Say, since this is a new begining for us all here now, at a new board anyway, would it be possible we would be able to get custom titles?

Gue, you have to be an Admin to get a custom title :)

I do believe that the general rule is that there are to be no custom titles.

...

Although there are exceptions. :grumble

I am also of the opinion that giving custom titles is asking for problems later on and would rather keep our standard titles. As for Q, well.......thats another story. :p

Sorry, no custom titles for normal users, lest us admins be obliged to give every single poster one. And that would be no fun once Episode II arrives. :)

No, be happy with your 'SWFans.Net Poster' status. That's all you deserve. :p

Custom tiles are a bad idea in my opinion as well, because of the reasons Davwj mentioned.

How about poster ranks?

Q

No.

Ranks? How owuld you rank someone? Whos to say what rank you are? If you mean ranking by say Jedi Master or Knight or something, then whose rules do we go by, GJO, TVO, TSO, TSE, TGE?

No, all that would be too tedious, especially for every user.

Most certainly no, unless we want the spam problem of TFN (until they dumped theirs) here as well. :\

Besides, you've all got your post totals displayed under your pretty names. :)

Ryu - if ranks were implemented, they'd be based on post count.

No level ranks..

Like: Intermidiate Poster or Newbie. Instead of SWfans.net Poster.

Why "no" to the idea of poster levels going by number of posts? Will it be that much trouble to set up, say, 5 or 6 user levels, and then implement them? They'd definitely go towards establishing who the most frequent posters are. Of course those of us who have been here a while know all of this, and yes post counts do speak in volumes for themselves, but those ranks would sure be nice to have displayed along with the names... and woud they cost the admins any troubles?

I think it would be pretty pointless.

I know lots of people who have plenty of posts but i don't think highly of at all. I see nothing wrong with it as it is.

If it results in anything like every other large board with ranks I have posted on over the past 2 years, most certainly yes. Most of them ended up pulling them - they were that much trouble.

But the final choice is up to Nup and Ogre - if they want to do it then that's fine. But I really don't think its worth it.

I guess you guys are right then. But it did seem like a good idea at first... oh well... :)

Make me an Adm...I'll do Custom Titles. Not like I got anything else to do with my time. LOL!

And the Allspark has them, and they haven't had in Problems.
