Kal Jericho

OOC: This is an opening roleplay for my new character. I don't know how, if or why anybody would want to join in, but regardless, it's open. If you've got a good enough reason to join in, please do.

The Imperial Correctional Facility on Kessel was never the most hospitable of places to spend the last 5 years of your life. Wake up, or rather get woken up, at sunrise. Work a six hour shift down in the spice mines. Haul your way back up to the surface in time for the last five minutes of breaskfast, then it's back down into the dark for more fun and games. 6 hours later, dinner time. After that (which only lasted fifteen minutes if you were lucky)...bet you can't guess! Back to the mines! But here's where it gets interesting. If you'd been a good boy, you could spend the last hour of work in the kitchen, cleaning up something that even a pig would refuse to live in. And it was for this reason that Kal Jericho had decided to bust out of prison on the day of his execution...

On the day of execution, you didn't have to do any work. Instead, you spent half the day in your cell, where you were supposed to "reflect" on the things you'd done in your life. After that, you were allowed an hour to yourself outside in the yard before you were escorted to the execution room. Kal's lucky stars had picked out lethal injection for him. But Kal didn't fancy being jacked up for good. Instead, he had other plans. He woke up to the usual sound of the cellblock warden walking past the cells playing that god-awful music. It was enough to make the dead cringe in their sleep. The sound of metal scraping across a stone loor could be heard as the cell dors opened up. All but Kal's.

He lay on his stomach on his bed, facing the celldoor, watching as the other inmates walked past. Each and every one of them looked at him with a grin on their dirty faces. Kal was greeted by rows of blackened and yellow, grimey teeth and the occasional gap or two from the friendly residents of D-Block. One of the wretched creatures stopped by Kal's cell, gloating about something. The old man dangled something from a piece of string just inside the bars as he giggled to himself. Kal was fooling around with a small ball in his hands just in front of the dusty bed he lay on. He hurled the white sphere at the corner of his cell just next to the bars. The ball hit a large wooden pole, which fell and crashed down upon the old man' hands, breaking his wrists and causing him to drop the object which gave him so much joy. Kal instantly jumped up and picked up the small chain. It was a silver chain, with a small pendent attached to it. An eagle surrounded by a wreath. He unlocked the chain and put it around his neck, securing it firmly. Kal them bent down to the old man who now lay on his face with his hands still inside the bars. He grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and hoistd him up and pulled hard, pinning the ancient geezer against the bars...

"I told ya I'd get my pendent back before I left ya, didn't I Rifki?"

Kal moved the old coot away from the bars by roughly even inches before slamming him back against them with a crack, and then throwing him back into the crowd of passers-by...

"Now get the hell outta here before I take you with me!"

The snivveling old beggar gasped with fear before scampering off towards the exit that led to the mine entrance. Kal sat back down on the lice-infested matress. He held the pendent in his hand, smiling to himself. It had been a gift that his daughter had made for him when she was seven. The last time he had seen her was when she was thirteen years old. That was almost five years ago. A tear formed in Kal's eye as he thought about her and his wife. The three of them Corellians, though Kal came from the Corellian district of Nar Shaddaa whilst his beautiful wife and daughter had the pleasure of being raised on the planet itself. Kal wiped the tear away quickly before standing up and looking out of his cell as best he could. The inmates had all left now. It was just Kal and the guards. All of the wearing the traditional white armour that was practically useless against a blaster bolt. According to Kal, the only thing it was good for was hiding the scared little Imperial nitwit behind the blaster rifle.

Several hours later, Kal was outside with his eyes closed, allowing the cool, Kessel-wind run through his hair. Suddenly, his eyes snaped open to the sound of the gate being unlocked. A pair of guards were standing at the door with their stun baton's in hand. One of them shouted over to Kal...

"Let's go Inmate 311259! It's time!"

Kal sighed with a small, unnoticable grin on his face. As he turned to meet them, he muttered something under his breath...

"Sure thing fellas! Wouldn't want to miss the midnight express would I?"

*The Eternal Dark landed on the Kessel landing bay, using an old code from when he was one of Vaders Wards. Mhalbrecht landed his ship, and waited for the Stormtroopers to investigate.
In a few minutes, a couple of Stormtroopers atempted to gain entry to the apearingly battered freighter. The Door opened easily, and the walked in.
Mhalbrecht shot them with his customized blaster pistol, making sure to shoot one in the black mesh of his suit joints.
He put on the armour, and picked up the blaster. He then closed up the ship, and made his way into the prison.
He reported to prison command that it had been a smuggler in the ship, coming in for stolen spice, and his partner had been shot.
Mhalbrecht then went to the execusion room. He shot the security camera, then the guard.
When the other Troopers investigate, he said that the trooper on the ground had shot hte camera, but he had killed the perpetrator.
Mhalbrecht then waited for the man he was here to save be brought in.*
