Its seems there are less films in the box office then usually, mostly I guess because so many films have been pushed back to next year so far here are the films pushed back
Collateral Damage
Big Trouble both because of the WTC tragedy

Time Machine because the time period (they thought at the time) was too competive for it.

The Same with The Count of Monte Cristo which has been moved to Feb

Gangs of NY The movie is getting bad vibes allready the film cost 100 million and Miramax figures it will not get any Oscars so they have decided to push it back to March and hope Scorsese gets it right

Wintalkers got moved to next summer for some unknown reason

Company of Men A film starring Hopkins and Chris Rock has been delayed because of its content.

This doesn't count ALI which got pushed back about two weeks so they could finish the movie. Now here are the major films we are left with
Oct
Bandits, which looks bad
Corky Romano, its based on SNL character so I have my doubts
The Last Castle, the previews make it look good
From Hell, the new Jack the Ripper Film which does look scary
K Pax, Kevin Spacey new film
13 Ghosts, a supernatural comedy

Nov
Monsters INC, will be big with kids
Life as a House, Hayden Christiansen's first film before EP 2
Heist, starring Gene Hackman
Harry Potter, I don't think need to say what this is about
Black Knight, Martin Lawerence in another loose remake of the Mark Twain classic A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's court
Spy Game, starring Redford and Pitt
Texas Rangers, a film that has been delayed for over a year

Dec
Oceans 11, I had read reports that it was going to be dealyayed because they had to change a scene but I looked it up and this date is still listed
Not another teen movie, not another one is right
Vanilla SKy, something with Tom Cruise in it
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, need I say this biggest movie of the winter
now here is where it gets interesting Upcoming Movies list 4 films opening on the 21, not countin LOTR which opens on the 19 here they are
Joe Somebody, a Tim allen comedy
The Majestic, the new Jim Carrey movie
Kate and Leopold, some time traveling film with Meg Ryan in it
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, some animated movie by Nickelodeon
Then on the Christmas day ALI

Now this does not count all the small movies and films released just to get Oscar consideration but except for the end of Dec the rest of the year looks like there are less films. Now the Box office will not be hurt because the three big films Harry Potter, LOTR, and Monsters INC will all do well I think. I still don't know what the studios are think about putting all those movies against LOTR that is suicide especially when two of the sound terrible. (maybe they want them to plument I have no clue). Now the Majestic I can understand because its an Oscar type film and will be around until next March but the others just doesn't make much sense.

SOOooooo since just about every damn movie I was waiting to see has been pushed back I'll probably end up seeing some that I usually would have used for rental fodder.

I just read the back issue of ET weekly ,and to be honest ALMOST all the fall movies look like Poop.Maybe From Hell will be decent (if I can stand to look at Heather germ)

LOTR(Wood is to goofy too star in any movie let alone a movie based on a classic. what did surprise me was they filmed all the for less than 300 mil.

So I guess 'heist' movies are big this year.

Looks that way Darth, I saw the previews to the Heist and it doesn't look that far off from The Score but instead of Norton vs Denerio you got Hackman vs Devito. I'd say that is a bit of mismatch. Also I agree the fall looks weak for Oscars at least from the big films its hard to say about the movies coming out in limited release because I know nothing about them except the Royal Tenenbaums staring Gene Hackman and Ben Stiller that I saw the previews for other than that I haven't really read about any.
As far as Wood and LOTR is concerned. Elijah Wood was considered one of the upcoming actors just a few years ago. And he has a lot of talent I saw him in episode of Homicide and he played a character that was completely evil and he did a terrific job. His main problem has been excpeting crappy work like North, Flipper, etc. I think he can act of course acting doesn't matter too much in a fanasty film like LOTR so it may not matter one way or the other.

For anyone interested, the book "K-PAX" was really good in my opinion. I think Kevin Spacey will probably be really good in it, but then again, what ISN'T Kevin Spacey good in?

While people were mentioning the events on 9-11-01 pushing back movie releases, did anyone hear about the two HUGE changes in movies in production or post-production.

Specific scenes of SPIDER-MAN are being re-filmed because of their relation and use of the WTC towers and the ending of MIB2 (Men in Black) is being re-filmed because it centered on the WTC towers.

I also came across an intersting post at some DVD message board or chat room, I can not recall which, but the distributor of the movie: The Siege with Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington are seriously considering recalling it and eliminating it from future pressings until anxiety has died down from all that happened.

Check out K-PAX though, I don't think you will be let down.

What that is just plain stupid, its just a movie it being on the shelves isn't going to hurt anybody. I can understand them not showing it on TV for a while but removing it completely that is just stupid. As far as removing the WTC that is stupid too, I heard a good argument about that from Roger Ebert he got very mad that they were doing it. I think its stupid too especially in Spider Man because that takes place in a comic book world were events like that don't happen because the super heros always prevent it.

I think going back and eliminating the WTC from movies that have already been released is a travesty. Pulling a movie like the Siege from shelves I disagree with as well. These movies were made before this tragedy and they shouldn't be altered because of it. With a movie like Spiderman I think there are some valid reasons for removing the WTC. When Spiderman is released it will probably take place in the same time period as its release. The WTC isn't a part of that "reality" so it shouldn't be there. What I mean is, a movie (even a fantasy) about NYC set in the 1950's wouldn't have TWC because it didn't exist, so a movie set in NYC in 2002 shouldn't have the WTC in it for the same reasons. Not only would the image be a painful reminder, but it wouldn't jibe with what NYC looks like in the Spring of 2002, which is when I assume the story will be taking place. I would remove it not only out of respect for the city and the country, but also because it doesn't represent the NYC of 2002.

Ocean's 11 is the film my best friend and I saw filming in Las Vegas at the Bellagio back last March. We have video footage of Brad Pitt on location, although we got busted for taking that, haha. The casino security told us we cannot be there in the lobby, can't use video equipment, blah blah blah. It was worth it though. Actually seeing a real movie being set up, the whole location process done, then seeing Brad Pitt walk in, even at a distance, was quite awesome!

I saw The Bellagio in the trailer and I cannot wait to see the film too. It looked good and seems to have an all star cast.

I want to see The Last Castle pretty badly. :)
