View Full Version : Admin/Mod functions and accesses

I discovered this afternoon, that our Mods could not even see this forum, nor could they access the mod control panel. I have since, made some changes and they should now be able to see this forum and access the control panels for them.

The mod control panel is located at:

http://www.swforums.net/forum/mod
(Admins can also access that panel)

And the Admin control panel can be found:

http://www.swforums.net/forum/admin

If you want to have a look at what you can do, please feel free. If you are not confident doing anything inside these panels, please ask either myself(SWFans.net), Nup, or Davwj about it so we can try and explain the function you may be trying to use.

For now, I have given all Mods the ability to ban user names, so that if we do have any sudden spam attacks of poor taste or whatnot, that they can be dealt with quickly by whomever may be around.

Please remember your position and only ban individuals that deserve it in such cases as posting pornographic images or foul trolling/language text. Any other bannings are to be discussed among the entire staff and decided upon as a group.

Another note for those of you or us still getting used to this new software: Simple Mod/Admin functions can be found in a drop down box at the bottom right when within a thread.

Thanks,
Chris

Looks fine to me.

I'm going to go ahead and grant my lurker name, "Q", Moderator powers. Just to let you all know. However, I'm leaving his title as "SWFans.net Poster".

Sticks this topic back at the top again for new and returning mods to see and ask questions if they have them.

Just wanted to mention something that was brought to my attention today, that isn’t stated in this thread. The easiest way to delete single posts from any thread is to just click either of the edit links and then select the Delete checkbox and then click the Delete Now button. If it is the first thread in a topic it will remove the entire topic.

If there are multiple posts to delete in a thread then you can open a thread and choose the Delete Thread/posts option from the drop down at the bottom, or do what I have done on an occasion or two, choose split thread and move the unwanted posts to this forum as a new thread. :)

Moderatorsa have been granted many new abilities and powers on the SWfans.Net @ swforums.net forums. Please see the last few posts in the "Hack list" thread, in this forum, for more details. If there are any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.
