NO THIS IS NOT A WHO BUILDS SPACE TROOPER ARMOR AND WHERE CAN I GET THEM AND NO SPACE TROOPER ISNT A FANCY NAME FOR STORMTROOPER ARMOR.

in the EU , theres a stormtrooper type/squad called the space troopers, who operate in zero-g enviorments, and have awesome suits. retractable vibroblades on fingers, mini proton torpedo launchers, etc.

i just finished watching Red Planet, and the suit that carrie anne-moss wears at the end really reminded me of the mental pic i had of the spacetroopers. at least the boots and the heavily reinforced arms and fingers.

so, FOR PURELY COSTUME, has anyone to anyones knowledge ever made a spacetrooper costume? and are there any pics? it sounds like itd be a badass costume to have. almost as badass as a dark trooper.

and whoever builds a darktrooper, you da man

I believe they have pics of them in one fo the books, like the thick book about creatures and people.. there was a series that was released and I forget what for.. but they had one that was dedicated to droids and one for vehicles and so on.. IIRC it had a space trooper in it. And aren't there trooper outside in ANH whne the falcon is getting pulled in? Not saying they are space troopers..but why would they have seperate space troopers if a Stormtrooper could operate out there anyway>

Are you thinking of the Zero-G Stormtrooper from the West End RPG?

There are three good pics of them to go off of if I remember correctly. The best, in my opinion, is the one from the Rebel Alliance Special Forces Handbook. There is also one in one of the Heir To the Empire books and another in one of the older books, I think the first ed. Sourcebook.

yep.

theres a few pics in a few of the "official guides to" books. i dont think those were space troopers in the new release of ANH though.

but i was still curious if anyone had built one. it looks like a pretty good amagalm of darth vaders armored giant look with a stormtrooper. pretty cool.

Technically the space trooper are less armor and more of a vehicle that fits a human driver inside. From what I remember they are MASSIVE and have the ability to eject the driver out the back.

I think the HTTE novels have some great images and there is a Hasbro Action Figure as well for reference (based on the same comics)... I don't know of any one SET design for them, but the HTTE version is the most published I'd imagine...

I think that there are two types of "spacetroopers". The kind pictured in the Zahn trilogy comics (and Kenner figure) and then there is the Zero G stormtrooper which is meant to fight other ships and various other things:

That is the one from the Zahn books. BUT, the comic people drew another that looks like this:

I think this one is goofy, because there is no way someone's arms could fit in there if the blasters pop out of the elbows.

If anyone is interested here's some pics from X-Wing Alliance of Zero G Stormtroopers:

Maybe they cut off the troopers arms, and integrated him into the suit.

Just thinking aloud....

These are all *intended* to be the same armor. Zahn introduced them in HTTE, and they trickled out through the Expanding Universe sources. The West End RPG was the first source to provide a picture. The HTTE comics disregarded all of the WEG source art, redesigning the Spacetrooper, and reinventing lots of other things too.

I think that there are strengths and weaknesses to both - I like the bulkyness of the WEG version, but I like how the HTTE version retains the more recognizeable stormtrooper features.

Like with most Exhausted Universe material, I don't think that either can be regarded as 'canon.'
