I decided to try and learn to write a speak Japanese, and it is hard as Hell! There are THREE different written versions of the stuff! I was planning on writing some stuff in japanese on my homework, and seeing what the teacher would do, but this is harder than I thought!

I have decided not to learn any more languages. Between English, Latin, German, and Italian, and smatterings of Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese....I am starting to get confused.

I even caught myself on an italian test writing "Ich trinke wein" instead of "Io bibo vino". :(

My brain is full of junk :(

I think Japanese would be easier for me than a romance language.

I pick up German quickly tho, maybe I should try Russian.

The accent is easy but all the words are long and hard to pick up. O_o German is easy enough since a lot of the words are stupid and therefore easy to remember :D

I had a difficult time learning the Russian alphabet. Hard for me to concieve one with 37 letters/sounds.

37 is nothing. :) Just wait until you try to learn Kanji.

I knew Russian fairly well in 5th grade. My whole Gifted class had to learn it. Kind of fun, but I forget just about everything now.

And I think my Japanese is starting to slip... need to brush up.

I've wanted to learn German or Russian for awhile (it's melodic in a strange sense to me). But you want a real hard language to learn...

American English! Yes, our engish is the most difficult language in the world to learn (as one word can have as many as twenty [or more!] meanings).

Only purely English raised children can do that. Trying to teach none english speaking children english is very difficult, as we have a complex grammatical system in comparison to there's - or so I'm told.

Tell me about it. Isn't the kanji rangeing somewhere around 2000 different symbols? And then there's the radicals for the kanji, katakana, and hiragana...

well I have a lot of friends from japan and in japan and they all think english is easier then japanese. its one of the most difficult languages but certainly not the most difficult

Japanese is difficult because of it being comprised of three different writing sets (Kanji, Katakana, and I can't remember the third). It's actually quite simple once you understand it :)

the third one is hiragana, and yes they should be easy once you understand them.

The trick is getting to be able to understand them! :)

yeah english is also easy once you understand it! calculus is easy once you understand it! Quantum Physics is easy once you understand it! (well I did find that one easy but then I understood it!!!) anyway you get my point
