. I think I've succeeded... but its now ugly.

I'm going to chop it up into sectors soon as I figure out how best to do so.

Yes, that means the nifty detail will be there when I'm done.

Here's alpha .3 of the NJO map:

You might find these two helpful when building a map:

Thanks Yog, already got Lowlight's SW Nav Computer. I've discovered it isn't very accurate, but I still think I'll glean useful stuff from it.

I'm waiting for the other site to load now.

Click on "Planet Guide" to check what planets are at which system/sector. You might also find the chart for traveling distances useful.

So far I've really only worked on the SE quadrant, and yes, the color level discrepancies will be fixed. Only the major worlds will be listed in the first two levels of zoom. At the final zoom level, you will have all the little, not as known worlds.

Looks good. Not a clue where some planets are, but thats my problem. Nicely done :)

Fett, if you could tell me where those planets are, I'd be happy to add them.

ReaperFett
Apr 8th, 2002, 10:20:54 AM
nnnnnnnnnnnnnot a clue :)

I know Togaria isnt too far from Kashyyyk, but I'll look for more info

Lady Vader
Apr 8th, 2002, 12:30:42 PM
Carshoulis Prime should also be added.

It's in the North-eastern quadrant, near Yavin, in the Anteres star system. There are several planets under the Cizerack Pride, but you'd have to ask Charley what those are.

As to specific detailed location, I'll have to get back to ya on that one.

Morgan Evanar
Apr 8th, 2002, 01:30:22 PM
I've discussed that with Charley already. Since we really aren't sure where to put it... I'm rather hesitant. I could make a SWFans version, but I want at least a week of downtime from even looking at the thing.

Nichos Marr
Apr 8th, 2002, 03:02:25 PM
Adumar is on the far edge of the Galaxy. Not sure which edge exactly :)

There was a few planets I wasn't able to find, but this map is much better than any other map I've come across.

I still want to know where Centrality is. Supposedly it's somewhere near Hutt space, but where :)

ReaperFett
Apr 12th, 2002, 07:39:55 AM
Some info for you:

PANTOLOMIN: You'd actually be looking for Panto, thats the system. That's all I know though. Suppose I'll check Dark Force Rising *shudder*

TOGARIA: is actually Togoria, and is in the Thanos system

ADUMAR: No extra info, except this- The planet itself was located on the inner edge of Wild Space, and was colonized some 10,000 years before the Battle of Yavin by separatists who had rebelled against the Old Republic

Nicely done. :)

Is there a link to this on our portal link page? If not I think its creator should submit one to be added to the Role Playing section.
