Tirsa gets shoved through the crowd of Gamorreans and off-world traders by the two guards of the Clan Matron she royally ticked off. Her neck is sore from the collar around her neck and she can only imagine what kind of punishment she is going to receive. This is Gamorr. This isn't going to be pretty.

"Last time I do a favor for Endo," she mumbles under her breath. Tirsa gets hit in the back with the blunt end of a vibro-ax and stumbles into the middle of the arena. It's full of mud, more mud, and a lot more mud. She makes a face as she sees all the morrts slopping around in the putrid muck. The guards grunt something and head off and Tirsa looks around, seeing that the seats are packed with spectators.

"I love being put on display ... again."

A Gamorrean stands, and the only reason Tirsa recognizes her is because this was the one she tried to swindle. She was trying to sell cheap vibro-weapons at "Sheebareevadee's Emporium of Interstellar Goods" for a higher price and got caught. Stupid Squibb that ran it gave her away and now she was stuck here in this frelled up situation.

The Matron grunts out her punishment and Tirsa has to try and keep her stomach from heaving. First the smell, the wretched smell of the mud isn't great for the senses, but to have to look upon the saliva dripping, morrt ridding pig doesn't help at all. Since she was once a slave to Jabba, Tirsa understands Gammorean, and if she is hearing right, she needs to prove her honor in a fight. Since having a Gamorrean fight her is beneath them, she will face a human. The fight must be to their standards.

"Well, at least I stand a chance now."

No ranged weapons and no magic can be used. The fight is hand-to-hand or the weapons provided.

"Thank Vishan I'm not Force Sensitive then."

Tirsa sighs when she hears that being sneaky and attacking from behind is met with disapproval.

"Great. Two of my best qualities."

She scans the crowd and notices that her pack and blaster rifle are over by the Matron. She thanks the gods for that and watches the guards return. They are carrying a set of spears and vibro-axes. They stick the weapons in the mud in various places of the circle. Tirsa watches them carefully and realizes that she is in deep dren. There is no way she can make a break for it and doing that would be dishonorable in their eyes and she would be put to death.

"Endo is one dead Rodian. Maybe, I shouldn't have ruined his cigars."

Out of the corner of her eye, she notices that another person has been shoved into the arena. Turning around, Tirsa gets a good look at her. Female human with short blond hair and a slim build. Her frame is somewhat larger then Tirsa's, but comparable. What doesn't give Tirsa much comfort is the way she carries herself. She can tell that her opponent has been in fights before and holds confidence in each stride.

"I'm totally frelled."

:: Occupying Sith Kat’s Sith Infiltrator The Chimera, as it resides in a secluded area on the planet of Gamorr, Endo works on the cloaking device, removing the power supply that has been totally fried from the amount of times it has been used. He mumbles under his breath in Rodian, as he lies on his back with his arms both buried up into the compartment beneath the cloaking device. ::

I sure hope Tirsa is able to acquire that new power cell, by whatever means necessary. We can’t afford to buy a new one, and an Infiltrator without is fairly useless to us.

Her skin and clothes, and the pallet on which she is lying feels clammy. Something smells of rotted leaves and sweaty bodies - sweaty, non-human bodies. She can hear squishy, rustly and clanking noises coming from somewhere on the other side of the wall she believes is dividing this room from the next. But her eyes just register darkness.

"Flightly hell! what's this?"

As she raises herself from the pallet, her head begins to throb - violently. And from her stomach, she can feel an acid burning enveloping her guts.

No doubt about it - she was hungover.

She can remember arriving on this mud-wallow of a planet with her partner, Jekaan, on the search for a pair of Gamorreans Iceheart needed for some reason. They'd found two almost immediately, had closed the deal, and then Jekaan had dragged her off to the Irrational Number, a seedy bar run by a Bith in Jugsmuk Station. That resulted in a long session drinking some vile Gamorrean version of lomin-ale, during which Jekaan had somehow managed to get friendly with two of the local people and gotten involved in a friendly game of sabbacc.

After that, her mind draws a blank.

From the other side of the wall, she can hear grunting. Her grasp of Gamorrean is virtually non-existant, but that sounds like whoever is grunting is very angry. Which still doesn't explain why there's any grunting at all - if things went as expected, she should be on board Jekaan's ship right now, on her way back to Corusc---

"Flightly hell!"

It's all coming back to her now - Jekaan and his stupid bets! He ran out of credits soon enough, and, confident in his last hand being the winning hand, had put her up as the prize! As they had dragged her off to meet her new "owners", she recalled Jekaan calling after her, saying that she should just punch her way back whenever she had a good opportunity.

"I am soooo going to kill that bastard!"

For now, she has to wait and see what might happen.

A grey streak of Gamorrean afternoon sunlight falls into the room she is in. Someone must have opened a door, she thinks, before her eyes register that all that is separating her from the rest of the hold, is a curtain.

As a greyish-yellow sow enters the cubicle, Qourr nearly faints. The sour and rotten smell coming off the female Gamorrean makes her already queasy stomach turn and revolt. She manages to stand up somehow, though, and to meet the sow's stare unflinching.

" Muh! Muh v'lch!" The Gamorrean finally grunts. She picks one of the thumb-sized gray parasite morrts out of her hair and holds it to her shoulder where it could find better purchase. Her pale yellowish flesh is dotted with the scabs of their bites, Qourr notices.

"Huh?"

Whatever that fat sow is saying, Qourr isn't getting a word of it.

The Gamorrean seems to have provided a solution for the problem, though, and thumbs on a tiny transliterator droid hanging around her neck.

[Ugmush my name. Clan matron of Nudskutch]

Qourr could understand her alright now.

[Outlander v'lch slave to Ugmush now.]

Qourr doesn't like that one bit - apparently, the two shady guys from the bar have sold her to the Gamorreans. Oh well, time to try a bit of diplomacy.

"Hey look - this wasn't my idea. My partner gave me away in a sabbacc game. Look, I'll just walk out of here now, and we'll forget all about this, right?"

[Outlander girl fight now. Got cheating girl outside - outlander v'lch fight her.]

Flightly hell, so much for diplomacy...

"Look, I'm not gonna fight anyone, do you understand me? You can't make me--uuuurgh!"

At that point the sow just grabs her by the neck and drags her out into the open air, into knee-deep oozing slosh on the ground in front of the hut.

[Outlander girl fight other outlander now, then we talk buying freedom, yes?] the sow grunts at her.

"Uh....I'm not gonna f---grrrrglll!"

Once again, the hefty Gamorrean sow clamps her strong fingers around Qourr's wind-pipe. After an agonizingly long minute of dangling with her legs in the air from the sow's hand, Qourr finally relents and gestures submissal.

"Alright, alright - I'll fight. Now where is that other girl?"

As the clan matron shoves her through the masses of oncoming Gammorreans, Qourr tries to find her partner's face in the crowd. But if Jekaan is anywhere on the planet, he's got to be hiding away for a while - probably nursing a hangover.

As they march, the sow gives out a long series of grunts that the small droid translates as the Gamorrean Honour code and Battle rules. Qourr starts wondering what all that crap is for - it's either going her way, or no way. But then, she definately isn't in the right position to discuss that. She'll just take it as it comes.

Finally they reach the battle arena. Rotted leaves and the same knee-deep slosh awaits her, and on the other side of the field, a human female.

I wonder what that one's done to deserve this...oh well, better get on with it.

It takes her only a second to gauge out the situation. Whatever the other one is, she sure looks like she's in the wrong kinda place.

Qourr's instincts take over - the pure joy to be in combat again.

With a whooping war-cry, she runs straight at the other girl, ramming her head into the girl's stomach.

They both tumble to the ground.

Jekaan lifted his aching head and stared for the zillionth time over to the door.

Where in drokkin space is Qourr???

He can't remember all too much about the previous night, but he did vaguely remember having made this place a back-up if they got lost.

Well, Qourr hasn't turned up at the ship that morning, and there was no sign of her being anywhere near it, so he made his way to Momma Reseros' and waited there.

It isn't exactly the best of places to go on an upset stomach and an aching head. The place was a dease-ladle diner, run by a Chevin called Reseros Meh - who had to be about the grumpiest female he'd ever met of any species.

Without being asked, she had grumpily put down a plate of steamy and extremely unappetizing-looking mushrooms in front of him when he'd entered, and the slimy sponginess of the things wobbling on his plate isn't exactly good for keeping his stomach calmed.

He can't figure out what's happened to Qourr - she's not usually the one to go off without a word.

But what puzzles him more is the severe case of amnesia he seems to suffer from - he can't remember anything that happened the night before.

Resignedly, he once more looks at the steaming heap of brown slime before him, and sighs.

She's probably off beating the crap out of some poor innocent bastard...

Tirsa has no time to react to the other woman's quickness. She grunts as the human tackles her to the ground with a painful headbutt to her stomach. Both women tumble to the ground and smack right into the muck. She can feel the wet mud oozing through her clothes and the slimy morrts wiggling around by her fingers.

It was more of a surprised scream of horror to the foul creatures then the human's attack that escaped her mouth. Tirsa just wanted to not be laying around in this disgusting environment any longer. With strength found through desperation, she kicks up her legs and tosses the human over her body. A loud squishy noise accompanied the impact of her opponent's fall and Tirsa quickly rose to her feet ... and then quickly found herself slipping in the mud, and falling face first.

With a look of disgust, she raises her head and spits out some of the rancid mud, "Uuuhhh. Taste like dren." She wipes away the mud off her face and pulls off a morrt from her hair, throwing it away. She looks up and by chance she slipped close to a spear.

Grabbing onto the weapon with both hands, she pulls herself up carefully, not wanting another face first expedition into the wonders of the mud. She takes out the spear and holds it out in front of her clumsy. "Maybe I should've paid more attention to Kat fighting, then Kat. Frell ..."

Tirsa sighs and takes a few steps and then slides over the mud to where the human is starting to get up and tries to take a swing at her with the pointy end of the spear.

"YEOWWWW!!!!"

Qourr is tossed backwards into the mud by the other girl. This time, she lands face-first in the slime and comes up coughing and spluttering, as the mud seems to have gotten into her mouth somehow, and up her nose.

"Flightly scraggin hell!"

She curses, trying to grab for some foothold to escape from the wet ooze. She is drenched in the stuff from head to toe, and if her opponent is anything to judge by, then she probably got a handful of those ugly parasite creatures hanging off her somewhere, too.

The short look she's given her opponent just then makes her stop in mid-motion. The girl is blue! She's fighting a damn freak, not a human!

If there's one thing Qourr can't stand then it's freaks: people that look human but have some strange modifications. Cyborgs are alright - most of them just got bits of themselves replaced after accidents and such. But people with skin colours other than the normal ones - green, or blue, or splotchy, or whatever - those were just mutilated freaks to her. Freaks who are trying to pass themselves off as something better than human, usually.

Suddenly the blue freak is standing before her, and Qourr is dodging spear-attacks.

As much as the slippery mud allows her, Qourr scrambles to her feet, dodging another thrust from the spear.

I've got to get myself a weapon.

She tries her best to slosh her way across the field, in the general direction of one of those vibro-axes the Gamorreans have planted there earlier. The spear keeps being thrown at her.

Midway across the field, she's got enough. This damn freak will have to be stopped.

Staying right where she is, Qourr waits for her opponent to thrust the spear against her left side again. As the blue girl attacks once again from her left, Qourr dodges into the same direction, and the spear goes wide to her right. Qourr quickly grabs the spear with both her hands, and tries to push it back towards her attacker's own torso.

But the force extended from both sides of the spear just manages to overbalance both of them, and they end up getting another mouthful of mud.

And yet again, the human finds a way to push them both into the muck. Tirsa's hair is completely matted to her head and face and what is worse, her whole body is covered in the slime. Her body starts shivering with cold as the wet mud soaks through the rest of her clothes and she whimpers because now she can feel the slugs again. The wiggling morrts are all over her and she can feel one sliding close to her mouth. If that wasn't enough to totally destroy what little dignity she had left, the sounds of grunting laughter from the Gamorreans all around the arena do. It leaves a nice, painful, echo in her ears.

"What did I do to deserve this?"

Since both of them landed on their sides, Tirsa fights off the cold and pushes with all her strength on the spear, forcing the human on her back. Spitting the morrt out of her mouth, she gets on top of her and presses the spear down on the human's neck. She grits her teeth as she is trying her hardest to match strength with her.

"I can't do this. No way I'm strong enough."

She figures that there is only one way to get out of this and it might work. Perhaps the mutual situation that they both have landed themselves in might be enough to persuade her opponent to listen to her. Tirsa's arms are sore and she is struggling to keep control so she has to make this fast.

"Look," she says through clentched teeth, "I highly doubt your here cuz you wanna be. Maybe if we put our heads together, we can get out of this."

Nov 24th, 2000, 03:41:22 PM
Qourr is having a hard time keeping herself from being pushed under the mud. Since she is using as much force keeping the other girl from knocking her out with that spear, as her opponent is pushing her down, she is threatened by the stinking grey ooze around her that wants to cover her up and entomb her completely.

Not only that, but the blue-skinned girl squatting down on her stomach, is keeping her from actually ever getting her feet up under her. Her opponent's knees and feet are pressing against her hips and thighs, making it virtually impossible to do anything.

The smelly mud covers her chest and neck now.

Lifting her head doesn't work, because she doesn't have that much strength left - the blue-skinned freak is a lot stronger than she's originally expected her to be.

I've got to get out of this mud, before it buries me alive!

Just then she hears the other girl talking to her, and at the same time she notices a slight loss of resistance against her hold on the spear. Were it any other kind of situation, and her own future less in danger, she'd probably not even think of agreeing with her opponent. But as it is, there isn't a lot she alone can do to end this ridiculous situation - maybe together they'd have a chance.

Still, she is loathe to show so much weakness against an inferior opponent. A mad idea comes to her then.

"Sure, my dearie, we can put our heads together, but...."

Suddenly she releases her hold on the spear, and, robbed of all resistance, the other girl falls forward with the spear onto Qourr's chest. Before she can do anything to retaliate, Qourr grabs for the blue girl's feet with her hands, and pulls them up and towards her.

Loosing her balance completely just as she's managed to upright herself again, the girl goes flying over her in with a shrill cry, to land heavily on her stomach, wiht her face turned to Qourr.

Qourr turns around in the mud herself, and grabs the spear that her opponent still holds. She grins at the blue-skinned girl.

"...now's a better time to talk."

Tirsa hits the ground with a sickening splattering noise as her body molds into the mud. She gags and brings her head to look up at the human women with a look of disgust. Her blueish-white face is now completely covered in the gunk. The woman can see the mud caked over Tirsa's hair and face. She blinks away the wet mud from her eyes and a look of playfulness comes across them.

"Ah yes. Perhaps we can put our heads together." She quickly pulls the spear towards herself. The human wasn't ready for that and looses what little leverage she has. She comes straight down into the grinning Tirsa and gets headbutted. A loud crack is heard and the woman falls to her side. Tirsa uses this opportunity to push on the spear back towards her opponent and now gets herself back to the original position before being heaved into the mud.

"I personally think this is a better position to talk in. Don't you?", she says grinning.

She can't see any reaction to what she said since the woman's face is completely covered in mud. She was about to let up when she feels a solid hit to the center of her back. She grunts out in surprise and then gets smacked in the face with the spear. She falls to her side and the human tries to get back in control. The end result of the struggle is the two women rolling closer to the stands, kicking up mud and morrts, as they fight for dominace.

His display lights up with several different blips, which look to be gathered together, witnessing some type of event. There still is no sign of Qourr, and it's time they got off this mudball of a planet.

And Jekaan's head isn't doing very well. Snatches of what happened the night before resurface from time to time in his memory, but all in all, the previous night remains a blur to him. If only he could find someone who could tell him what happened.

An almost sense of dread overcomes him. Not just dread...but something worse. A feeling of guilt and remorse, as if he did something bad. But what????

"What..."

Qourr is flung once again onto her back as the blue-skinned girl regains her stance. With her arms pinned to the ground this time, there isn't much she can do to get out from under her.

"...were you..."

Her opponent brings her head lower to listen to her, a mirk on her muddy face. Both of the girls are covered over and over in mud, morrts and rotted leaves... streams of brakish water runs down their hair, their faces, their clothes. A morrt drops from the blue girl's head onto Qourr's eye, and she shakes it off in disgust.

"...trying to say?"

She finally manages to finish her sentence, and as her opponent stoops closer to listen, Qourr brings up her head with force and headbutts the other girl.

Her opponent brings her arms up to her head, and Qourr gets her hands free to punch her into the soft spot beneath the rib cage. As the blue-skinned freak falls sideways to curl into a little ball of agony, Qourr gets away and finally manages to get her hands onto one of the vibro-axes the Gamorreans have so graceously provided.

She breathes in heavy ragged gulps of air, trying to not whimper as the pain burns through her gut. Tirsa manages to get her head up in time to see the human woman grab onto an axe.

"Frell. Got *cough* to get up ..." She moans and gets to her knees. The human woman pulls the axe out of the muck and Tirsa looks around for the other one. It is far to her right side and she knows she doesn't have the strength to get it now. Course, now the human woman bellowed a war cry and is coming at her.

Tirsa looks around for options and doesn't see any. She gets to one knee and has to time this right, since it's the only way. As the axe comes down, Tirsa rolls to the left and the axe gets stuck in the mud. She quickly grabs onto the human's leg and pulls, sending the woman unceremoninously to the ground. Scrambling to get up, Tirsa makes a break for the other axe.

Out of breath, she grabs onto the handle and pulls it out with both hands. She hears her opponent getting with much swearing and she heads back, dragging the axe through the muck, "I said ..." She moves the axe behind her, " ... we should work together."

She swings the axe without any finesse and the human woman ducks easily. Tirsa spins around, looses her balance, and ends up in the mud once more as she slips. "Not frelling again!!!"

Finally, he gives up. There's no sign of Qourr, and there's nothing he can do except wait. He might as well trudge back to the spaceport - maybe she's waiting at the ship for him.

Pushing the unappetizing mass of mushrooms on his plate back at Momma Resero, who stands looking at him behind her counter, a disapproving look on her face. The two credits he throws onto the counter quickly change that look to a more favorable one.

I bet she's going to dump that back into her pot and serve it the next poor fool who comes in...

A moment later, he's outside, just in time to witness the weather going from the usual fog, to an even more usual rain in one second flat.

"Vader take this planet!" he mutters under his breath, as he pulls up the collar of his coat and plunges into the muddy and wet streets.

Pressing through the crowds of off-planet traders and native Gamorreans is no fun at any time. But there's something in the quality of that torrentuous rain that makes the native stink grow vile and putrid.

Finally he's through the milling mass of flabby bodies, and standing at the edge of a circular opening, a natural arena of sorts. The croud surrounding it is huddling under small repulsorlift shelters, or just coats and bits of protective clothing. There's mostly Gamorreans, anyway.

The arena itself seems to be filled with more mud and garbage than he's ever seen anywhere else around the place. And from what Jekaan can see through the rain, in the center of the arena, two apparently human warriors are fighting. He can't be sure what they are, but one thing is clear - they're definately not Gamorreans.

Seeking temporary shelter underneath one of the repulsorlift platforms, Jekaan steps closer, to watch. He might as well stay and have some fun - maybe there is someone around who he could have a couple of bets with...

Dodging the axe coming at her, Qourr performs a spin on the heels of her boots and tries to bring back both her feet onto the ground afterwards, but at the last moment she slips on something extremely slimy and falls straight forward onto her opponent.

With a whoofing sound coming from the other girl as her breath leaves her, Qourr lands heavy on her opponent. She quickly rolls off, and comes to lie next to her.

It is then that she realizes that something else has entered the fight: rain.

The rain is heavy and tastes of mud.

Figures...

As she lifts her head to see if she can still make out the Gamorrean spectators, her gaze falls onto one unmistakable outline.

"Jekaan..." The name comes out in a low growl.

Together with the anger and contempt that bubble up from her stomach at his sight, an idea comes to her. She grabs the other girl who's trying to slowly get up, and pulls her down onto the ground again.

"You said you want a way to get out of this mess?"

The blue-skinned girl looks at her, somewhat exasperated and not just a bit suspiciously: "That's what I've been trying to talk to you about, yeah..."

"Well, now's the time. And I know how."

Qourr grinned at the other girl who is looking at her with big eyes.

"Why now? why go through all this --" -the other girl wiped the muddy rain our of her eyes- "-- when we could have stopped it earlier?"

Qourr's grin now broadened.

"Because before, my good-for-nothing stupid nerf-herder of a partner wasn't here."

He walks to the rear of the ship and presses the button next to the door of Kat’s quarters, announcing he is there with a tone in her room. Tirsa's lip curled in disgust as she spied the rotund form and a face that was just as portly as her captors. "My sympathies for having that as your partner."

She pushes the hair out of her face, letting the rain wash away the mud, "So ... how's he gonna help us outta this mess?"

From somewhere in the crowd, a Gamorrean snorts and grunts in a very unpleasant tone at the two women. Tirsa cringes as she understands every word and looks at the human who looks comfused. "Well, you better explain as we fight ..."

She packs some punch after all, that one.

Surreptiously letting her gaze wander over the audience and the crowd of once again satisfied Gamorreans, she finally meets Jekaan's eyes through the dim curtain of rain. She grins at him, as she sees his expression change from his usual self-satisfied grin to a horrified stare.

She finally turns back to the other girl, and mumbles at her.

"That fat bastard sold me in a drunken stupor to that crowd of pigs over there. It's time he paid for that."

Feeling her aching chin with a hand, she slowly gets up from the ground, a little ahead of the other girl.

"But you're right - we better keep them happy while we talk..."

Suddenly she grabs for her opponent's hair, and pulls her up by it. Then, in another rapid motion, she delivers several quick slaps into the blue-skinned girl's face and resumes talking.

"We're going to rush at him, drag him in here, beat him senseless and leave him."

The crowd cheers as her blows come flying even faster. Her opponent's eyes begin to water, but she seems unable to even as much as raise her arms to defend herself.

"We'll drop on the ground and crawl out of this mud-bath. They're goin' to think that the fat bastard is us huddled into a ball - I don't think they'll realise that it's not us, through all that rain. Got it?"

Finally the other girl reacts and kicks Qourr aganst the shin a couple of times.

His eyes go wide as he finally makes out who exactly it is that is fighting there. Qourr!!!

But how did she end up in--

His eyes then fall on the two humans standing a little way behind the main group of Gamorreans.

Those are...those are the ones I played against last night!

With a mental jerk, it all comes back to him then - how he played against them, how he bet everything he had on one last lucky hand - and finally had put his own partner up as prize. He as a vague memory of Qourr standing slightly bedazzled on top of the Sabbacc table, staring firebolts at him in anger.

He had lost, and they'd dragged her off, kicking and screaming.

Uh oh....this is not going to be good...

The human woman lets go of Tirsa after the last kick to her shin. She drops to one knee and grins up at her

She turns her head to the side with a frown, seeing how far the man is and psyches herself up repeating in her head like a mantra. I'm not going to slip. I'm not going to slip ...

With a growl, Tirsa stands up steady and runs towards him, followed by her new "friend". Whoever this guy is, he is going to be so sorry when they are through with him.

The fat fool seem to be in a total state of shock, not knowing what is going on. He isn't sure if the two women are making a break for it, or what. It goes through his mind that perhaps the blue skinned girl is running away and Quorr is chasing after her. This is a good time as any to make up for his mistake.

Tirsa's eye open in surprise as the fat human gets in her way. A wide grin comes across her face as she leans forward, careful of maintaining her balance and shoulder blocks him in the gut. He stumbles back and what she feared would happen, happened.

She slips after the impact with the large girth and falls face first in the mud yet again.

Punched in the gut, he flies backwards, but is stopped by a kick in the back from Qourr. He goes flying forward and further into the field of mud, landing face-down in the icky ooze with a loud splash.

The Gamorreans grunt in satisfaction at this welcome surprise.

Jekaan tries to get his head up to look around, but before he can make any further move, a hand grabs the back of his head and presses him furhter down into the muddy ground.

Mud gets into his eyes, his nose, his mouth...everywhere. After a short time, he can hear the roaring in his ears as his breath runs out.

He starts thrashing wildly with his arms.

Then his head is pulled up violently, and he gasps for air - just as Qourr's foot connects with his ribs.

He groans.

All she wants is to get out of here.

Doesn't matter how. As long as it won't mean getting a hand or arm or head chopped off by whoever is waving that saber around over there...

The Gamorreans fighting each other is the best chance she has. If she can get past them, stay low, crawl through mud and dirt and morrts and remain undiscovered, she'll be safe. Then she'll only have to reach the spaceport and the hangar, and she'd be past all danger. Once on the ship, she'd be able to fight off as many Gamorreans as they could throw against her.

As she seeks safe passage through Gammorean legs thrashing and plodding on the ground, she remembers the fate of her partner. The problem is that they are both responsible for each other, and as much as she hates him, there is no way that she could get away with leaving him here like this.

"Flightly hell..." she mumbles to herself.

I'll go to the ship and wait there for one more day for him to return. If he does not, then at least I can say that I tried my best...

The ground over which he floats is brown and black, but as he touches down, it gives way and he bounces up and down a few times.

Floating is nice.

He feels light, his bodyweight he can hardly notice. Even his head seems light. And there is a pleasant golden glow in the distance that makes him feel all warm and comfortable.

If it wasn't for the incessant drilling noise in his head, this would be perfect.

The noise grows louder and louder, and he looses his balance and bounces into all directions. Hitting his head and limbs on anything in the way, his body is gradually starting to break out in blisters and boils, and then the skies open up.

The downpour is slimy and ill-smelling, and as he looks on, it is blood that is falling all around and on him. The blood is heavy and drags him down, and he falls headfirst onto the ground.

His clothes are soaked in wet blood, his mouth and nose are full of blood. His lungs fill up with blood, and replace the air inside it.

A roaring in his ears overlays the sound of the drill he seems to have permanently lodged there. The roaring grows and grows, until he feels his head is about to explode. Then---

"UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!"

***********

The Gamorrean tusker that accidently stepped onto something soft pressed in the mud, jumps back in surprised horror, as the mud begins to move and a huge form rears up and detaches itself from the rest of the mud.

Suddenly the mud creature develops eyes that open and cast a reddened stare at the poor Gamorrean Warrior. He's never heard of something like this.

Dropping his vibro-axe on the ground, he turns around and runs as the creature lunges at him.

***********

Jekaan's head hurts. The roaring has left off since he managed to get up from the mud that had suffocated him, but the drill in his head goes on forever.

And there seems to be a bloody battle going on around him.

His glassy-eyed stare comes to rest on the handle of the abandoned vibro-axe, and his heart leaps.

Weapon. Kill. Fun. Kill bloody gamorreans.

Two seconds later, a group of Gamooreans beating up an off-world trader stop in mid-thump in horrified terror as a creature seemingly made of mud with two lethal-looking blood-shot eyes and a big vibro-axe comes running at them, screaming a blood-curdling shrill cry:

Tirsa watches the Gamorrean die by Endo's blaster bolt and smiles. She starts to get up but then hears the most horrible scream that seems to be heading in the direction of her and Kat.

She turns her head to see the fat partner coming at them. Kat runs off to take care of him and Tirsa gets up to run after her equipment ... and she slides to a stop when three Gamorreans cut her off.

Tirsa begins to back up, eyeing the vibro weapons in their hands. She notices out of the corner of her eye that there is an escape route to her right, underneath a tarp covering something.

Tirsa catch!

She looks up to see where Endo's voice is coming from and only sees her blaster, followed by her pack, coming at her as the Gamorreans charge her. She jumps back to dodge the short vibro blade to her mid-section and rolls to her left, to miss the axe that came down and hit mud instead of her.

The pack and rifle land perfectly in her arms as she removes the safety with ease and open fires. The three pigs drop like flies and Tirsa smirks, happy to have a weapon that she is adept at. She quickly gets out of the fray and ducks under the tarp, peering out to get a better idea of the situation now.

Kat is no where to be seen but the mob of Gamorreans are trying to surround Endo.

"Bloody Frell ... huh?" As Tirsa turns her head when she swore, she noticed that the wooden crate that is next to her is written in Twi'lek. Something she can read and her eyes light up when it says explosives.

Taking the butt end of her rifle, she cracks it open and a wicked grin comes across her face. The crate is packed wth CryoBan grenades.

She takes one and looks for the best point to throw it. "Damn ... wish I knew where Kat was," she whispers. The best area is the end of the mob and hopefully this will cause enough of a scare that the Gamorreans near Endo scatter.

Tirsa hits the trigger and tosses the grenade. The explosive goes off and an intense wave of cold envelopes those pigs caught in the center. The mud hardens in black ice and squeals of pain are heard as Gamorreans drop from the extreme drop in temperature. Some try to run in fear, but ice has incase their feet to the ground.

Endo looks around in surprise to what happened and backs up quickly. He feels a hand grab his arm and he is pulled out of the fray and quickly thrown over to the side of one of the spectator stands.

As she neared the scene of the earlier battle, she was careful to stay out of sight while peeking around a crate. Apparently she was not careful enough, because Endo just missed sizzling her snout with a blaster-bolt, and she hastily withdrew behind the crate again. Moving to another spot, she even more carefully peeked around, just in time to see Gufbruk, one of her rival Clan Matrons, squeal and then go silent as her head took a blaster-bolt right between the eyes. Resistance fades. His axe doesn't give him the same satifying wet thump of metal into flesh and bone anymore.

He opens an eye and carefully peeks around: no pigs in sight. No Humans either.

With a very long groan, he heaves himself upwards. The mud doesn't seem to want to let him go - his boots are stuck. So he wearily bends down and unties them, and finally stands there in his socks.

His feet make ugly squelching noises when he finally limps out of the fighting grounds.

Drok that woman if she's decided to take off without me! She won't be safe from my wrath for the rest of her life - even if I have to be carried on a litter to reach her!

Every step hurts - somehow the deep mud that lies on the path doesn't seem to be able to stop the stones underneath from doing as much damage as they can. Jekaan curses a few more times, and decides to send the bill for the new boots to Qourr.

As he approaches the spaceport, he notices a bunch of angry Gamorreans around. He grips his bloody axe, but they don't seem to notice him. What's all that about???

Coming to the transparisteel door of the hangar their ship is in, he suddenly sees a horrid creature staring right at him as he turns the corner to the door. Brownish green, ogling madly at him with red eyes, an axe dripping with blood swinging over its head - huge and ferocious enough to make Jekaan vanish back around the corner in fear. Listening, he can only hear the sound of his own rattling breath. He peeks around the corner, but the monster or whatever it was is gone.

When he finally gathers enough of his courage to step around the corner again, he comes face to face with the beast again - to find that he's looking at his own mirrored image.

"Drok! Stupid drokkin' fool!" he swears, and tries to look as if he had never been fearing anything in his entire life.

When he finally opens the hangar door, the ship inside is ready to lift off. The ramp lowers and he sprints inside, wondering what has changed Qourr's mind to let him return without any rebuke.

It's when he sees her standing in the door, looking right past him , that he looks over his shoulder and realizes that half of Gamorr's unhuman population must be on his heels.

"Get in you fat bastard!" Qourr shouts at him, ready to hit the door release. He clambers up the boarding ramp, his breath wheezing.

Running straight past her as she clamps the doors shut, he enters the cockpit, throws himself into the pilot's seat and hits the engine release.

Seconds later, they soar into the sky, leaving a croud of very angry Gamorreans on the ground behind them.

The Warhog lifted quickly, if somewhat gracelessly, and climbed for space as fast as it could. A modified freighter, it was not the smoothest vessel in the atmosphere, and not much better in space. What it lacked in grace, it made up for with firepower, however. Four laser cannon turrets, 2 heavy ion batteries, and even an antique railgun bristled from all points of the hull.

[Scan for human ship] ordered Ugmush, sprawled in the captain’s chair.

There was no trouble spotting the ship as it headed straight out from the planet, outside of any normal shipping lanes.

[We catch them] grunted Ugmush with satisfaction. [Get weapons ready. Open commlink.]

The Warhog listed to port to trail the other ship, which appeared to be leisurely moving away from the planet as its jump was being computed.

[Human ship. You now in weapon range. No surrender, we fire]

Disbelief stands painted across his face in plain letters. He knows Gamorreans aren't particularly famous for smartness, but this has to be the dumbest stunt he's ever heard of!!!

"She what???" he finally manages to croak, staring out of the cockpit window. The vessel bearing down at them looks about twice as dilapidated as the Moldy Crow, the YT-1100 freighter they called their own, and if the owner was anything to go by, that ship should not even be spaceworthy.

The sqeaky voice comes clearly across space, at the same time as the [i] Crow's Weapons Detection systems blare out loudly.

Jekaan watches with an incredulous stare as the spotter begins listing the weapons arrayed against them. At the mention of the ion batteries, he swallows hard, and abruptly returns to his normal state of icy calm in any situation.

He just wishes that his head wouldn't hurt quite that much. Being used as a club to beat up Gammorreans by an angry female Sith was definately not anything he ever wants to do again.

With a sadistic grin, he finally punches two small buttons, and the Crow's own weapons fire up.

"Let's see what they think of a few Arrakyd Proton Torpedoes for dinner..." he mutters, as the targeting system reports the other vessel sitting there like a lame and exceedingly well fed duck in his view.

His thumb stabs the release switch, and two torpedoes soar off, nearly unseen, matte-black against the dark backdrop of space.

"Nice journey, my babies..." he mutters to himself, and then giggles aloud. "Take that you mangy hutt-faced morrt!"

Ugmush drooled copiously in anticipation of the bounty for Quorr's ship, and the expected pleasure to be had from punishing her rightful property for this attempted escape.

[They no answer. Fire one ion blast. Disable drive.]

The gunner reached for the firing console just as the undetected torpedoes slammed into the forward shield. The ship bucked from the force of the explosions, with sparks flying across the bridge and squeals sounding from all sides. Corpulent bodies rolled out of seats from the violence of the surprise attack.

Jekaan Oludh may be a master spy, and have access to massive amounts of data, but he couldn’t know everything. The Warhog was equipped with surprisingly good shields, and although they buckled from the force of Oludh’s first attack, the ship was not disabled or destroyed. Two torpedoes had not been enough to destroy the ship, but Ugmush was in no mood to tangle with this seeming freighter with its suprising weaponry.

[Retreat] Shrieked Ugmush. [We land NOW.]

The Warhog nosed straight down, showing her still-operational aft shields to the Moldy Crow as it dove into the atmosphere. Smoke rose from every corner of the bridge, and small electrical fires smoldered on several consoles.

Ugmush’s beady, bloodshot eyes narrowed even further as she surveyed the wreckage.

[Little sewer rat! You be in my tusks someday. Then you pay.]

Unceremoneously, she is thrown back against her chair, as the Crow's engines hit in and they rapidly out-distance the battered pirate vessel.

She lets out a deep breath she hasn't known she's was holding. That was what one could call a very close shave...

Still, if he thinks I'll forgive him for his bad behaviour down there just because he managed to save both our lives, he's got to be more idiotic than I thought. There is no way I'll ever forget being gambled away like a piece of meat!

So she glowers at him out of her chair for a few more moments, until he turns his head around and eyes her irritatedly.

"What?" he finally barks at her gruffly. "Didn't I save our hides out there just now? You gotta learn to be grateful, woman!"

Eyes huge from anger, she bites back at him. "Grateful for what, you self-centered lazy drunken sod? for you gambnling me away rather than this friggin' heap of scrap? Damn, you wouldn't even think of gambling away the ship, but you don't hesitate to put me up there as a prize!"

Suddenly not able to hold back, she starts a somewhat pointless attack on him - pointless as he's already bruised and battered all over, and there isn't a lot short of killing him that would make him more miserable than he already is.

He ducks into his seat and raises his arms to protect his face and at least ward of some of the blows coming from her, all the while jabbering at her that at least she had the advantage of getting out by herself, whereas the ship would have had to be taken back somehow - involving more work....

The ship, set on autopilot, entered hyperspace and took the two squabbling partners far away from Gamorr...

It comes down to only a few wires left but one seems to be having a problem in not wanting to cooperate. Tirsa knew that this had to be the correct one that fit underneath the power cell. Playing around with a little, and a little smack to make it fit, Tirsa almost had this little chore done.

"Hey! I think I got it!"

She pushes down on it with her palm, moving her hand left and right to get it to connect.

Tirsa already knows that her Rodian partner could handle it but felt like messing with him. She turns and gets up from the pilot's seat and starts heading out of the cockpit. As soon as the door slides open, she smacks the side of it like she forgot something and peers back in, "If you need any help when we exit hyperspace, call me and let me know. I don't want you injuring yourself further." She smiles quickly and disappears out the door.

She quietly walks down the corridor of the ship, stretching out her arms to try and relieve any of the soreness. Tirsa takes the turn to head to the living quarters. She figured Kat would be sound asleep by now so she have to be sneaky like to not wake her. Keying the door open, Tirsa slips into the room and makes her way over to the side of the bed in the darkness.
