Yeah, I am only a mild fan, and that is for the Beatles, not for any particular member in general, but it is a shame - he was a member of one of the greatest bands in history that defined a generation...

Although I really dislike ALL of the beatles music, they did indeed define a generation:)

I am little too you to really appreciate them but they were probably the best and most important musical group ever. They really created the music that we now know and created some of the best songs ever (All you need is Love, Yesterday, etc). Now there are only two left and I do find it a little sad to see him go.

I've alwyas liked the Beatles. They started out as a pop band and then evolved into something special. About the only modern comparison that I could think of to describe them would be a group that started out as popular as INStink (only with the ability to write and play their own music) and then ended up writing stuff as good as U2 or REM. Hey Jude, Lucy In the Sky, Revolution, etc.. You could go on and on. The Quiet Beatle has passed on. :(
