i should have said this above but that would have wrecked my flow........:) ;)

the hilt will be all aluminum, black parts will be anodized, and i am only making as many as are ordered. the price will be around the $165-$185 mark depending on how many people want one. i need at least 15 people to get one before i will do a run. :) :) :)

Show us the latest renderings, Tim. I'tll refresh everyone's memory on how rad this thing is!
:)

And while you're at it, you should show an MPEG of the "Beatin' Demo".

I was following the old yun thread when this project first came up. The price still sounds good to me. I'm still interested

Tim - check your mail, you have pics. I saved every pic off that board so I could throw it in picture viewer and zoom in on the ring during that debate. I almost erased the disc when you said that it was going to be a D-ring. Glad I didn't.

Oh, and, I'm in.

 Roman.

Hey Tim, you KNOW how much I love my Kyle saber, I mean, it's the ONE saber I brought to Dragon*Con, so you know how much pride I take in your work.

i was hoping you could reserve one for me, if you DO do this run, as it's gonna take awhile to come up w/the money for it.

But dude, if that's cool w/you, I'm SO in!

You do awesome work, Tim.

I'm still intrested, just depends on when you do the thing, and as long as it's not as long as the first one in the pic you posted :p

hey jd, this is a pic barnstormer (i think) sent me awhile back. it shows the yun saber at the original length (the same overall length as the kyle saber) next to the saber on yuns belt. it looks much longer, so i lengthened the saber to go along with this pic. i personally like it better shorter like kyles saber but i can take it or leave it either way. :) what do you think??

I like the saber at its orginal, longer length. Just preference I guess but I prefer longer saber hilts. Will these be able to hold blades or are they going to be display only

[What's this "Beatin' Demo" all about??? ]

Tim would demonstrate how strong the acrylic rods were by swinging them as hard as he could and banging it against the floor at Dragon*con.
Quite an experience, wish I had pics.

That pic also shows the black "grip" opposite of the D/O ring as well. I say keep it shorter like Kyle's.

Wow. Why did we do research and study photos so carefully and closely when we choose at the end to ignore the findings in favor of what we *want* to be there? Normally, this group is so concerned about accuracy.

I'd say make it look like the original. I like the differences - I don't want to make it look (innacurately) like Kyle's because then it would be Kyle's. I want Yun's.

Something tells me that I'm going to have a *lot* of accurizing to do on this saber.

I agree with Barnstormer 100%.

I think we have to also look at the posibility that the rendering used to compare is not to scale. A long saber would be anything 12" or more so if that one was estimate about 12" this actor would almost seem to be under 5' tall which I don't believe is the case. This is just a eyeball guess.

I think that the saber is much narrower than most which gives it the illusion of being longer.

the pics i posted are of the saber after we had al talked about it in the last thread. the only thing that was still being argued was where and what type of "ring" went on it. other than that i think it is pretty accurate ;)

Amen. Let's stand by the conclusions we arived at. They were hard-won.
