Military and paintball experts, help identifying goggles

Hi there,

I always assumed that the goggles worn by Ice-T in the movie Johnny Mnemonic were military, but they also might be modified paintball goggles (the part on top looks like the part with airholes normally on the nose section upside down)

Anybody recognize the model or manufacturer?

looks like they took a half-facemask attachment, and mounted it on top of the goggles instead (notice the nose bridge extension).

Those are JT paintball goggles, the half face mask, (which is mounted upside down on the top of the goggles) may be cut down from a "crossfire" , or "softstream" mask, both made by JT, both of those masks have been discontinued for some time (I believe) Old stock in sporting goods stores may have them, or a paintball field operator may have some used ones that he is willing to part with.

Check local pawnshops that deal in used paintball gear. I have found many a "discontinued" prop piece sitting on a dusty pawnbroker shelf.

From what i have seen surfing various paintball sites, the JT X Fire looks very similar to the used one. The only difference is the plastic rectangular thing on the strap. Does anybody have pictures of the 'Crossfire' and/or 'softstream'


[EDIT] It is definately an x-fire (probably older model). I capped some more pics from the DVD and it looks like they used the entire mask except the lower part. The rectangular piece looks like an added item.

Try looking at a JT Flex 7 mask as well.It's definately a JT mask,but hard to tell whiich one.JT has made changes to their masks over time as well,so that will make your job even harder.Take care,TAE
