I scratch built it, I did use a resin Trek 3 Comm body for the base but the rest is hand made and machined.

Thanks for the compliments.

Great job! What reference did you base that on? I haven't seen anything about what it looks like until yours.

Again, thanks for the compliments.

I don’t know about the sound. And I don’t know if I can say where I got the references just yet. The only thing I’ve seen it do is light up blue and it has a spring loaded flip top. I don’t know if the screen is correct or not, I’m pretty sure it’s not. That’s why I was hoping some one who has seen the real one could point me in the right direction.

Ok well it doesn’t seem like anybody who has seen it in person wants to say anything, or haven't seen this post. Oh well… It seems that it doesn’t matter because I’ve received half a ton of email regarding how one can purchase it.

Guys this was just something I made for myself, I don’t have any copies or have cast it. I appreciate the kind word and comments but the premiere of the show is in a few weeks when I’m sure more references will pop up and I can make it look a little better. I don’t want to go though the time and expense to cast something that I’m sure is in accurate. Wouldn’t you agree?

Then a little more than a 100 years later...
The "Cage" Communicator.
Following that logic, by the 29th Century they
should be using 2 cans and a string.

Beautiful Prop by the way. :)
