Would it be possible to design a telescopic digital camera with enough light gathering capacity to act as a video out telescope? The telescope would output a video stream via S-Video or RCA composite jacks to a TV or VCR or computer, or you could rig an inexpensive LCD panel module to the scope.
Is there a digital camera out there that can work in conjuction with telescope optics, at a high enough resolution that it can display stars and planets without identifying the signal as pitch black? I imagine that if such a device does exist, it costs a pretty penny O_o
