The database’s use of encryption for PWs is so good that even the Admin’s can’t access a user’s PW, even with hacks, (vB admins and hackers have been trying and failing) so I think security is pretty good. Admins can however reset them. >D

Actually I wasnt thinking about user passwords. I was thinking more along the lines of a what if attack against the actual database itself, using a parser. I'm sure that has been thought of before and secured against, which is why I was wondering if it was a hack or "feature". If it aint a feature, then it's cleary no issue.

Attacking the database would require access to it directly which is no simple task, and I am certian the developers have built in good security for that. I think Nup and I are the only ones with the correct info to access the DB directly on this particular host because of information provided us by the host. So its all good. :)

Which is why the first attack method would be a parser (which would bypass other security if it was allowed) and which is also why I said it would greatly surprise me if that hadn't been secured against :)

Are the user pw's stored in an MD5 hash? If they are, I'd have to agree - absolute fat chance anyone's going to break that in a hurry.
