View Full Version : Ok, I didn't know Crossroads was THAT bad!

Ugg, why didn't someone warn me?!?! The critics didn't say it was THAT bad! It got at least C ratings and some D's, wtf?!

That was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

PLEASE AVOID THIS FOR YOUR OWN SANITY! SAVE YOURSELVES!

I really like Britney Spears, haha, despite the bandwagon jumpers who all say they hate her and she sucks and she's a whore, etc. Still, I just like to say I love her because it bugs people and she's hot, so what the heck. I have nothing against her. She's so hot.

Still, I cannot believe how bad that film was. Hot or not, I never excuse a bad movie for that type of thing. I mean, this movie had some of the worst acting I have ever seen in my entire life, but Britney in fact put in one of the better performances! I cannot tell if she is a decent actress or if everyone else just SUCKED so bad it made her look good!

The film was totally unbelievable in every sense of the word, almost sickeningly cliched. I mean, ok so Britney had no dates and no friends throughout high school basically except a geeky lab partner?! WHAT THE HECK?! What high school is this? At my high school and every other high school in the ENTIRE WORLD, hot girls are popular girls automatically because in high school, looks are everything. She would be absolutely incredibly popular at any high school and guys would hit on her like 10 times per hour at least. WTF? How stupid. That was just one of many problems with this movie.

I felt so embarrassed even buying a ticket, but I felt worse sitting in the theater with pre-pubescent girls giggling throughout the entire movie. I don't know what was worse, the movie or the audience! Thankfully it was only 1.5 hours but it felt like it was an eternity.

If I had a gun in my hand during the part where a GUY starts singing along to a chick song with the three girls, I probably would have shot myself through the head just to end the misery.

NO STARS.

Crossroads sucks. One of the absolute worst films I have ever seen.

Although I haven't seen it, I don't think I'm going to disagree about the movie....:)

Geez Jon...I'm not sure I would've seen this even if I had a date, that paid for ME. :P I don't care how attractive Miss Spears is(and yes, she is very) the movie looked awful.

It would've taken a hell of a lot more than a date paying for me to go to get me to see it....I mean, really, if she can't sing live, how can you expect her to act? The only time I could imagine looks (and I don't even think she's as attractive as everyone says...) being able to overshadow lack of acting ability would be in a porno...so I guess we know what genre she'll be headed to next...of course, who knows how long it'll take her to come up with a fake name...

Maybe she should co-star with JarJar for her next movie...

I pity you for having to stand through that movie...

Don't worry, this year I have faith in films starring musicians, even after this. I mean, Inglasias is one of El Mariachi's friends in Once Upon a Time in Mexico :)

In the future, I don't think I can afford (emotionally) to see all of the new releases because some of them just suck too hard. This movie was so bad it was painful. A one star rating means bad, certainly very bad, but no stars means so bad you are embarrassed to be in the theater!

I cannot think of more than one or two more embarrassing experiences than saying, "Yeah, one for Crossroads."

I did get both of my tickets at the same time (the other for Dragonfly) so it seemed more like I was just seeing a lot of films instead of specifically seeing that dumb Britney movie.

There is a great scene where she's just in these cute little panties, haha, and that comes at the start of the film. So sneak in, watch that scene, then leave immediately and you'll enjoy those three minutes or so, but that's it! :)

Sadly, I could identify with one part of the film but just because of that it doesn't earn any brownie points from me, hehe. Britney is a valedictorian in the film (how believable is that?! lol) and she's telling her dad how she feels like all she ever did was study during high school and never went to any football games or parties, etc. Haha, been there, done that. I only ever went to one football game and never went to any parties. That was a mistake, in retrospect, considering I am not that sure I will even bother with much college. Optimistically I like to think, "Well I did my best and I always do my best, so it was worth setting myself up as well as possible and getting great grades." Then the other side says, "A lot of good that did! What a waste!" Eh, I dunno.

The movie sucks still.

From everything I have read Glitter seems like the second worst movie of 2001 (only Freddy Got Fingered is probably worse), it would take much to make a movie better than either one.

Heh. When Freddy Got Fingered came out on video, everyone was asking me if I had seen it. My reponse: "Well, no I haven't. But that's because it looks incredibly stupid." They'd go ahead and rent it anyway, then come back the next day and say something along the lines of "You were right - It sucked."

I heard that the producers of Glitter paid Carey something like $28 million to break their contract with her.

That was her record company I think.

Need to see Freddy got Fingered. Need to see the sh**e :)

I wouldn't waste my time to see either movie, I try to save my money and not to see crap like that.

Well, I don't pay for the things I rent. But I have much better ways to spend 90 minute segments of my life. :)

I do not agree with that. Freddy Got Fingered, I am POSITIVE, was much better than Glitter. I did see Freddy Got Fingered, I did not see Glitter.

You guys are forgetting 3000 Miles to Graceland, easily the worst film of 2001 unless Glitter was worse. Man that movie really did suck! My best friend likes EVERYTHING, and I do mean everything, I've never seen a movie he didn't love, but he actually hated 3000 Miles to Graceland. You know it sucks if he didn't even like it, considering we'll go to like 20 movies each summer and he'll like all 20 of them and I'll like perhaps 12 to 15 of them (what can I say, summer is a good season, but winter... ugg).

Guess what is up for tonight guys?!

Rollerball at 9:45, then tomorrow at noon, A Walk to Remember. Then I'm only 3 films off from seeing every film in release at my theater. Big Fat Liar, Return to Neverland, and Snow Dogs will follow this week. I don't expect to give any of these films three stars, so that will extend to TEN straight movies in theaters without me giving a 3 star rating or greater, lol.

Freddy got fingered has to be the worst the title alone deserves (when ever the main joke has to do with a father molesting his son then I have to say the movie is terrible) I know no one that even thought any of it was funny and there doesn't seem a plot to a movie except for Tom Green to find another animal to molest. Sure I do think 3000 Miles to Graceland wasn't great either but Freddie got Fingered was worse and will probably sweep the Razzies.

Did you actually see them both?! 3000 Miles to Graceland is way worse.

I give it 0 stars, but Freddy Got Fingered does deserve one star. It was pretty funny in some parts, even though it was totally and utterly stupid, it still had a few good moments at least where I definitely laughed. It was funnier than Super Troopers actually, haha, but that isn't saying much.

Rollerball, by the way, was not that bad. I gave it 2.5 stars, just saw it tonight and I have my review too (wrote 7 reviews today!). I thought it was unfairly hammered, yet it was still entertaining. It was not a good movie, no, but it had nifty cinematography and some nice visuals, kind of glitzy, obviously not trying to have a real plot, but visually it was pretty appealing and the acting was fine. Script was not that bad, didn't bother me. I've seen way worse films lately.

I have now seen 12 of the 15 movies my local theater is showing, but 13 after tomorrow (with A Walk to Remember at noon). I will finish the last two off soon.

Then at Tigard, I have already seen 9 of the 11 films they play, but I'll go to see both of the two I haven't seen this week for sure. The Royal Tenenbaums, might actually be good I hope, and Return to Neverland, which probably is not any good but I want to see EVERYTHING :)

By Thursday, I should be at 15/15 at Evergreen and 11/11 at Tigard, so a total of 17 films in release at those two theaters and I'll have seen them all! Muahaha. Pity me ;) j/k

March is looking way better, way, way better, but still a lot of crap. I'm liking the weekend of the 15th, though. March will not be too rough, except that stupid 40 Days, 40 Nights. There is a big "F*CK YOU" from Hollywood!

I saw A Walk to Remember today. Mandy Moore is a good actress, way better than Britney, ugg. The film itself was only decent, 2 stars...

It's depressing too, not the type of film I like, a depressing chick flick. That's the worst kind, good lord, I was going to give it 2.5 but the last 30 minutes ruined that idea and nearly dropped it to 1.5.

I have seen 13 of the 15 films Evergreen is playing. I will hit the last two on Wednesday and Thursday I believe, although I have to see those two at Tigard too, plus Amelie and Gosford Park at Fox Tower 10, so I'm going to be very busy.

I'll let you guys know when the site launches (it'll be a kind of splashy premiere with massive advertising within the next week I hope, hehe, kinda neat). I got good news today, actually, the technical problems I was having with the domain have been worked out. It's only a matter of time now, perhaps the test site will be up within 24 hours and then I can tell my designer what to change/fix/scrap, etc, and he'll be able to work with me for a few days until we perfect it. Then my own work is massive, putting up about 90 reviews and coding them all (which is not too tough, mostly, but putting the Amazon.com links into them is going to be very time consuming, overall it'll take about two days I think). Plus I have link exchanges to do and affiliate programs to setup, tracking and surveying to do, that kind of thing. Lots of hard work with the launch of any Website, but this one should be very fun.

Most review sites run by one person or even a few are putting up perhaps 2 movie reviews per week, sometimes 1, sometimes 3 or 4. I will be going for 20 per week starting in about two weeks, and continuing for a few months. Then I'll dip down to maybe 7 to 10.

The site will have box office figures updated weekly on Mondays and daily news updates on the film industry (although daily means that perhaps if there is nothing to say on Sat. and Sun., nothing will be said).

The newsletter will probably be sent twice per week to begin with, which will be Saturday (with new releases reviewed) and Tuesday (with news on new DVD releases and hopefully reviews in many cases).

Ok, time to sleep for me so I can go get Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and The Musketeer tomorrow. I still have to review Jay and Silent Bob, even though I already saw it, so I'll be doing that tomorrow too, haha :)
