View Full Version : any interest: Denix prefitted with wood grips?

Sarco just sent me a whole huge heapin' box of grips, a mere five months after I ordered them. Nice. Anyway, I was thinking of offering Denix with the walnut grips fitted in place of the nasty plastic ones for, oh, $115 delivered. These would have the firing pin stub removed, logo removed, and the grips fitted. Not otherwise repainted or refinished, though.

Otherwise I'll just sell the grips as-is.

My standard fee for fitting grips is $75, which includes the grips. If you want to do it yourself, some bozo set up a kinda crummy grip fitting tutorial on this weird website with a battleship motif:

Anyone interested in either option?

Alex, how is our little machining "side" project going? :)

Depends...if it is the machined parts, then our other friend is still wacking the machinest shop into submission.

If it is the Sterling job, then I'm wacking my own machinest into submission (and having no luck, he is a pretty feisty old geezer).

If it is the tomahawk blanks that I need to finish, well, I'm way behind on that yet again. Sigh.

And if it is the dozen and a half grips that I really need to fit to Denix (Denii? Denixs?), well, that will be at least three weeks. Bigger sigh.

Been working very long hours at work (at least since Tuesday :( ), with (much like everyone else) no idea what is (or will be) going on with that whole situation. Personally, I'd rather be doing something than nothing, but I'm not in charge either. Probably a pretty good thing.

What do you mean, going back in? I am active duty Air Force, T1N471, Intelligence Analyst (Instructor), with a secondary AFSC of 2W051 (Munitions Systems Specialist). Currently serving at Goodfellow AFB in dusty west Texas.

My base is, as you might expect, pretty active. I have it easy, as I'm still doing my 'real' job (just longer hours), but my wife (same AFSC) was sold down the river to the Security Police squadron and is guarding the base. She is so cute in her little chicken vest and Kevlar pot :p At least I know (now) that one of the cops on duty can actually, really and for true, shoot. Most cops are horrible shots. Then again, most cops don't shoot 50,000 rounds a year on their own.

Looks like I'll build up three or so wood grip Denix and sell the rest of the grips as folks want them. Kewl...

I'd be interested if you could put some GPC grips on it.

Oddly enough, I have some GPC grips (both '30 and '96). I also have some checkered black hard rubber grips, original Mauser from the '20's. I'll fit a bunch of different ones and offer them all at once.

Unless someone wants to bribe me early :)

I'd like to get a few sets of grips from you when you finish deciding what you're going to put on the pseudo-guns. I'd like to see those rubber grips.

I'd be interested in straight out purchasing a set of each grips (Sarco and GPC) from you.

I have plenty of grips to do both, judging from the response here. Just drop me a line and I can have grips in the mail to you ASAP!
