Technologies of the Republic of Kai:
A Brief Overview

The people of Kyranus gained something by their centuries of peaceful isolation which few societies to; a chance to focus on scientific advancements. Because the atmosphere of Kyranus creates excess friction, thereby creating inordinate amounts of static electricity, many of the Kyranian inventions focused on utilizing this powerful technology.

While some of these are admittedly far-fetched, for anyone who actually bothers to read my techno-babble, please look at them with an open mind, remembering that laser swords and faster-than-light travel aren't exactly distinct possibilities either. Anyone concerned about the Republic of Kai trying to god-mode with these needn't worry- at the end of the day, these are more different than better.

For each of the normal SW universe techs, I've listed the Kai equivalent with an explanation. Enjoy.

Blasters- Tesla EMBlaster (Electro-Magnetic Blaster): While blasters tightly pack energy into cohesive bursts of light, tesla EMBlasters ionize large portions of fuel, packing them into bolts of pure electricity. Because of the unique polarization process these blasters use, the blast is a thin, ovular shape- thin enough to appear much like a blaster bolt, but white with a blue hue- and is not required to 'link' to the ground, as other forms of electricity are. While this process requires both electricity and fuel, the people of Kyranus have created a synthetic fossil fuel which expands when charged, allowing them to pack roughly three hundred small blasts into a cartrage.

Lasers/Turbolasers/Turboblasters- Tesla EMLaser/EMTurbolaser/EMTurboblaster: Utilizing the same principle as the EMBlasters, these instruments of destruction create blasts on a larger scale.

NOTE: In use, these weapons proved to have an effect similar to ION cannons, albeit a subdued version, in addition to their damaging effects.

Repulsorlifts- E-Repelifts (Electro-Repel Lifts): By using the basic principle of the repelling of similar charges, and the principle of charged ground, E-Repelifts use sensors to determine the electric charge of the ground which the vehicle using them is on. Once this is determined, it creates a field below the ship of the same charge, but emitting a thin and specially designed gas and charging it accordingly. The sensors work dynamically, so that the charge can be changed with the terrain. While the gas requires that the craft have a fuel supply, it is basic enough to be synthesized by the onboard systems, so the supply is replenished quickly enough that the ship never needs to refuel, save in conditions of extremely constant use.

Ship Engines- EMEngines (Electro-Magnetic Engines): Because traditional engines already worked on the principle of releasing ions, the Kyranians changed them very little- except for creating an 'ion recycling' system in the reactor, whereby electrons removed from one set of particles to create ions are added to others, to create more. This roughly doubles the effectiveness of the engines.

Energy Shields- Negshielding (Negative Shielding): By creating a field of negatively charged, specially designed particles, the Republic of Kai ships can create a constant shield, without wasting energy. The charges run in a constant stream, and, because lasers work by the process of adding electrons to gas matter to create energized particles, or by using pure electrons, the negatively charged particles absorb these electrons- effectively neutralizing the blast, and doing do without explosion or expulsion of energy. Also, the particles automatically allocate particles to areas where they are needed, by the natural process of oppositely charged particles attracting. Like normal shields, negshields can be rendered ineffectual, by having all the particles recieve electrons, thereby neutralizing them.

Proton Torpedoes- EMTorpedoes: These specially engineered torpedoes carry a static charge throughout the body, and an electrical current within the core of it. When a torpedo impacts on the hull of a ship, both of the charges are transferred in the explosion, causing damage to a the electrical systems aboard.

allowing them to pack several hundred thousand small blasts into a cartrage.

That's the only thing that seems to be a problem. A typical blaster has 250 shots, you should restrict yourself to something like that.

As for the rest..... actually, there are technical equivalents in Star Wars. I personally dont see any other issues / problems, becuase they to a main could / do exist.

Right, right, I should have thought of that.

Tesla Cannon is already Used by "TOF Zone Warrioirs" :)

Interesting. :) I just finished reading the first book of the New Jedi Order books..and after trying to imagine the Vong and all their living weapons, this seems a lot simpler. :D

Sieken, while it incorporates the name "tesla" into it, the weapons seem to have absolutely nothing to do with your group's tech.

Mmm...yeah...moving to fleet OOC
