Illusions in the Dark (Kat Kariena)

[Big Bad Naga]

The Darkness of the night, covered the low grasslands with shadows and whispers. Not many stars were out, and the two moons of the planet where not as bright as they should've been. Perhaps this was because a Dark Force had set foot on the planet. A notorious creature that hated all of light. This creature was better known as a Sith.

For millenia, the Sith had rejected the Light Side, and gave into their temptations of the Dark Side. Sith practiced magic and arts that would make other folks' blood curl. This particular Sith was battle ready, and wanted to score a few kills here and there. But he knew that wants did not matter.

The reason he had traveled all this way was to duel with a Jedi Knight. The one called Kat Kariena. He knew she was here, somewhere...He could sense her Light Side presence. She had made herself open to the Force, as he did.

The Sith jumped out of his fighter cockpit and strode across the grasslands searching for the Light Source. He stopped in his tracks and noticed a dark figure in brown robes standing 20 ft. away from him.

"Reveal yourself." Naga hissed.

[Kat Kariena]

Kat pulled the hood away from her face, her movements calm and smooth.

"Myself revealed," she replied calmly.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga stood there calmly for one of the Dark Side.

"I was expecting someone of the feline species, due to your name. I guess I was mistaken."

From his robe opening, a Saber flies out, and with one quick swipe, Naga catches it. He ignites the lightsaber with a snap-hiss. The orange blade erupts from the metal stick.

The Sith points it at Kat and runs at her wildly. He swings his saber with both hands at her mid-section.

Kat stood there calmly, at the last second she activated her saber, a red-blue blade hissed to life. She steped to the side and blocked Naga's cut towards her mid section and brought her elbow down hard in the center of his back.

"Most people do expect that . . . sorry to disapoint you," she replied stepping away and waiting in a ready stance. She watched Naga's movements, ready and waiting for another attack.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga rubbed his back with his tail. He looked at Kat and smiled a sinister one.

"The only thing that disappoints me, is someone with your strength in the Force chooses to follow the weak Jedi."

He ran at Kat, and attacked with his saber again. The two blades met and sizzled. The Sith kicked at the floor, keeping his stance while the two sabers still fought. The soil and grass he had kicked up rose off the ground and hit Kat in the face. She was surprised for a split second. That was enough for BBN though. He raised his foot and kicked her in her stomach. She stumbled and fell to the floor. Naga drove his lightsaber at the fallen Jedi.

Kat rolled away just before the lightsaber skewered her and stood up, she cut at BBN's neck. She didden't react at their lightsabers clashed, instead she sidekicked Naga and steped back.

"I guess I should concider that a complement, comeing from you," Kat replied calmly.

Useing the force Kat blasted part of the ground causeing dirt and grass to go flying everywhere, she sent it all flying at Naga before stepping foreward agian and cutting with her lightsaber at an angle towards his shoulder.

Before the saber could contact with his shoulder, Naga placed one foot behind his other and kicked hard on his ankle. The Sith immediately tripped, and avoided what could've been his death. While on the ground, he kicked at Kat's ankle causing her to fall. Before she hit the ground, he jumped up and kneed her in the stomach. He threw her aside and cracked his neck.

"Any word coming from me should be a blessing to you."

He jumpkicked Kat in the face, while she was trying to get back up. Naga rubbed his side and stood in a defencive stance.

[Kat Kariena]

Kat rolled away and up so she could stand.

"Any blessing from you would be a curse," Kat replied sharply she called her saber back to her, but did not activate it.

Instead she concentrated though the force and used it to push BBN back. She pushed him back agiand and steped foreward. Spinning she roundkicked at his head then sidekicked him in the solarplexis(sp). Stepping back she stood paciently and calmly ready for another attack.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga grabbed at his head with one hand and supressed his pains back with the Dark Side. He runs at Kat and attacks her with his saber. The attack is easily blocked. Naga's tail comes around and smacks Kat in the face. For that second she is dazed. Naga follows the smack with a punch. He kicks her to the floor and thrusts his saber straight at her.

Kat rolled away agian this time her shoulder got nicked, "Ahh! Ok that hurt," she muttered as she stood up.

Kat stood dazed for a momment, "This is the second time you've tried to skewer me. What are you trying to do? Have crispy fried Kat?"

Kat didden't give him a chance to answer that, she leaped toward BBN and started to crosscut at his shoulder. Just before her lightsaber connected with his she activated the other end of her saber and swung quickly back at his midsection.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga knew that if he didn't act fast, he'd be split in two. He thumbed the button on his saber. The other orange blade shot out and stopped Kat's attack. Now both sides of his lightsaber were active, as were Kat's. He pushed her back a little, and rolled backwards.

Naga stood up and decided to use a rather special move. He paced around Kat, strengthening his power in the Dark Side. He gathered Dark Energy, and placed a picture in Kat's head, an illusion of sorts. The illusion was that Naga ran up to her and started to attack. The real BBN watched as Kat swiped the air with her saber. He walked up to her, and kicked her hard in the face. She fell to the ground, and snapped out of the illusion. Naga pointed his saber at her belly, and started to burn some of her skin. The smell of flesh was all throughout the air. After drawing a small charred line with his lightsaber, he jumped back and waited for her to attack.

Kat stood up, her the burned skin screamed at her letting her know that something was wrong. She ignored it and picked her saber up agian. She paused for a momment before she moved foreward. She leaped towards Naga buts spun to the side at the last momment, she used the force to pin down his tail as she jumped behind him and started to cut towards his midsection.

Naga knew that trying to move would prove futile. He used Force Speed and swung his lightsaber to the other side. The move was blocked, but Naga's skin was starting to burn from the closeness of the lightsaber. He pushed Kat back with the Force. She managed to keep her balance, but Naga was able to move again. He rolled back about 10 feet and stood in the air. He wiped the sweat off of his face and grinned at the Jedi.

Naga outstretched an arm and gathered the Force energy around him. He unleashed a purple wave better known as "Force Blunt". It momentarily put the victim in a daze. A moment was all Naga needed...It hit Kat, and she suddenly became dazed. Naga ran up with Force Speed and kicked her in the gut. He follwed that with a punch in the face. Naga de-ignited both sides of his saber and struck Kat in the head with it.

He jumped back and re-ignited both sides of his orange saber.

Kat hook her head to clear it. She was getting sick of haveing her head messed with. She kept her eyes closed and used the force to reach out and feel where Naga was. Calling her lightsaber back to her once agian, she steped towards Naga. She moved cat-like and when she finally started her attack towards Naga she moved like she was about to kick him, but instead brought her foot down short and ignited her saber as she jabed it towards him.

Naga easily blocked the attack with his own saber. He could not sense her movements through the Force, but he could interpret them. He knew she would fake it. Now it was his turn. He twirled his saber around and swiped at her legs. She jumped over and attempted to kick Naga, though he ducked.

Naga slashed again, this time more fiercely. The attack took Kat off guard and she stumbled. BBN kicked her in the side and drove his saber at her hip. She managed to block that, which made Naga unhappy.

He jumped back and looked at her. His anger got the better of him. He was now full of Dark Side anger. Naga closed his eyes and gathered all his dark energy and thoughts. He placed another picture in Kat's mind. This one was that Naga had appeared at her side. Instantly her eyes went wide as she turned to the side and swiped at the air. She came back to reality with a punch from the real Sith in the nose. A small crack could be heard, while she winced. He repeatedly began to punch her in the face. He kicked at her ankle as a finale and jumped back waiting to see if she would retaliate.

Kat sighed, this time she used the force to surpress the pain and closed her eyes agian. She used the force agian to pin Naga's tail to the ground, she spun around and cut at Naga towards his neck, he blocked as she had expected, she cut agian towards his midesction. She knew her attacks were easy to block, but made several more before she cut at Naga's neck once agian and kicked him back, still keeping his tail pinned. She moved her saber around and knocked his from his hand. Releasing his tail and collecting the force around her she created a blast that sent Naga back.

Before Naga was blasted, he had created a Force Shield to protect him. The blast had sent him back, but it did not harm him. He ran at Kat madly, and jumped in the air. His lightsaber flew into his hand. Naga held the saber with both hands and struck Kat in the head with it. She fell down, along with him. BBN flipped back and ignited his saber, both sides. He ran at Kat slashing left and right, but she had managed to block all these shots with her eyes closed.

Naga stopped and stood still. He had blocked his very presence with the Force. Kat's eyes were closed so she could not see him. He jumped at her and swung his fist. It struck her stomach hard. She crouched a bit. Naga grabbed her hair and kneed her in the face several times before throwing her away.

"Illusions in the Dark, Kat..."

[Kat Kariena]

Kat shook her head and wiped some of the blood away from her face, "Illusions in the dark have to presence here. One thing I've noticed is that you can't quite manage to hit me without them."

A wry smile came to Kat's face as she stood up. She called her saber once agian back to her. She reached to her belt agian and grabed her other single bladed saber. Igniteing it she looked at Naga, "You have your tricks . . . I have mine."

Kat hid herself in the force and threw the single bladed saber at Naga like a spear. As he blocked it Kat spun and ignited her other saber just before she finnished her cut at Naga's shoulder. Stepping back she called her single bladed lightsaber back to her.

Stepping back once agian she cliped her single bladed saber to her belt once agian knowing that trick would only work once.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga slowly turned his head to the right and looked at his charred shoulder. It did not hurt much because his anger blinded his sense of feel. He incanted a Dark Side spell which closed the wound to stop the bleeding, but did not heal it. He supressed his pains with the Dark Side.

"Kat what you fail to see is that I never actually tried to hit you without illusions for I never needed too. Now you shall feel my wrath."

Naga stood rigid clenching his fists. His saber had resumed it's place back on his belt. He was summoning the Dark energy around him. Naga could feel himself get stronger in the Force. He felt his senses get sharper, his eyesight better...Naga's muscles expanded, along with his whole body. A red aura appeared around his body. His eyes turned deep red. This move was Force Summon. He was using it to make him stronger.

Naga was now ready to use another Force technique. He closed his eyes and gathered more dark energy. Kat could only watch and wait. BBN imagined the grasslands exploding and destructing in his mind. He unleashed a powerful surge of energy across the land known as Force Destruction.

The ground around Kat exploded, as she was knocked to the ground by rocks and clumps of dirt. Everythign around her started to go haywire. Naga watched as the clumps of dirt and the rocks pelted her and her skin.

After Force Destruction had taken it's toll, Naga stood before the bloody Kat holding his now ignited saber to her face.

"Do you think this is an illusion Kat?"

[Kat Kariena]

Kat took a momment to pull herself together. That had not been a fun ride.

"Illusion? no. You trying to show off your power and be a pain in the neck? yes," Kat replied.

She put her wieght on her hands and her left foot and kicked Naga's wrist knocking his saber away.

"OOPS!" Kat exclaimed mockingly, "Did I do that?"

Kat stood and spun kicking Naga agian, then sent him back with another blast with the force.

[Big Bad Naga]

The Sith managed to keep his balance with the Force. He jumped at Kat, extending his claws. Naga tackled her down and sunk his fingernails into her hip. Blood started to pour out.

Naga rested his knee on her hand, making her lightsaber fall out. He levitated it with the Force and threw it a couple feet. BBN gave her a headbutt, and took his nails out of her side. He punched her in the face twice and jumped back, calling his saber to him. He ignited it and stood in a defencive stance.

Kat winced as she stood up and quickly took a bacta patch out of her pack that was at her side and aplied it to her hip. Calling her lightsaber back to he, she looked at Naga's stance. Igniteing her both ends of her saber she used it like a staff swinging around at Naga's side then up towards his neck.

Useing the force to send hism back yet agian except this time as he resisted she used his own effort agianst him stepping to the side and pushing him foreward.

"You need a new tatic," Kat commented as she spun around and aimed her saber at Naga's neck.

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga blocked the pitiful attack by the Jedi. He grabbed Kat and threw her back.

"Pitiful Jedi. You stand no match against me. Sith are a major factor in your life. Your parents were killed by Sith. Your first Jedi Master was killed by Sith. Your smuggling friend Kira was killed by Sith. And now, you will be killed by a Sith!"

Naga ran at Kat and flipped over her. He roundhouse kicked her right in the face knocking her down. BBN kicked her several times while she was on the floor. He flipped her over with the Force and placed his foot on her spine. He raised it.

"Kiss my Grits."

Naga stomped down on her spine. A deafening crack was heard, from Kat's spine. Naga jumped back and waited to see in the paralyzed Jedi would still go on.

[Kat Kariena]

Kat winced as she lost the sensation in her legs.

"So you know my past. Yes sith have been a major part of my life, more than you know," Kat replied, pushing herself up on her hands and stiiing up. "Is that all you have for an attack that might get to me? A verbal one? You'll have to do better than that. You anger has gotten the better of you, Sith."

Kat had seen enough of Naga's illusions so she dicided it was time to give him some of his own medicine. She projected in NAga's mind the illusion of her standing and mofeing swiftly towards him, which wasn't all that farr from the truth. Kat used the force to levitate herself up and move towards Naga. The illusion Kat cut at his neck, while the real Kat jabed his side just before the illusion gave out.

Useing the force to back her away she looked at Naga, "Your not the only one who can do that."

[Big Bad Naga]

Naga blocked his pains from his mind.

"But I am the only one who can do this!"

Naga unleashed another, more powerful Force Blunt on Kat. He jumped at her levitating and knocked her down. His claws protruded again on his left hand. Naga stuck them into Kat's right arm. She let's go of her saber, and Naga pockets it with the Force to ensure she doesn't use it again. He can feel the blood from her arm pouring out on his fingernails.

BBN headbutts her, using the Force to strengthen his head. He picks Kat up and throws her onto a clump of dirt. Naga jumps high and lands in front of her. Both hers and his saber are ignited, and both are pointed at Kat's neck.

"You feeling lucky?"

[Kat Kariena]

"No, not really, you could kill me if you wanted to," Kat replied glareing up at Naga.


OOC: no this is NOT an invatation to kill me.

[Big Bad Naga]

Upon hearing this Naga smiled. He de-ignited both lightsabers and stood up straight ignore the aching pains in his leg.

"Now why would I kill you? You don't deserve such an honor. I will let you live out your pitiful miserable life. Just know that the Dark Side will always be creeping about, and tempting you."

Naga threw her saber beside her.

"Keep it so you will remember this battle. Life is an illusion. As soon as you realize that, your life will be over. I bid thee farewell. But rest assured we shall meet again."

Naga walks away into the mist of the night shouting back one last thing before he left.

"Beware the Dark Side Kat! Sleep tight, don't let the Vornskyers bite!"
