View Full Version : RP plans regarding TSE remnant

In the Fondor thread, I made a mention of a "General Tossk" who has pretty much assumed command of what is left of the TSE military on-planet, and plans to offer battle to the Imperial forces that are about to take Fondor.

I'll be honest; when I said intra-galactic war, I didn't quite mean intra-galactic NPC war :(. As a result, I'm improvising. We can't exactly have a 30-post planetary assault with no enemy, right?

My plan is to create a "Warlord Tossk" account. The general plan for Tossk is that he escapes from Fondor, and organizes a resistance against the Empire using what military forces are left, something that would create a quagmire for the Empire to advance in.

If any skilled RPers wish to collaborate with me on this project, I'd be happy to share the account once I register it. At this point I'm still trying to figure out what pic to use for Tossk. Admiral Isoto is a bit too mediocre.

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

Then you'd need to talk to Sums on that one.

Sounds good to me. I will ask Sums to make sure that it is ok, but I give it two thumbs up. :)

Would ten posts be acceptable to the RP community?

My plans for Bespin, since there are only floating cloud cities and no grounds to assault, is to hve one of the orbital stations to have survived the destruction of the SE evacuation.

IS this acceptable also to TSE?

Yes you can. Everyone else can stretch a planetary takeover, even unopposed out to over 100's of posts. Setting up shop with a handful is not fair play when groups like TSE, TSO, GJO and NRSF have done their accquisitions to the 30 post rule and gone way beyond normally.

So why can't TGE?

If you cant have the patience to go within the established rule, then dont do it at all.

(If Viscera can think up names for all his capital ships, lets not call him impatient. ;)) I think he meant that it wasn't as much fun as actually RPing against someone, as was the original intent of the "war" planned against TSE.

Of course, I could be wrong. Doing 30 posts by ones self can take a while. But its not impossible. (esp. if they are one sentance posts! *sees a loophole* ;) j/k)

On second thought...Vis, get on AIM sometime. I have an interesting idea to make this fun for TGE and fair under the rules.

unless TSE has a problem with it, I think that is fine Vis. It is a logical occurence

Not quite sure why you would need my approval, I'm not with TSE. You would have to contact a member of the council if you needed some type of permission or something along those lines.

Telan: If you want one of the orbital battlestations (and it would have to be one of them cause the platforms are dead without the command and control of the battlestations) then I ask that I'm allowed to post as a NPC running the station and the fighters housed within. I warn you though, they were designed specifically to combat GMA/TGE forces, and are nasty little buggers, so up to you if you want to risk taking one of them on.

Oh and that's not saying that one could completely hold you off, but that you would take losses before you could destroy her.

If you cant have the patience to go within the established rule, then dont do it at all.

If the rules exclude the one party from having a fun roleplaying experience, as in the example you suggested, then the rules be damned. Rules are not made solely for the benefit of maintaining them, please keep track of the reason that we have them in the first place.

I don't anticipate the requirement of approval beyond those people who wish to collaborate on this project.

That's a refreshing thing to hear, Daegal :). I'd be delighted to hear your idea.

Herr Rayial,

I would be more than willing for you to be in command of the station in question if you agree to the following terms:

You agree to the rank of Lieutenant, because I want it to be a shock to my character that he is being opposed by a junior officer.

You give me the specs of the battle platform

You agree to use a fighter compliment of three TIE Defender squadrons and two Avenger squadrons and three Corellian bulk transports, which wou flee on after I disable the station.

Acceptable?

This is at Bespin BTW

That's agreeable but with a one counter point.

That you understand that the LT that I'll be playing will not allow for the Battle Station to be captured. If it's disabled he would initiate the self destruct systems.

Also I don't plan on making a new name for this, so I'll simply be posting in this name if we are agreed.

As for the fighters, as you see below they aren't the normal type carried on the Stations, but I can adapt.

Designer: Sumor Rayial

Do you agree that all but about twenty squads of your Razors are gone?

Using the same account is fine. As long as the char is an Lt.

The reason why that rule was put there was to stop people like you and Gue from just taking over the Universe with a wave of the hand. it was made to discourage planetary takeover on a whim and to ensure some real effort had to take place. I know it may sound rude to point you out now, given that you have made extenive efforts to redeem yourself, but that's the reason it began in the first place. I believe it is a good rule (Actually, it's more of a guideline) and should stay and be used.

Now, I could think of plenty of ways to take planet in 20-30 posts by myself and have a boatload of fun.

I don't see whats wrong with posting 20-30 posts on your on. Just be creative. Like me. I have a few twists for Dubrillion.

I assure you, claiming the universe with the wave of a hand is the last thing on my mind. I simply prefer to have someone to compete with.

Sums-if I may call you that-

I should be ready to engage the station/battle platform in a post or two. You will notice. The fighter compliment coming around the planet is engaged and destroyed, I wonder where it came from, and move my escort group around Bespin to find out where. I see the station, and that's where you come in.

Acceptable?

Works for me.

Just post here when your ready. I don't usually check more than OOC during the day because of time constraints.
