interest thread for green glass/crystals/superman style prop

this is an interest thread for superman props, be it the green glass crystal i showed in the other thread, a lead box, chain, etc.

the glass itself is uranium glass, and is really beautiful. when it is hit with a blacklight, it glows neon green. really really cool, and is the ultimate kryptonite prop that i can think of.

the guy i went through custom made me the piece i want, and is making me a special super secret neato piece of which i will probably have pics of this weekend. also a pretty good price on it too.

the price for the stone i got was 35, and shipping. hes also making me a rougher cut version of it, to make it look more mean/meteorite looking. thats going to run me 35 also. hes really a great guy, and takes suggestions really well.

anywho, if you are interested in possibly <note i say possibly> getting a crystal from this guy, please let me know. so far the list is

I'm not into superman in the least...but that pic was way Kool! If the price is right I'd be down for one with a chain too.

im custom making the chain and holder to fit my stone, so i guess if you can buy some chain and paint it flat black, beat it on concrete to weather it, you should be good to go.

the bottom of the stone is pretty much flat, so its not gonna be hard to glue down to a section of tin or something that i cut out.

this is also a discussion thread too, so feel free to post up ideas too.

i hope that is what it will look like, my chain will be a bit thicker to be more like the movie.

but, as i said earlier in the thread, this is for the glass only, and im making the rest up as i go along.

also, those are the links to the geocities pics. i just uploaded them to my webspace account so everyone could see them.

the only pics of my stuff would be the stone and the glowing implants :lol:

after talking to the gentleman making this for me, he has agreed to talk to you about various glass related props. so, if you can please email me, or post your emails up, i will send them to him tonight and he will catch up with you later on tonight or tommorow.

some more details on it. all piece will have punty marks. for those who arent aware of what those are, they are a small lil divit or a small dent in the piece, where you use a 5' steel rod to avoid becoming a crispy critter. he can polish those out, but it will basically almost triple the cost for the piece. its very time consuming and expensive. also, each piece is signed/dated on the bottom <at least for the necklace gem> so you all get a unique piece.

thanks, and hopefully we can score some sweet props out of this. ive already asked about a green lantern lantern, and a ring. even a cosmic cube heh.

im thinking they will all be really rough cut to match the movie, but when he emails you, just let him know what you want done, and he will do his best to get it done.

he works with glass only on the weekends, but hes more than willing to work out something with you detail wise. i added everyones email to the list who was interested, but drstranglove - yours is private. if you drop me an email or post up here, ill send it to him.

finally, this guy does great work, but please remember this guy is a glassmaker, and not a prop guy. this is for the hunk o glass only.

anywho, thats about the only update i have. my super secret neato burrito project should kick off in a few days, and i should have some cool pics of it.
