Judges -

Morgan
Ogre
Dale
Hart
Dyne Darkforce

If anyone else who has not entered and wishes to judge, please say so before the 11th.

How you judge is pretty much to you, however...

1) Spelling and grammar are not to be counted - unless it makes the story totally unreadable
2) The best writer wins.

There is no content restrictions (apart from the content being something to do with SWFans).

Thank you all very much.

Edit : Probably not a bad idea to announce how the contest is to be judged if you think it appropriate.

I'll offer up my idea for judgement once again and see what the other judges think:

I think that perhaps the judges should have some basic critera for ruling established and a rating system so that this can be as fair as possible.

Something like 5 or 6 general critera and an averagiing scale to determine the final ruling.

Say a 1 to 10 judgement on each critera and then an average to reach the final score.

Critera ideas:

1 - Ease to follow and understand.

2 - Captivating story.

3 - Inclusion of compelling plot devices and or twists.

Just some thoughts feel free to disagree and or offer more. :)

Well, since it is EXTREMELY hard to go through a lot of stories and give them scores, since once you make one of them a 10 and then you come across one better, then there is nothing show it's superiority. I suggest that since FMH announced the challenge, his story automatically gets a 10 out of 20. Then, we judge every other story by comparing it to his and using his as the standard. So if it's better, give above 10; if it's worse, below 10. That gives us room to breath.

that isn't fair for those that are putting a lot of effort into their stories and RP

Each story should be judged accordingly. Not based on another's work. Our jobs are to go through all the stories and give them a score.

I just figured we would decide on who's was most effective. *shrugs* I'm not fond of binding something to a numerical rating system. It's usually fairly easy to find something that will stand above the rest.

well we can always vote on the top three that someone likes and the one that has the most votes could win <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> Dunno and half asleep

That sounds like a pretty good idea Dale.

I concur that two weeks will probably be adequate to review the material. :)

April 30, 2001 11:59 PM EDT(considering that EDT is board time) is what I would say, with judges turning in thier decisions two weeks later, due date of: May 14
