I'll be brief, since I'm sure few have seen it. Crowe is magnificent...the film is not what you expect. I wouldn't be surprised if it won Best Picture. It IS one of the 3 best films of the year IMHO. When it expands...GO SEE IT!

Think I might. It got a good rating at IMDB too.

I heard that Crow undertook an amazing, oscar-worthy transformation into a bumbling mathematician, but the movie itself is seen as cheesy and somewhat slow.

I saw it last night. It is indeed a little slow, but it is very good. Crowe is just great in this one.

This movie interested me especially, because I'll be attending Princeton University next fall and will hopefully get a chance to meet John Nash, who is still a professor there. Although A Beautiful Mind was mostly fiction, the character that Crowe played is real. Although I don't think he became crazy in real life.....

He did have that condition...though in a different fashion(from what I heard).

Yeah. Today on Entertainment Tonight they sorta described what Nash had as an "illness." I'd guess probably some sort of mental disorder that affected the functioning of his brain. What was the problem in the movie? Did he simply lose his mind?

"This really looks dull as dishwater, I'll go see something else"

Amen, there's a good man. Way to be decisive.

It is duller than dishwater, though, so that is where you are wrong. Much duller. If you want to go see a bad film, then just go all out and see Mulholland Deadend, I man Drive I guess it is. That way, you can say you saw the worst film of the year, not just the most boring film (Beautiful Mind).
