Yep, you dont know what it means, give it the dumb name. It's an insult to the makers

Kung Fu Soccer replacing Shaolin Soccer? Now granted, Shaolin isn't exactly a word that's thrown around water coolers in the U.S. everyday, but I'm pretty sure the movie posters and trailers would have filled in the blanks. But I guess this goes back to the old Carradine TV show. You've got a Shaolin priest roaming the old west so lets call the TV show Kung Fu! Personally, I think the original title sounds better. I don't know why the change was necessary. But I hate soccer anyway so it won't factor in my decision to stay home. ;)

I hate most US sports, but Id still go toa film if it was meant to be good. And this one is looking it.

Who knows what the reason is they probably are just trying to get more people into the theater but I doubt it will work either way.

American advertisers have to dumb some things down. Many US regions that might not have as diverse a population or isolated from the media are not culturally savvy international-wise. Others perhaps had to sacrifice their education for various reasons. There would probably be a surprisnig amount of people who are not familiar with Kung Fu, much less Shaolin.

But it sells the film wrong too. Kung Fu is fighting, Shaolin is monks. Jeez, even Monkball would be better!

Hmmm, now that I'm actually thinking about the movie itself, it doesn't sound too promising in the first place.

If it was called Monkball I'd probably go see it. That's a hilarious title!:lol
