Here it is,The crystal I'm offering to the board complete with base.This pic is of the actual vac formed base complete with electronics to make it work and crystal in it's clear acrylic tube.This crystal was designed after the crystal being held by the young Kal-el.the base functions as follows: Place crystal in base and it makes the proper contact and lights up remove crystal and it shuts off or if you'd like just turn it off from the rear of the base by the on/off switch.the unit is battery operated which help keep costs down.If interested post here as this is ready to for those of you interested.keep in mind the crystal takes 24 hrs to make due to the nature of the resin used,.pricing as follows:
complete prop with green crystal :$80.00
complete prop with clear crystal :70.00
green crystal alone : 50.00
clear crystal Alone : 40.00
shipping and insurance is extra and if paypaling must add 3% due to paypal fees. also accept money order.
If interested we are accepting 50% up front and the rest due when ready to ship.This project is a go... no minimum to meet to make it happen,Just post away.:) :)

Also, are these polished at all once they come out of the mold. What is the finnish like?

If I may make a suggestion, the base should be sprayed with white fleck to give it the hardened snow look from the Fortress of Solitude. Do you intend to offer the bases painted or as-is?

Thanks for the response, but you still did not comment on the observations that the clear resin has microbubbles. Was this cast in ambient conditions or did you pressure-cast it? Those bubbles are what's keeping me on the fence at this point. Otherwise, it looks fantastic in every way.

If paypal is your choice of payment my user I.D.is maniacman7@yahoo.com.If you feel like sending money order e-mail me for the address.This project was aimed as a personal endeavor to appease my need for a superman crystal at a reasonable price.So since it was created we decide to offer it to the board as well for those who sometimes also budget conscience.we based our R&D on the crystal being held by Kal-el as in the newly posted pic above.The Quality of the crystal and base are consistent with the pics posted.
We will not be offering a painted base as we were trying to help keep costs down but the base is very diplayable as is and pleasing to the eye.:)

Looks nice...I think its cool there are two different movie versions....Mike's is more along the line of what Superman holds in the fortress and what Jpr El sends to Earth and yours is more like young Clark takes out of his back pack....if you do want to get rid of all the air bubbles an inexpensive pressurer pot can be built and it should do the trick.

those little doo-lally's:) as they've been named are indeed micro-bubbles,As I stated in the very begining of this project,this was a basement project to satisfy my need to own a supes crystal at a reasonable price.That'w what I have accomplished.Uunfortunately I do not own a pressure pot but if you have one I can borrow LMK:) :) Since there were other board members who were budget conscience ,I decided to offer it to those who may be interested.So there you have it ,A crystal and base reasonably priced and in my opinion an awesome looking piece,(GO BACK AND CHECK OUT THE NEW PICS INCL. THE CLEAR VERSION.)BTW: if anyone wants the base painted,I can do it but the price would be 10.00 extra.

Unless someone else has beaten me, I'd like to be the first to place an order (and post a review once I receive it). I'd like my base to be sprayed with primer and white fleck paint for the additional $10, if you don't mind, and anything you can do to minimize the micro-bubbles would be VERY much appreciated! There are methods other than pressure pots to minimize air pockets, and one is simply to agitate the mold vigorously during the resin pouring stage and while it cures, and of course to mix the resin and activator well so that bubbles are minimized before the pouring.

i posted a reply on another thread, and id like to do some damage control on this one.

i want one of these, with the base and everything, because this is a prop that i have wanted since shadowe popped up with it, and its also within my price range. its great how it worked out. i also realized that with my other post, i may have inadvertantly insulted some people dealing with this particular prop since its being offered by 2 diff groups of people. this piece had nothing to do with my soapbox rant on the visor thread, and i am looking forward to getting paid, so i can get one of these.

Hey Maniacman, I just finished watching SUPERMAN THE MOVIE on TCM at 8pm and your crystal is on the money. Every crystal in the movie was faceted and yours is especially accurate looking. Also the " S " emblem is just like the one on Superman's chest which is nothing like the one from the TV series from the 50's. Great eye for details!
