I'm guessing it's out of a book, movie, or game.

You know what I find funny? It took PS2 devs about a year to put out some decent games.

I'm surprised they were able to write anything at all for such a limited piece of hardware. A 295mhz processor, 32 megs of high-latency RDRAM, 4 megs of video ram? Sounds like a frankenstein i815e. Ol' Betsy here is much more reliable, ever since I got her souped up six ways from sunday.

*Injects his computer with the day's supply of coolant*

Awww crap, lemme run out to the store, pick up another can of Freon! Gotta love those fluorocarbons, they keep Ol' Betsy from melting when I run her at ludicrous speed. It's not easy encoding an 87 gigabyte raw AVI to MPEG-4v3 @ a 640x308 Bressenham compressed pseudo-bicubic resize filter, especially when you need to stay within 538kbps for your video track and set qval=2 for VBR-MP3 Lame 3.91 encoding. Ask Neo Neko, he knows what I'm talking about!

Oh yeah?! Thats nothing! I got that one..*trails off*. With a shshhsbrgag and a *trails off*. Ah, screw it. I gotta hunk of steaming, quivering monkey **** for a computer.

Darth Viscera
Jan 5th, 2002, 03:17:27 PM
That so? Huh. Well, I guess if you run tubes of copper into monkey ****, you can make it conductive monkey ****, and work from there. Wouldn't you have to be able to purify the monkey **** about 60 billion times per second, though?

Although I've got to admit, that's a good idea. Monkey **** is an excellent heat insulator/dissipator, and it vaporizes at 160 C. Believe me, I know! *sniff*

The direction of this thread has taken a lackluster turn. It must be brought back to its proper path.

"We are merely passengers on the wheel of destiny, describing a perfect circle to this point.

We have been brought here for a reason.

I have seen the beginning and the end of our story, however - and the tale is crude and ill-conceived.

We must rewrite the ending of it, you and I."

Lame VBR rules.

True. Their standalone encoder is the best out there, and it sure beats encoding through Lame ACM with Nandub. Much faster, that little command prompt app is.

*Runs to his bookshelf and opens something by Gene Wolfe*

"The minstrel boy to the war is gone,
In the ranks of death you'll find him;
His father's sword he has girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him.
Land of Song! said the warrior bard,
Though all the world betrays thee,
One sword at least thy rights shall guard,
One fiathful harp shall praise thee..."
