...I find it funny that you (a vocal Canadian and supporter of evil) rank Fallout as one of your favorite games, despite the fact that it shows American soldiers executing canadian citizens in a rather gruesome Saigon-style head-cap.

Sith Ahnk

In Fallout Tactics, you can join a group of British Columbians planning an invasion of the United States. As well, you can join a group of Americans who are paranoid that Canadians may be planning just such a thing.

http://www.nma-fallout.com/tactics/encounters/canadian_invasion/

And yeah, thats a pretty cool intro. But, you can also use it to sling a lot of anti-American stereotypes (since a bunch of Interplay staff are Canadian, it was meant for that.)

[devils advocate]Well, I thought the canadian deserved it...but emptying the clip into his corpse, while waving "hi" to mom on live TV is a bit of poor war sportsmanship, I think :p [/devils advocate]

Canada is responsible for America's problems. Blame Canada.

Things like that make me go ranty

No wonder you guys haven't been invaded yet.

No, we haven't been invaded because they all fear the secret Army that we have in the north. I mean you would think that it was just a lot of ice and snow. Well that's what we want you to think. Yesssssssss MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Erm, never you mind about all that.

False.

Well, it's true... from a certain point of view

Darth Viscera
Feb 24th, 2002, 11:50:26 PM
It's not true. I've researched the order of battle of the invading british army.

Besides, we won that war, and Canada lived in fear of being utterly overrun for the next 90 years. I'd love to see the stats of the Toronto Stock Exchange for every period in which the Monroe Doctrine was threatened. In 1859, when English military forces attempted to seize San Juan Island in Puget Sound, all of Canada pissed its pants when Lt. Gen. Winfield Scott showed the English what he thought of their abortive invasion.

Well we did burn the white house, but what I was going to refer to, was when the US invaded us. Or at least attempted to, before being humbly sent home. But hey, that's the past right, and not really relevant anymore

Darth Viscera
Feb 25th, 2002, 12:08:32 AM
You deserved more than to be invaded, what with you and your friends setting anchor in Williamsburg and other cities in your shoreboats in 1807, raping our women and "requisitioning supplies from the natives".

Scott threw your ass in jail then, too.

And no, you didn't burn the white house. Veterans from the European theater burned the white house, and they were english. It was believed at the time that the French had been defeated, and so the English reallocated European theater veterans to circumvent the Canadian Front.

I haven't had the pleasure of studying either American or Canadian Histories yet (2nd year is all European, 3rd is where the NA history is mainly taught) so I won't throw my two cents in other than to say this:

Whatever happened in the past is the past, the present is that the United States and Canada are still two different countries (most of the time :p).

That is unless you live in Quebec where they believe that we should be, and act like we are, THREE seperate countries, but hey what do they know only good things that have come out of Quebec are hockey players and Poutine, and no I'm not going to explain what Poutine is.:p

Sith Ahnk

AND HEY! My grandma was fromm Quebec!

Ah, that's just us Frenchies being uppity. Pay it no mind. Same thing happens if you go to Lousiana, where my family is from. Those people speak no english!

Napoleon's house in LA does rather rock, though.

Darth Viscera

Fett, you lost me. Are you talking backwords? Vinny, yep. We're cajuns alright. My great great great (keep it going) grandmother was Emmeline LaBiche, aka Evangeline. My name is Walter LaBiche. Henry Wadsworth wrote a poem about us :D

And no one else gets such a good alias as our family, either. Evangeline, heh. Even Lincoln-think about it. Abe "Top Hat" Lincoln.

So yep, my family is the de facto literal absolute most cajun family in like...the world. We are *literally* literally the epitomy of cajunesque.

Anything is better cajun-style. I make up 50% of the buyers of cayenne pepper, and I should be a shareholder for Tony Chachere's seasoning spices :) They make anything good.

Ahh yes, History books. The only true way to ensure that people stay pissed off at each other for things their ancestors may or may not have actually done.

Fact: Canadian History books glorify Canada, and put down other countries.

Fact: American History books glorify America, and put down other countries.

What happened in the past depends on who's writing it in the present, why bother getting upset?

Tony Chachere's rules! Unfortunately it seems that you have to be within 100 miles of N'Orleans to find the stuff. The best we have here in Maryland is seasoned salt :lol

Yep. I'd agree with that.

This thread was about a video game intro until Viscera decided to become .... about practical realization of history
That said I'm not mad about it it's just not what the thread was about

Darth Viscera

I only jumped in when you got high and mighty about burning our White House. Don't be mad at me simply because history and facts and actual documentation override modern-day heresay and conjecture.
