For the past few months, I've been lurking on E-Bay. Occaisionally, when I see a decent price on something, I'll bid on it. But I'm always outbid by the other, over-zealous bidders out there. I've bid on about 30 items, and not won a single auction. It had almost become a game: I hardly expected to win any of the auctions, and I refuse to go past what I consider a reasonable amount of money for something.

But earlier this morning, while in a severe sleep-deprived state (just ask Gav!), I stumbled across this niche little auction for a unique Alice in Wonderland poster. Now, I have just the slightest interest in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (ignore the Cheshire Cat avatar :p), so it definitely caught my attention. The auction had been going for 10 days so far without a single bid, and it was sitting happily at $6.00

"What the hay?", I think. I set my maximum bid to $10, and leave for work. I get home, and what do you know: I won the auction for a whopping $6.50 - Not a single other person had bid on it. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with my first acquisition via E-Bay, and thought I'd share. :)

But what is mad? How do you define mad? If it is a deviation from the normal... then if we are all mad, then do we not all become normal and the normal mad? what if this normal is only there to keep mad people from not grouping together, to disparage the normal madness? What if madness takes control and......

I'm still really unsure of Ebay. Dont fully trust it. But you do find some cool stuff there :)

Well, you just have to be a bit cautious with how you bid. For example:
I'm selling the PS2 game Silent Hill 2. It doesn't come with the instruction manual or gamebox, and the artwork on the CD looks a little funny, but it works fine! I got these wholesale, and I'm passing on the savings to you. The starting bid is $0.50, and I only have 50 copies, so please hurry!I actually saw an auction like that. Needless to say, I ignored it and moved along. :)
