Does anyone know a source for these? I'd like to have a replica costume made. It would have to be accurate of course and would have to be the movie version rather than the TV version.

If anyone has a lead or something, let me know :)

Thanks!

Brian

Kattara ....Ugh!
Six month wait if you're lucky

I've got a few belts left that are bang-on.
Ptbynbrs may still have a costume or two...I sold my last one a few weeks back.
We may do more.
Ask paint..His call on those

Do you mean "these bleeds"?

Sandman belt is pretty easy. Don't really nead a pattern.

1. Take three lengths 3/8" surgical tubing and cover it in black satin.

2. Take two lengths of 1 1/2" or 2" (I think it's two 2", remember you got seams to account for) wide elastic and sew one of the lengths of covered tube between them and then one on each edge.

3. Cut a linnig for it out of whatever and stitch it on inside out, then reverse it. Stitch the ends closed.

4. Add velcro for closure.

5. Add "beads". Although I've been told they are gears.

Not too hard. Those dimensions are off the top of my head.

Maybe someone can confirm them, that has a screen used one.

the silver things are actually painted dowels.

i think they're those pegs they give you when assembling a table or desk or something.

the belt dressings are spiraled fishing weights. Very hard to come by these days.

I guy I used to work with had some of those things and I made a mold of them.

If there is any interested I'll see if I can dig that up again.

I took the thing to an industrial supply house near my office and a guy there told me they were pinion gears. Although he never found me exactly the right ones. But something close.

Hey guys,
Weird that you brought up Logan`s Run
I had a Original costume, But it was too small to fit me
BUT a real film costume.

the "Beads" are NOT beads nor pinion gears, but the were
cast jewelry metal. I got this information from Bill Tomas the costume designer of the film , he had told me that they came from Berger beads a L.A based costume jewelry dealer in the garment district of down town L.A.
he picked them because he liked the look of them as he said " the looked like bullets "

Only a month ago I removed mine off the belt and had a friend who owns a metal casting shop to mold them for me ,
and cast me 10 sets of them ( 8 is needed for 1 belt )
So if any one is interested I have replicas cast off
the real deal, I also photo documented the whole costume inside and out that I had and have it stored on cd .

Droidpower,

Welcome to the board! I for one would certainly be interested in the cast beads you have, as well as any photos of the real deal that you would be willing to share. Any and all information is appreciated.

If it isn't too much trouble, drop me a line so we can talk about it more.

Thanks,
-T.J.

DROIDPOWER,

I would love a set of of metal "beads".

Let me know how much.

The ones I had were cast resin and were from an original but I'd rather have metal ones.

Can you post a picture here?

welcome!

Do you know how to set up a photopoint album?
It's pretty easy, and you can just upload the pictures online for everyone to see (if you want to do that :) )

Let me know how much those belt things cost and I might need some too :)

OUCH, that does seem a bit steep, my current prop budget won't support that.

I think I will just make some thing close. How much do you want to burn a copy of your cd? I can send you a cd and case if you like. I am going to try to make the costume my self.

Please let me know.

Thanks

I'd be interested in a set as well. Email me at ryang@hi-impact.org regarding payment/shipment. Also what size was that original uniform? I'm 5'6", 145 lbs so I'm curious if it would fit me.

RE THE COSTUMES SIZE ,
IM SORRY BUT I SOLD THE COSTUME 2 MONTHS AGO ,..SORRY
IT WAS A 44 CHEST SIZE IM A 48.

As to what some think that $50 is too much for a set of these castings of these ,..
Im sorry but i spent a lot of MY money and time getting these made .
These are NOT plastic copies BUT high quality cast METAL replicas .they were cast hollow just like the origianals and given a hand done patina to look exctly like the origianals
And they are fully finnished ,ready to be sewn onto the belt.

I sold the origanal costume 2 months ago To Guy Raz who has told me that it was ok to say where the origanal is now ,
He has seen my bullite copies and has said that the looked first rate and just like the real ones on the costume I sold him
