hey guys i thought i let you all in on this :)

the saber has been all done EXCEPT the shroud for quite some time now. the original caster was giving me fits about the shroud and wasnt able to give me what i wanted quality wise SO i changed to a new caster! the new caster is doing them out of ALUMINUM!! this is costing me a little more but i have no doubt that it will be a MUCH better looking part now!!
i will have the first 3-4 prototype casts in my hands end of this week or beginning of next. once i give the go ahead it will be a matter of days until i get ALL the shrouds in my hands! sorry for the delay with this but it will make a MUCH better saber :)

next thing is this. i am only do ONE run of these and when they are gone they are gone! i have a few spots left right now so if you are thinking of getting one you had better do so soon.

here are a few pics :)

this last pic shows the "side detail" painted black. you may get it either way, its your choice :) (and im not sure what one is more accurate as iv seen it both ways :p )
email me at tpienta@carolina.rr.com if you are interested.

Thanks for keeping us informed Tim.

Will the side detail be left unpainted unless we specify?

Cool looking saber, Tim. Are you still offering the Derlin grips option? and if so how does that effect the price? Shoot me an email if you will. Thanks

Tim, is the "bulb release" suppose to be black or aluminum? I thought it was aluminum, but I'm not privy to the pics you have. Thanks Tim,

Okay, I'm going to ask THE question. (man, I just KNOW I'm gonna get killed for this!)

(gulp)
How sure are we that this is THE saber? Any chance that that this was an intentional leak to throw us saber makers off? Don't get me wrong, I want one but I'd hate to spend the money then come to find out it's never used.

If we are 100% positive, shoot me an e-mail with pricing! It looks GREAT!

Are they going to be offered in a matte finish? I recall a while back you said they might be.

I can't decide if I like the black detail or not. :)

Tim,

Mark mine as whatever you deem the most accurate in regards to the finish and painting and all that stuff :)

This is better than Burger King...we really can have it our way.

I think I like the black accent better, but still unsure if I want mine polished or matte.

I am leaning towards a matte finish with the side details unpainted.

Do you have any comparison pictures of matte vs. polished finishes?

I figured I can always add the black paint later.

yeah, as far as the finish I think I'd like it polished, because I can always dull it down and weather it if need be, right? And the details on the side should be unpainted, because they can be added.

How's dem apples?

trammel
Sep 18th, 2001, 11:52:49 AM
 I was thinking just the opposite about the finish. I thought the matte finish wouild be good and I could always polish it later. ;)

Yeah, if you are 100% sure on the release, I say go with it black, but if you're not, then I say leave it silver and we can always make it black. Just a thought. But I want my groove silver, so I can add that later if need be. That's always easy.

As for the box, that's fine. With the way it is anyway, if we find out differently, we can always just send that piece back to you! Getting real excited!! Now, if only Hez would get back to you :p

I am thinking polished with black groove.

Is it possible to remove the black paint later and not harm the surface underneath?
