Arya Ravenwing
Feb 24th, 2002, 03:23:06 AM
Arya sat in the spaceport on one of Duros' orbital cities, waiting for the shuttlebus that would take her to the Wing of the Raven's docking bay. She had some things to check up on, and then had an appointment to get to. A "dinner date" if you like, with a potential employer. After being out of any real work for several months, it was proving difficult to get into the swing of things again.
Smuggling wasn't glamorous, but it did keep food on the table and creds in her pockets. She checked her chrono again, and noticed someone walking towards her out of the corner of her eye. What now?

(Coruscant.)
(The galactic capital.)
(The home of commerce and civilization in the universe.)
(A gigantic city, swallowing a world cruely and continuing to stak itself into the heavens.)
(Many a dregg called the world home, and many more would fly in for buisness and leave, unable to, for long periods of time anyway, tolerate the filth and corruption lacing the air. Worse than the horrible pollution that blanketted industrial worlds such as Duro and Bilbringi, the pollution here was one you couldn't see or smell... but it was there, and it weakened or hardened you the longer you spent exposed to it. The world had been cut off from the rest of the universe by heavy security pickets and checkpoints, but those were easy enought to get through... the middle class of a society is always it's most corruptable class, and the same was true for the galactic empire.)
(Ayra Ravenwing was not inherently good or evil... she, like most, was part of the equilibriam of the universe... she anchored somewhere near the middle, her moral compass functioned and for the most part nothing she did would hurt the lives of others. She was certainly not the usual variety he consorted with, but she had made a name for herself in many different circles.... and that was something he envied in her.)
(He approached, dressed, as always, in simple black cloak and a pair of black trunks which provided minimal protection and maximum mobility. With no effort wasted, he removed the dual-sided lightsaber from it's holster on the back of his belt. He navigated the crowd with ease... he knew where they were all going by risidual noise, and he quickly noticed Ayra saw him focused on her.)
"Ayra Ravenwing... I was wondering if I could buy you a drink?"
(The handle of the saber flashed from the lights above. She knew what he wanted, and the move now was her's.)

She didn't know how she knew, but somehow Arya sensed that this newcomer was trouble. And there was the proof of it, a lightsaber pommel in his hand, from the length of it, a doublebladed weapon. Dark or Light, she didn't know or care. They were all trouble in one way or another.
She eased the catch on her blaster holster on her hip while she casually got to her feet. "A drink? Nah, Mister, I'm waiting for the 'bus." Blaster under her jacket, railgun, NRSF issue on her hip, also concealed by her three quarter length black nerfhide jacket. Arya did not move away, nor did she move closer to the stranger. Next move is yours, will this be trouble or not?

"Not thirsty?"
(The weapon came up to chest level, held with one end pointed at her and the other over his left shoulder. He twisted it behind him, and held it there. He shot her a frown.)
"Well, if you're not thirsty... maybe we could go dancing?"
(He looked her up and down, looking at his own feet to follow.)
"These aren't really dancing shoes... but, let's find a quiet place and I can show you a few steps."
(He gave her an arrogant grin.)
(I have no qualms with killing civilans... do you?)

Arya recognized his tone of voice. Here was a classic trouble maker, who didn't care where it came from or who had to die to satisfy the lust of the kill. The spaceport was bustling with people, old and young, Duro, human and otherwise. She forced a smile, and edged to the right slightly, so that if the saber were ignited it would not impale her.
"Perhaps over there?" She pointed towards what appeared to be a quiet rooftop courtyard. He turned to look -
- and before he could so much as blink she had drawn the railgun and placed it to his forehead. "Or maybe we can just wait for the troopers to get here." Her eyes were steel and her voice deadly calm.

(The saber was gone... but not forgotten, fastened to his pants. The woman had the sembelance of control and for the moment he would let her think it was more.)
"You can lead, if it's that important."
(He put his hands on his head and turned around. His smile hidden from her and even more arrogant than before.)
"You know this place better than I, anyway."

Arya laughed unexpectedly as the Force user placed his hands on his head and turned around. She kept the railgun touching him, on the back of his skull now, and then reached around and unclipped the saber, tossing it away from them. "You don't understand. Why don't you follow your toy and get lost. Or give me an excuse to pull this trigger. Of course, that would involve getting your brains and ichor all over my clean clothes.
"But, for you, I'm willing to foot the drycleaning bill." Arya's finger tightened on the trigger.

"Well, now, it's truly a shame."
(He gave a resigned sigh. Suddenly, he broke out in a run for his weapon.)
(Of course, he had only made about three feet when the slug slammed through his skull and sent him to the ground, blood rapidly pooling in the Coruscant street.)

Arya frowned as the man started to run, and simply pulled the trigger. CRACK-BANG! The railgun's report echoed throughout the spaceport, causing Duros' to dash for cover. The hollow point projectile bullet exploded a second after impact, effectively blowing the Force adept's brains out.
Quite literally, of course.
Arya swore violently as security droids zeroed in on her position, and then the shuttlebus she had been waiting for arrived. There was a Duros police speeder trailing it, and she did not hesitate to act.
Within a few seconds she had slammed her elbow unexpectedly into the officer's face, and hefted him off of the speeder. Turning it around the 'bus, Arya throttled for the landing dock were The Wing of the Raven was magnetically sealed in and secured with clamping arms.
She would be there in two minutes.

(He qurked an eyebrow.)
(Daring.)
(Ahnk didn't think she had it in her... forget killing an unarmed man. To blatently slap around a law officer was something he wouldn't have atrributed to her.)
(He scratched the back of his head. He could swear he still felt the hole.)
(Well, technically his entire head had become a hole, but he had fortunatly missed that part.)
(All right Ahnk... plan B. Skip the cops, jump onto the speeder, and imaple the bitch.)
(She was almost to her ship, so he kicked the sweeop onto full power and made sure he had saber in hand.)
