View Full Version : I hope this LOTR DVD news isn't true

I have heard that apparently, the DVDs will come out every..................August.

And more, apparently the DVDs wont have the full treatment, in order for the Directors Cuts in 2004.

I'm not too concerned... I figure this will be a big marketing ploy - bring out the movies individually, and then when that is all done, bring out a box set with some extras to get people to buy the movies twice. As much as I liked the movies, I am going to wait until all three are available and get them once as a set with the extras. In the meantime, there is always Blockbuster...

Hey, I got my second star... Yay!!! Now I only have what, 4500 more posts until my third star... :rolleyes

I thought I read though there was going to be director's cut in August with 30 minutes of new footage, but I haven't heard anything recently about it, they could still be talking it over and see what they want to do.

In the meantime, there is always Blockbuster... Which I work at... hence, free rentals! :D

I'm still not sure if I can wait until the boxed set (which will undoubtably come) to buy them.

and JMC: That's 40 minutes, actually. Jackson had to cut 40 minutes out of the theatrical release, which will be put back in the DVD (supposedly). :)

Speaking of that system, what prompts the huge gap between 2 stars and 3? to get more people to post more often?

It just maintains the pattern for simplicity:

1 star - 50 posts
2 stars - 500 posts
3 stars - 5000 posts

Each one increases by a factor of 10. It just seemed an easier way to keep track of the ranks.

BTW, Reaper is looking to be the first to 5000 (he's currently on 4600 or thereabouts). :)
