We need a replacement judge for Hart.

As far as I recall, the judges are: myself, Dale, Hart, and Morgan, with Hart having left RPing in the interum.

If no one objects, I'd be happy to fill in, as well as withdraw my feeble attempt at writing.

I'm not... I had some OOC problems a few months back when I dropped RP for a week or two, and I totally just ddn't even mind the thread I started... I'd actually just rather it be deleted. ;;shrugs;; But It doesn't matter either way.

To be perfectly honest, between juggling RL duties and dealing with personal issues, I totally forgot about this challenge. So I'm officially dropping out: I want to take my time with it and make it a quality RP, without rushing to meet a deadline.

I would actually prefer to give people the time they require to finish their RPs without pressure myself.

NO! Judge now! (:p ) just kidding. Everyone was nice and waited for Tondry and I to be done, I think we got it extended a month for us. But that should have honestly been enought time for those who wanted to to finish. Yes?

If the RP with Oni and I fits this, and she agrees, can we join in the contest? :)

Well, lots of people have different RL issues that could keep them from finishing. I myself never much cared for the deadline idea, but then the challenge wasn't my idea, so I'll let FMH speak on that.

As for Varlon's question, I don't see why not.

My Two Cents:

If the RP is completed and you want to enter it, fine. BUT, there were rules set down, and a list made up of people who entered... I think its only fair to take that into consideration, for the people who entered in the beginning. A contest can't go on FOREVER, and it has to end sometime.

Yeah, it was completed awhile back. Albet only being 89 posts long. here (http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicfrm13.showMessage?topicID=182.topic) is the said thread, which ended on June 6th, 2001 at 10:59:34 pm :)

I would suggest making the storytelling/RP challenge more of a monthly event, rather than just a one time thing. This way people don't have to worry to much about deadlines and not getting to finish their story.

Besides, a monthly or bimonthly writing contest could be of an interest to all of the swfans website visitors, not just RPers. There could be a little update announcing each months winner(s) on the website, and it could be like an ongoing thing.

That might make it simpler. Maybe not.

 the shortest roleplay I had was a duel on a Gundam board I roleplay at. TWELVE posts long

Hmmm... now I wonder. I'd originally signed up the Haunting (http://pub2.ezboard.com/fswvstitanicfrm13.showMessage?topicID=156.topic) RP for the challenge, then I took it out because I didn't think I could be done with it in time. Well, it's done now - anyone still willing to let that one into the contest? I won't mind if it won't be, but it's worth a try - it would have to be in there as a team effort by Jeseth and myself.

On another subject:

I agree with Hyfe, that it would be interesting to have this contest on on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. What we could do is have a regular jury (maybe consisting of one person from each of the groups around here), and let them decide.

The RPs that would be entered would be those that were finished anytime during the month or two months since the last contest - that way there isn't a real deadline; if the RP isn't finished by a certain time, then it'll enter in the next contest. This would be RPs taken mainly from the Storytelling forum, but others can also enter into it (maybe only RPs that are closed and semi-closed?)

Well, it's just a thought...
