Is it me or does that saber looks smaller?

I was expecting that scene to be included on the DVD...they decided not to put it <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

The saber looks smaller because Liam Neeson has gorilla sized hands :) That's the reason the qui-gon saber was so large ;) :)

It's too bad they didn't include that scene on the DVD. :(

I am hoping it might be included as an Easter egg.

Yeah, I was hoping the'd add that one too <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

Since it was missing the button, maybe that was why it did work for him when he was being chased by the Droid on the bike!

Well, supposedly Obi burned out the power cell or something. He apparently has a habit of doing that to his sabers. Leaves them charging too long I guess.

That would be the brass valve that is missing...not the button. The button is on the left. Now maybe the brass valve is there, but it looks like a hole because of the purple hemisphere thingy. :)

From what I remember from the Book...obi didn't seal the saber when they were in the water, the saber shorted out. The pic you see is of ole "gorilla hands" reprimanding obi.

I really think they should have left that scene in. It makes no sense, because you see Obi running from a battle droid and you're thinking, "Why doesn't he just use his saber!?"

Yeah, I remember that. I was just trying to make a "ha-ha" :p

It looks as though the "valve" is where the "Button" should be and the "hole" is where the "valve" should be.

Arg! I'm getting confused!

Plus, he is all wet when Qui-Gon saves his ass. I just thought he sweats a lot.

According to the comic, Obi-Wan lands in a pool of water with his lightsaber on after jumping out of the invasion ship. It fries out the blade and he has to wait until it dries out before he can use it again. This is the scene where he gives it to Qui-Gon and asks what is wrong with it, Qui-Gon looks it over and reprimands him.

You have got to be kidding me...Lucas markets this DVD as a gift from God stating it will have all these deleted scenes and they decide NOT to put the one scene that is known by MANY to be a scene shot but not used?

That is just plain stupid.

Oh wait..he will release that...it will just be after the 3rd time the DVD is released so that we can go out and buy yet ANOTHER version.

I swear, Lucas really pisses me off at times. :(

I hear you Duke Chad. I can't believe that scene is not included. That is the one scene that I thought of when I heard they would be included cut material on the DVD. As far as all of the re-releases, I respect Lucas as the creator of the thing we all love but there is a fine line between marketing financial genius and taking advantage of fans. :(

Um, in his giant gorilla hand...hehe ;)

One thing I don't understand is that in most pics I see of this saber, you can't see the silver through the slits in the grip. When I hold my Larbel saber at any angle except straight up and down, I can see the silver. That picture is straight on, and you can't see it. Anyone know why?

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!!

word is the reason he isn't including it is because it screws something up in episode 2

In reply to the spoiler...

(Now when I say reply to spoiler that means I am going to make a comment that may include spoiler material). But, I will make it as vague as possible ;)

I think I understand why now that you mention it. Particular fight scene in a wet enviroment ;)

OHHH $hit!!!!!!! That makes good enough sense to me:)

For that scene, because there was the possibility the saber would get emerged in water, perhaps they used a wooden one painted, instead of the actual prop? If the handle was simply painted all black, that would explain why you can't see silver.

Yes, but for all close-up shots like that where the attention is on the saber, they'd use the hero prop. :)

Even if it contradicts a scene in EP2 it still could have been included on the DVD as an outtake.

I read on the Digital Bits web site that there are outtakes included on the DVD as Easter eggs, so perhaps it is included.

I hope you are right Trammel, otherwise get your checkbooks ready for the Definitive editon of all six movies in a boxed set where you will probably have all the goodies whether they hold consistancy issues or not:)

Hi guys...been away for a while, but any talk of this saber brings me around....

First....I certainly see why we cant see the pommel...

....his hands would certainly cover it....at least I think it would....

As far as the spoiler goes.....not much of one!

Looks like a resin stunt saber to me. The silver is duller and you can't see the silver in slits on the grip. They don't necesarily use a hero every time a weapon is shown, most of the shots where its on his belt it's resin.
