Here's my licensed (!) BSG pistol from Guardian Entertainment. It actually arrived two days ago, but I only now found the time to snap a few pictures and write a brief review.

Bottom line: I love it! It's super clean and easy on the eyes. Can't tell you whether it's 100% accurate, since I was never that nitpicky about BSG. But it looks right to me, and it is a finely cast and painted piece. Well worth the moolah, and dealing with Richard and company at Guardian was quite a pleasure. Thumbs up! Go to http://www.battlestargalactica.org and get your own....

The last thing, by the way, is a plaque that prop demigod gave me during my weekend visit two weeks ago.... Everyone should own one....

"Everyone should own one...."

Own what? An attack lawyer? ;)

That looks like the cleanest BG Blaster I've ever seen. Much nicer than an original. (DUH!)

I left it purposefully vague. Everyone should own:

1. a BSG pistol

2. an attack lawyer

3. a prop demigod

4, all of the above.

Take your pick....

Wow, that is as far from screen acurate as it gets. It's all wrong, hope it was cheap!

Nah, just kidding looks fantastic, your going to need a whole room for your props soon, but with what a lawyer makes....

Very nice:)

 Frak! That is one nice looking laser pistol.

Thanks for posting the pics and the review John. :)

I have been holding off from getting one of these until I could see some better pictures. It looks like a very clean cast, well painted quality replica.

Looks like I'll be ordering one soon. ;)

Mike:

If you only knew. By the time I pay my student loans, daughter's tuition, and the mortgage on my teensy townhouse, I'm eating Ramen noodles....

My props are in a 9x9 room on two bookshelfs. But I love my little collection!

Hey, I just happen to like Ramen noodles. Used to eat them in high school straight out of the back in brick form... just like the astronauts.LOL

Mike

If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck- me

I still like em! Then again, I still like Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Raviolios and 7-11 burritos (Casa Buena brand)...better than some fancy client lunch at Four Seasons, where they try to make you feel like you don't know how to eat the meal. Last time I took a client to that place, they served him a salad that was presented in some get-up that made the lettuce leaves stick up like a house plant. My guy didn't know how to eat it...I told him to knock it over.... Then they served my asparagus with some contraption for eating it that looked like something Amidala would carry. I swear....

You can take the guy out of the frathouse....

I'm not a BSG accuracy expert, but the only thing that looks missing compared to other BSG Pistol pics I've seen is the Square Red "Radio Shack" looking button for a trigger...other than that, that prop Rocks!!! I alway's wanted BSG Pistol, belt and outfit when I was a wee lad.;)

That is a cool looking cast of the BSG Pistol. Very cool. Love that sign btw. Attack Lawyer

Love those noodles too but I'm actually more of a quick TV Dinner anything you can microwave in 6 mins. or less kinda guy :)

As for fancy dining places, I try to avoid them like the plague. I'm afraid my military manners lack the sophistication (I know thats spelt wrong) for such places.

THOSE are the sort of photos they should have on their website so they can show how clean the casts are!

thanks for the photos and review.

I'll put it on the list of stuff to buy.

"Then they served my asparagus with some contraption for eating it that looked like something Amidala would carry."

So, is it in your collection now too? ;)

There's not enough "E's" in SWEEEEEEEET to describe that laser.

I have one from Marco Ent. I'm not certain of it's level of accuracy either, but I like it. The Colonial laser is definately one of the coolest non-Star Wars weapons.

I agree that THOSE are the pics that should be on the BSG.org site. They really help to sell the blaster...

Nice acquistion, JHyphen. :)

I have both an Attack Lawyer and a Prop Demigod already, I have to seperate them sometimes esp when the Attack Lawyer goes into heat...;)

Very nice, you may need a bigger bookcase.

So who's doing the cast of the Attack lawyer & Prop demigod. My meager talents don't quite stretch that far (my G/F did study Law, but she wont let me cast her) some one has to complete the collection.

Congrats John, tis a nice pistol.

There's already a prop demigod action figure that Phil S. and I created from an Ultimate Soldier British paratrooper -- uncanny resemblance I think.

I dressed him up in my daughter's Ken clothes--yes, jhyphen plays with dolls--and Phil recreated the Ultimate Soldier package, logo and indicia perfectly, renaming it the Ultimate Propmaker. Of course, after we presented it to demigod at last year's Chiller, he modified it by slipping a 1:6 scale pulse rifle into the package.

I never got around to taking pictures, but I think Phil has some. It's pretty funny to see an action figure of the demigod, mint in package, that looks just like him.

As for the attack lawyer...trust me, the plaque is enough.... If ya get sued or C&D'd, I'll be there to help.

Meanwhile, the BSG pistol is sweet, isn't it? The stand is the Mauser stand that prop demigod created for his James Bond Red Grant mauser, later adapted for my Han Solo blaster. I simply switched the blaster out for the picture, but I'm going to pick one more up. Who knew it was the perfect size for BSG, too? Contact him at sdstudios@aol.com to see if he has any more....

Thanks for the feedback. Ramen pride forever!

John,

Thanks for the review, its much appreciated and it's made my mind up for the purchase. I had a cast of an original some years ago and this looks just fine to me, hell it looks outstanding.

Now which credit card to use this week.....Hmmmmm ;)

i have held one and they are great. i have an aim and marco.
i believe the originals never had a trigger button, it was added for the marcos and everyone assumed they had them.

remember the ray guns from the invaders tv show they were fired by mental thoughts. has anyone ever made one of those. they looked like a crystal with a grip.

nice gun, john! i have one just like it on my shelf! ;) i need to repaint some of the details though. the prop shop sort of slapped it on mine.

here is a note on the red button: there wasn't one! a lot of the lasers didn't have any trigger, like the one john and i have. the electronic versions had a small momentary switch, not a big, candylike red button.

man, i really hate red buttons.

Red Buttons was a fine comedian. Used to do the Dean Martin roasts. Remember his schtick, "Never had a dinner..."?

Now Foster Brooks....there's a one trick pony.

Hoo hi hi haaa...vrrrtttttt.... (best Charlie Callas voice)

John,

How long did it take you to receive the laser from the time you placed your order?

Seemed like less than a week. I'd have to check. But the bottom line is that it was pretty fast....
